I was shocked to see my son going to school in pajamas!! Apparently, it was Spirit Week at his school!! WHAT A COOL IDEA!! Heart2Heart likes the idea!!!I am so happy my son is not shy and joins in the “SPIRIT” of his school 🙂

Yum Yum!! I didn’t know it was as easy as this to have Chocolate Lava cake at home! This is normally a special dessert in a restaurant.
Thanks to Larry and Roselen for sending us this yummy dessert.

Since we just arrived from Baguio and there were fresh strawberries on the table, I added this to the cake and I used Golden Spoon Old fashioned Vanilla frozen yogurt instead of vanilla ice cream… IT WAS PERFECT!!!! YUMMY!

Finally Heart2Heart reached Quezon City and was able to visit the newly opened restaurant of our friends, Enzo and Sandie. It was well worth the trip. I did not see Sandie there but was able to meet and talk to Sandie’s partner, Yong Nieva, who showed me around and intrduced me to the restaurant. He said that they wanted to really open a restaurant in a home which is the trend nowadays. It was his wife, Ivy Almario-Nieva who designed the place. Yong told me that they are still on soft opening and have not had their grand opening, yet the place was fully booked at the time I was there and it has been that way since they opened.
Congratulations Enzo, Sandie, Yong and Ivy!! More power to you!! We are looking forward to a Makati branch!
Since I was not able to meet up with Sandie in the restaurant, I asked her to give me a short background on the restaurant and this is her story….

Our main dinning had black and white floors. Each room is divided into different stages of his life. the main dinning has the pics of all the Philippine Presidents he served plus other dignitaries he met. The bar area has pics of his war years it has the famous Landing in Leyte Pic.
It was Enzo who conceptualized the resto.
Ivy looked at old pics of our Forbes house and that is how she came up with the black and white floors.

The Menu is more Filipino Spanish. Some of the dishes we are know for are recipes from our family like the Lola Virginia’s Relleno (which is still made in our house) & Tito Gregs Karekare. Other Favorites are the Bangus Pate, Boneless Crispy Pata Binagoongan and the Flying Tilapia.
The private rooms are named after the different houses we had the “Kasiyahan Room” was our residence in Forbes and pics of his UN days there. Kaligayan was our Baguio house where we have photos of the family. The Kapayapaan Room is his UP days.

On 20 December 2009, Hermès will open its very first boutique in Manila, in partnership with Anthony Huang, President of Luxury Concepts, Inc., a subsidiary of Stores Specialists, Inc.
The store, with a retail space of 120 square meters, will be located in the upscale Greenbelt 3 Mall in the city’s CBD in Makati. The boutique was designed by Rena Dumas Architecture Intérieure (RDAI), the Parisian interior architecture agency founded by Rena Dumas who creates the Hermès stores worldwide.
Hermès’ contemporary spirit will emanate from the shapes and composition of a store divided in two main areas: once passing the Hermès Ex-libris threshold, a bright space welcomes the visitors and is followed by a more intimate space dedicated to the ready-to-wear and jewelry. The boutique will carry a wide range of products made with ultimate care by the Hermès craftsmen: bags and luggage, diaries and small leather goods, equestrian pieces, silk, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches, belts, gloves, footwear, hats, enamel, art of living, tableware, and perfume.
Hermès was founded in 1837. Since its beginning in Paris as a maker of harnesses and saddles, six generations of enterprising artisans have opened up new domains and conquered new markets. The Baguio Market now is renovated. It is cemented and the stalls now are neater, cleaner and brighter. One of Heart2Heart’s favorite hangouts in Baguio!
We bought these Sagada oranges and they as sooooo big and really sweet!!
Mom always buys her watercress and that whole bunch on that scale is only P 20.00!

There are just so many options when you are at Golden Spoon. Here are some guidelines on ordering the BEST FROZEN YOGURT 🙂
1.) Choose your Flavor
If you look closely at the menu board, it says ” TODAY’s NON FAT FLAVORS.” A lot of people fail to read that so when they see the menu board, they think that there are two flavors that are LOW FAT which is Peanut Butter and Toffee or Heath Bar. So, please remember that all Golden Spoon flavors are NON FAT and out of the 50 plus flavors they have in their line, only 3 are LOW FAT or 99% FAT FREE.
There are only 100 calories in a mini sized cup and 200 calories in a small cup
You can also swirl two flavors
as long as they are beside each other on the menu board
2.) Choose the size of your order
There are 4 cup sizes
Mini/child size
Small
Large
Quart
and then there are 2 cones – regular sugar cone and a waffle cone
You can have up to 3 flavors in a SMALL CUP
Up to 4 flavors in a LARGE CUP and a QUART
3.) Choose Your topping
Some think that the flavors on the menu board are toppings, only because maybe they are used to just having original flavor yogurt and they just order the size and toppings. Toppings can be chosen by looking at the counter – there are 18 DRY toppings 6 cold toppings and 6 hot toppings which compose of the fudges and syrups!
You can put as many toppings as you like!!! Skies the limit!! In case it does not fit, there is a topping cup to put the extra toppings that do not fit. You can use it to take home as well your toppings
4.) Gift Suggestions
There are no gift certificates yet, but a nice gift would be to just buy whatever you like and put it in the nice insulated bag ( Tub it, Bag it, Take it Home December 11, 2009) which comes with ice and will last for hours until it reaches the recipient
