During the ArtFair, an exhibit at ARCHIVO gallery last Feb. 20. A private collector who exhibited some works of Philippine art that have never been exhibited or seen elsewhere but are valuable. There were around 50 works but he has 750 in his collection! He could have had his own Art Fair!! He started collecting in 1988. At that time, he just bought works that he liked. Visit to the Mind Museum

Last year I was able to visit the Mind Museum for a short while

We were only able to do a part of the museum so I look forward to going back to see more

Visiting Fernando Amorsolo’s Ancestral Home

Last December, we went to visit the ancestral home of Fernando Amorsolo. Thanks to my Tita Tess for taking me along No one lives here anymore There are so many photos, unclaimed works, unfinished works, memorabilia etc. They are hoping one day to have a proper museum so more people can appreciate all of these
The children of Amorsolo Love this portrait of a child Fernando Amorsolo was the First National Artist of the Philippines. This is a photo of his medal For me, this is the most valuable frame in the home of Fernando Amorsolo. This is the photo he used to paint my Lola’s portrait which now sits in her home. Gliceria Rustia Tantoco. Beside the photo are his notes about Lola and details of the jewelry on her hand. Visiting Fernando Amorsolo's Ancestral Home (6) This is the actual painting My Lola was very particular about what jewelry she would wear for the portrait so Amorsolo knew that so he made sure of its details His best friend was also a National Artist for sculpture, Guillermo Tolentino. This is a photo with Guillermo Tolentino and the portrait of Tolentino which Amorsolo painted and gave to him. The bust on the other hand was made by Tolentino of Armorsolo which he gave to him I’m so happy Tita Tess @tokietan2 took me with her to visit the home of Fernando Amorsolo. Beside it is the Fernando C. Amorsolo Art foundation Inc. with Sylvia Lazo ( daughter) as President and her son Nandy as Vice President. Sylvia is the official authenticator even before the foundation was set up with Nandy as co authenticator. Nandy is now working on documenting everything. Amorsolo had two wives and a lover so he has a total of 20 children. Sylvia is 1 of 8 children from the second wife after the first wife died.

Private Art Collection

Visited this beautiful home and admiring the art collection!!! We used to stay here when we were kids and I remember we used to get scared of the “santos” and the figures around the house but now we look at them in a different way and appreciate them 🙂 My favourite is in the courtyard – Nora Aunor in the movie Himala by Gerry Leonardo. Photo Transfer Technique by Toots Magsino

Toots came back to Manila from New York City in 2011 and started teaching Cancer patients from Carewell. Now she does it as a career and conducts classes and workshops to groups. She does what she does best – art – and how fortunate that she can share this gift with others.

We had a Photo Transfer Technique workshop Photo transfer technique by Toots Magsino @toots_collage We all enjoyed an afternoon of learning a new way to enjoy art and share art through the process of photo transfer. Art is therapeutic and Art is fun Prayer first by Sr Yvonne 🙂 We had to bring coloured photocopies of our photos Teachers pets!!! Jeanne and Lills!! haha!! Congratulations!!! Wolfgang Zwiener welcoming everyone to Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Manila! Wolfgang was the maitre d’ of the famous Peter Luger in Brooklyn. He then went on his own and put up Wolfgang’s 🙂 German potatoes – Heart2Heart’s favorite side They served 3.9 tons of meat that evening!! No need really for the sauce but we like this sauce for the onions and tomatoes and for the bacon! YUM! I need to try the Beefsteak tomatoes and onions! More bacon 🙂 The menu

There are 9 locations already in the USA – 5 Manhattan, 1 in NJ and 1 in Miami, 1 In Beverly Hills and 1 in Waikiki beach. For International there are 3 in Japan, 1 in Seoul and now 1 in Manila as store # 14. Next month they are opening their 4th branch in Fukuoka and in the end of the year in Singapore. Tine Tine

2 years ago we had our Velada ( Oct 2012 ) A few months after that I heard about the news of Tine’s gastric cancer. And last Thursday God called Tine to join Him in heaven. I felt that no one could really accept the fact including Tine who fought to live till the last moment. Christine Syjuco Aurelio

This is what she wrote about herself in our Silver Linings Book published for our Velada in 2012Tine was the Mother Marie Eugenie awardee of our batch

A simple, kind, cheerful and holy person. Though she left and lived in NYC for 20 years, she was very present in our batch. She is a highly respected batch mate by everyone. Even if she was not physically present she was a silent worker and lead the batch behind the scenes. I will never forget when one day I received a private email from her kindly advising me about something I had said in our group email and that is when I knew that though she’s very quiet, she was watching over our batch and making sure we were united. That is a true leader and a person with pure intentions and a pure heart. So up to this day I remember Tine always in everything that i do and make sure I will not do anything to put our batch on the line. Tine Tine was a very private person and I knew she avoided me for that reason! 🙂 She also did not want me to take her photo alone and she would always pull me beside her!! Which I am so glad now because as I was looking for photos of her – I was always there!!! haha!!

I am so grateful that God gave me one last lunch to be with Tine Tine when we had our AC ( Assumption) East Coast reunion in New York last May 2015. That was the last time I saw her.
Tine always giggling and always with rosy cheeks. This is how I will forever remember her – a friend full of happiness

I love you Tine! You will forever be in our hearts! like you have always been even when you were miles away! Pray for all of us 🙂

I LOVE Manam! And I love their new branch! Now at the Net Park Bldg 4th Ave corner 27th street LOVE THIS SIGN! The chefs behind the malinamnam Manam @manamph – Corporate Head Chef of the Moment Group Chef Robert Bolanos and Executive Chef of Manam Chef Ernz Owera. Mana now Open in BGC (7) Love all the shakes!!!A MUST! So we tried as many as we could!

YUM!Many of the items in the All Day Menu are new and only in BGC for now so come on over to try them! TWIST – Caramelized Patis Wings – Each restaurant of the Moment Group has a chicken wing version 🙂
