With over 250 years under its belt, Vacheron Constantin is not only the oldest time jewelry manufacture but also the most innovative. Its long history of creating masterpieces and challenging its own technologies and arts has been the living ideology behind its famous Maltese Cross.

 Vacheron Constantin produced a legendary 118 stone-laid piece in 1979. Appropriately called Kallista (Greek for “the most beautiful”), the world record holder weighing 130 carats became the standard of beauty in time jewelries. This year, Vacheron Constantin names the heir of Kallista. Encrusted with no fewer than 186 emerald-cut diamonds, the new world record holder Kallania weighs an amazing 170 carats. Each diamond in Kallania went through a long and thorough selection process from among a large number of stones extracted from several million stones of diamantiferous ore. Kallania’s exceptional level of purity, color, cut, finishing and homogeneity illuminates the miracle of patience and perfection.

Giving time a new personality, Vacheron Constantin introduces a worthy breakthrough in time jewelries—the flame cut. As the first cut to be officially recognized by the Gemmolgical Institute of America (GIA), the flame cut introduces a focus on feminine contours. Lighting up the world of time, the flame cut became dedicated to two exclusive timepieces: lady Kalla Flame and Kalla Haute Couture à Secret. Evoking Lady Kalla launched in 1982, Lady kalla Flame shines through the brilliance of 200 diamonds. The natural, almost sensual design takes the mind off the time, indicated here by delicately shaped hour and minute hands. Kalla Haute Couture à Secret, meanwhile, imbibes a curtain of 28 flame cut diamonds totaling to 20 carats. Unpretentious in design, its slender silhouette extends in two fine lines of 120 diamonds and, like a precious ribbon, encircles the wrist in dazzling undulation.

Bridging art with engineering has never been a cause of concern for Vacheron Constantin. Its Haute Joaillerie Malte Tourbillon Regulator combines the magic of watchmaking with the mystery of gem-setting. With the invisible settings all entirely hand-crafted, Malte Tourbillon Regulator is dressed in 565 baguette diamonds creating a supreme illumination of time. As the gold is completely hidden by the gems, the watch becomes a sculpture in diamonds: lugs, bezel, case middle, dial, buckle, every single element shimmers with light, from the crown to the emblematic Maltese cross.
