Montblanc introduces a new all-black cross-category collection that pays
tribute to its heritage while celebrating the attributes associated with the
Maison’s central colour – style, elegance and the simplicity of timeless design.
Black is the absolute of all colours, statement of infinite beauty and exceptional design in luxury. It has also been part of Montblanc’s DNA since the Maison’s inception on 1906, with ebonite as the main ingredient in the production of Montblanc’s original writing instruments, and one of only two colours in the company’s emblem, created in 1913. In its ongoing mission to inspire people to express their full potential by doing what truly moves them, Montblanc is introducing Montblanc Ultrablack, its first ever complete cross-category collection united by an all-black design theme.
A celebration of the modernity of its most recognizable colour, the collection brings together with simplicity and timeless elegance multiple product categories from leather goods to writing instruments, from watches to new smart technologies. Montblanc Ultrablack Leather Collection
Mobility, performance and elegance are trademarks of montblanc Ultrablack leather pieces, represented by a Backpack, a Clutch and a Mini Folio. With an identity that is unmistakably Montblanc, thy feature the original M pattern inspired by the geometry and lettering of graphics from the Montblanc archive, underscoring the richness of the Maison’s heritage. Bolder than ever, the all-over M treatment is in embossed leather.
A new expression of the iconic Montblanc emblem takes the iconic star from decorative element to functional feature of the design, technical, tactile and playful in anodized aluminium. The emblem closure becomes a distinctive element and allows for easy opening. Always on the move with sophisticated and functional leather companions: the Backpack is equipped with exterior and interior pockets including a padded compartment for laptop; the Clutch and the Mini Folio can be hand-carried or worn cross-body thanks to the detachable shoulder strap.
Montblanc Starwalker Ultrablack Writing Instruments
Pursuing an unrelenting exploration, passion for space, a handful of adventurers have left their mark on humankind by walking among the stars. While a mission through space is the ultimate adventure, Montblanc StarWalker writing instruments are made to inspire anyone to leave their own mark, and write their story, regardless of what their mission might be. In black precious matte resin with contrasting black ruthenium-coated metal fittings.
Montblanc StarWalker UltraBlack is an instrument of imagination and creation, featuring a Montblanc emblem that seems to float in mid-air on a grey base. The Montblanc StarWalker line-up includes a Precious Resin edition in all-black with contrasting metal fittings, a Doué edition with a black resin barrel paired with a metal cap or forepart. Each edition is available as a Fountain Pen, Ballpoint and Fineliner Pen.
Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Ultrablack Watch
The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere UltraBlack Watch continues the legacy of over 160 years of
Minerva’s history in fine watchmaking, linking the past and the present through design, style and
innovation. Icon of the 1858 collection, the timepiece features the Manufacture Worldtime
complication with two turning domed hemisphere globes which make a full rotation in 24 hours
providing an instinctive way of reading different time zones.
The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere UltraBlack celebrates the colour black with contrasting grey
and white elements. This timepiece comes in a distinctive black-coated steel case with a special
satin-finishing, achieved by manual washing and brushing. This technique gives each watch its own and unique patina. In the dark, the 1858 Geosphere UltraBlack glows as the cathedral-shaped hands, the indexes, the compass indications and the hemisphere globes are all coated by hand with white SuperLumiNova®.
Dedicated to the Seven Summit Mountaineering Challenge, the locations of the seven summits, and the Mont-Blanc, are indicated with red-coloured dots on the two hemispheres. On the case back, you will find engraved, in the centre, a drawing of the Mont Blanc mountain, two crossing ice picks and a compass surrounded by all seven summits, namely Mount-Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, Puncak Jaya. All these key aesthetical details evoke the spirit of mountain exploration and the iconic peak that inspired the founders of our Maison.
