Peterhof Grand Palace and Gardens

By | Nature, Travel | No Comments

We drove outside the city to go to Peterhof and visited the Peterhof Palace.  Since it was a very long palace, I took a video from the back of the Palace:-)

We were not allowed to take photos inside the palace

You have to wear shoe covers to walk inside the Palace!  Good idea to preserve the floors

One photo from my phone 🙂

Lola Casademunt started her business in her garage and sold hair accessories, then expanded to other accessories then now has ready to wear.  She is now 82 years old and still active in the business.  She said, that her daughters have taken over but they should not forget that I am still the boss!  I love it! 🙂  She also said that she knows what designs her daughters and her granddaughters will like!

The State Hermitage St. Petersburg

By | Arts and Culture, Travel | One Comment

Our last stop of the day was the Hermitage.  What an amazing collection of Art!!!!  The museum was swarming with people and all the artworks were just exposed.  I was worried how these priceless pieces of art are just there and there are so many of them all in one place and there are a swarm of people just hovering around!

Marina as usual only took us to the most important pieces since we had limited time,  But just that alone took us around 2 hours just looking at the artwork and identifying them.  As it says here in this write up it will take 11 years for you to see the 3 million exhibit pieces if you were to take one minute per piece!  WOW thats a long time! 🙂

What a blessing to have the opportunity to see the works of art you normally just see on cards, posters and in books.  Heart2Heart loves ART!

Marinsky Theater St. Petersburg

By | Arts and Culture, Entertainment, Travel | No Comments

My sister made sure we watched the ballet so she got some tickets to watch Romeo and Juliet.  We were hoping to watch Swan Lake but it was not showing.  Beautiful Marinsky Theater.  If you notice the buildings in Russia are very colorful.  Mariana told us that they did this so the city would not look too drab and gray – imagine if all the buildings were gray?  and imagine in winter when the weather is dark and gloomy? the city would be all gray! 🙂
