After having the sashimi breakfast ( Tsukiji Market Breakfast January 9, 2010), we headed towards the fresh market! WOW!! How I wish we were staying in a house or apartment so Mom could cook for us using all these fresh seafood!!

This trip, we went to Tsukiji market ( Tsukiji Market January 17, 2009 )early in the morning.
Be careful of these guys going around in these motorized things! They just come out and move so fast

Finally we get a seat! The restaurants are so small so it can only fit around 10 to 12 – so we got in as customers finished until we finally filled up the place
You can never get prices this cheap in regular japanese restaurants…
The chef lays a leaf in front of you where he will put all your orders
This was the most popular order of the family – Around US$7.00 for a piece of Otoro. Mom says that is already cheap and you cannot get it at that price anywhere else. So you can imagine how the family just ordered it!! 🙂
Heart2Heart is not really a sashimi eater so I ate the safe one which was cooked – the unagi 🙂 YUMMY!
I am happy my sons are adventurous and eat sushi and sashimi 🙂

Dad and Mom took us to this restaurant where they enjoyed with their friends before in Tokyo
An interesting concept. We came in and we saw this – it was a whole table surrounding these two chefs and there were ingredients in front of us
in front of the chefs is a griller where they grill everything you order in front of you
Then you tell the chef what you want – we just pointed to the ingredients. Then you will hear the chef shout what we ordered and then the other waiters in the background shout it as well! Hilarious? 🙂
And they cook it and then they serve it to you using this wooden stick

The food was very good.
We were not given any menu and we got surprised with the bill. We felt we paid too much for what we had, thugh Dad and Mom said that the Japanese are very honest and honorable people and will not cheat us. I guess it was our fault for not asking for the menu also. So, make sure you ask for the menu!

M. Noey and Krie also took us to this beautiful mall in the same area. Unique in a way that you go around the mall using the ramps – there are escalators on the side but basically you use the ramps. And the music is not the regular music you hear when you enter malls – christmas or pop songs – it was just sounds- when we were there- maybe like water droplet sounds. And wow, the decor was beautiful and elegant! The shops are not the usual shops. Interesting 🙂 Heart2Heart loves unique and out of the ordinary ideas and things!!

M. Noey and Krie took Mom and I to their “favorite street” in Tokyo. It is a walking street and with many quaint shops. There are a few big name brands like Anna Sui, DKNY and Fiorucci but other stores are small and unique shops.

Last year when we were in Osaka, we ate in this crab place which we really enjoyed. ( Crab Resto in Osaka February 6, 2009) We were happy to find out there was a branch in Tokyo. After eating all the beef, we were happy to have some crabs. This is one of our favorites now and especially for Dad. It was so near our hotel ( Dai Ichi Hotel ), around two blocks walking distance. Looking forward to going back here.

Another interesting building in Ginza- the Abercrombie and Fitch building. They just opened last month. From the outside you will think it is a club and many people are lining up around the corner
Oh my gosh! When you enter the store, this is the first thing that you see… I think we can just stop in this floor and just do some window shopping 🙂

We walked up the stairs till the 11th or 12 th floor – in between are the sales staff dancing to the loud music and greeting you- love the store!!!
We did not plan to buy anything but we bought the cologne that was sprayed in the store because we liked it so much

In Ginza you will find the stores of world famous brands. It’s amazing how they have the whole building named after them!

A restaurant recommended to me by Tippi Tambunting and we all love it! Tonkatsu ( breaded pork cutlets ) YUMMY! We were lucky to get a table for all of us because the restaurant was full and when we finished lunch at around 1:30 pm – there was a long long line of foreigners and Japanese waiting still.
The dishes more or less all look alike when it comes to the pork tonkatsu- you just choose if you want the fillet or the loin ( more fatty ) and of course there are different grades of pork.
