Romeo’s Kitchen + Bar

By | Canadian Rockies | No Comments

On the way back to Vancouver we took the Rocky Mountaineer again!  We arrived in Kamloops from Jasper and ate in the hotel at Romeos Kitchen+Spirits at the Coast Hotel Kamloops

We were so happy to find out the chef is Pinoy  and the place is even named after him. We were hoping to meet him but he was out.Romeo's Kitchen + Bar (21) Romeo's Kitchen + Bar (20)   Chef Romeo knew at an early age that his calling was creating in the kitchen. He worked his way up through the kitchen ranks earning his Red Seal Certification, and has received praise and respect along the way. Since arriving in Kamloops from Vancouver, Romeo has received a number of impressive accolades including wins at various Master Chef and Iron Chef competitions and most notably, he was recently featured on The Food Network’s inaugural season of Chopped Canada.

Banff

By | Canadian Rockies | No Comments

Banff is the base city when you want to visit the Canadian Rockies.  There are several ways to get here- by bus/car, by train ( we took the Rocky Mountaineer ) and by plane via Calgary which is 30 minutes by car to Banff.  I highly recommend taking the one way Rocky Mountaineer train going to Banff 🙂  Then when you get to Banff stay 2 nights minimum so you can enjoy the city and relax and see the sights around the area – the Canadian RockiesBanff (22) Banff (23)  Cute Sweets store with a pink bike and pink door in Banff #Banff

Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer

By | Canadian Rockies | No Comments

There is really not much to do on board the train.  But be assured that you will be so busy looking at views, taking photos and for sure they will feed you from beginning till the end!!!  It is an 8 hour journey and you will be eating probably half of that time and in between you can have drinks as much as you wantDining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (33)

They have 2 chefs on board per cart to prepare the meals.  Here is one of our chefsRocky Mountaineer Chef who even gave us freshly baked cookies Rocky Mountaineer cookie

There are 2 seatings on the train since not everyone fits in the dining room.  We take turns with the group in our car. So while we are waiting for breakfast they give you freshly made scones with jam and butter.  They make sure there’s a napkin under every item on the table so it doesn’t slide and fall  on board the @rockymountaineer #RockyMountaineer #CanadianRockies #H2HCanadianRockies #sconesDining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (27)Love the butter stack 🙂rocky Mountaineer butter

Before lunch they serve cheese and wine 🙂  You will really never go hungry or thirsty on board the Rocky Mountaineer!Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (3) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (4) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (5) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (6) The dining roomDining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (32) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (34) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (9) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (22) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (29) Dining on Board the Rocky Mountaineer (12)You have to choose your entree.  We strategies and order different dishes so we can try them.  It is the same menu so depending on where you are going – you will have a chance to try 2 or 3 dishes per meal on the long menu 🙂

The Water Secret

By | Health and Fitness, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

Reading material on board the Rocky Mountaineer!!  It’s so peaceful you can read a book with beautiful scenery all over 🙂

I am always on alert for ways to stay healthy because I am so unhealthy with all the stress I have.  This is a very interesting read and an interesting way to look and feel younger.  I read through it and I picked up several tips!!  Dr. Murad tells you step by step what to do and what to actually take.  If you are the type who wants to have something to follow from beginning till the end, this is for you.  Who would not want to feel and look 10 years younger??  It is not about taking water but making sure your cells are nourished and retaining the water!  And he will tell you how to do this.  Very interesting!  The Water Secret
