Pets

By | Animals and Pets | No Comments

I don’t know if anyone can beat the family of Ned and Janet in terms of the number and kinds of pets in one home.  It’s amazing how they have accumulated them through the years.  Many friends give them animals/pets because they know for sure that they will be well loved and cared for.  Even stray cats go to their home and Janet buys cat food just to feed them. What you see here is not all, many have already passed away or they have set them free.  They even had a duck egg which was given to them by the Fun Farm at Sta. Elena and they were able to make it hatch and grow until they set the duck ( named Pato )  free back in the Fun Farm.

Ned told me that having pets in the house teaches their kids how to care for animals and most important is RESPONSIBILITY.  It is not a joke to take care of pets, it is just like taking care of children.  So, it is a big responsibility and training the kids at an early age is good.

Ned has helped me and some of my friends acquire some pets.  He is an expert at pets up to the last detail- from sourcing the pet, choosing the right habitat( cage, aquarium, etc ), to the decorations inside and  setting everything up. He will also give you instructions on what and how to feed them.  So if you are looking for pets for yourselves or as a gift, give the PET EXPERT a call.

Late last year,  I was talking to Ginggay and she was telling me how her husband, Noel, had started photography as a hobby.  He had bought a new camera in preparation for the birth of their first baby.  We were laughing because she was wondering why Noel spends so much time taking insects and bugs! 🙂

A few months after, Noel directed me to his Flickr site to view his photos and these were the bugs Ginggay was talking about!  Wow! Not a laughing matter at all!  They are beautiful photos of insects and bugs!

And here are more of my favorite ones from Noel’s photos:

I remember the time when Noel took time out to call me and attempt to help me in my photography.  I appreciate it so much when my friends give me advice.

Noel, You have gone so far from just bugs and insects! You are a great photographer!

Noel has many more beautiful photos, you can view it in his Flickr account

Arf Arf Confectionery

I LOVE these dog biscuits!!  Not because I have a dog that loves them nor do I love eating them but because it was through this that I got to meet one of friends who is now one of my dearest.

Three years ago when I was planning the Dog party of Javs, I had wanted to give out dog biscuits as a giveaway.  So I emailed Michele to sponsor some for the loot bags and immediately she said YES!  From that day on, we never even talked about dog biscuits, but became friends!

Michele is my friend who cooks as a hobby and she invented these dog biscuits which she has been selling for ten years already.  She told me that before she made these biscuits, she tried all the other dog biscuits out there and she did not like any so she made her own.  Aside from dogs loving these treats, her son, Luigi, used to eat these biscuits when he was teething.

It comes in small and medium sizes

and it is VERY HEALTHY!

Available of course in only THE BEST – Rustan’s Supermarket and Shopwise

and in other major supermarkets

I got to meet the beneficiaries of her special treats :

GORDY – the Shih tzu, 10 years old – Michele quality controls all her biscuits and puts only the whole bone shaped pieces – any that are cracked or damaed are not included in the package – so Gordy gets to eat those.

What a CUTE FACE!!!!

and there is BOB-BOY!  Bob is the name but they call him BOB-BOY pronounced as “baboy!”  So funny this family! Bob-boy, the Golden Retriever, was so happy to see Michele, he was jumping all over her.  He is a trained dog and would SIT when told to but he was too excited and could not sit still when Michele was telling him to…He kept jumping all over her and running all over the place

Aside from her two dogs, she has other pets.

Hamsters – Bob 1 and Bob 2 – Luigi likes the name Bob!  🙂

Then there is Freddie, the squirrel.  Michele told me that she would literally put him inside her shirt when he was a baby because she would take him with her everywhere she would go!  Usually squirrels just go all over the place and run so fast away from people- this one sticks to Michele and knows her!michelepets5.jpg

I love these shots of Freddie clinging on to Michele

And this is my favorite named pet- FRAP!  which stands for Frappuccino, named after Starbucks’ famous Frappuccino drink. But since Frap is a girl – it is Frappuccina but Frap as nickname 🙂

They are all so good natured and all know her.  I believe that the personalities of the pets reflect the personality of their masters.  You can tell that they are all well groomed, happy, caring, loving and very affectionate.  And that is my friend, Michele, she is all that plus more, that is why I love her!

A Dog party

By | Animals and Pets, Celebrations | 5 Comments

Three years ago, Javs had a dog party.  He loved Coach,  a mini Schnauzer, who was the newest member of the family. It was nice to see dogs of friends who came all dressed for the party.

Two Month Old Persian Kittens

By | Animals and Pets, Classifieds/Segunda Mano | No Comments

I got this from my friend, Gloria. I asked her if Heart2Heart could help Mitch find a home for her kittens.

These kittens are 2 month old pure persians with champion parentage (maternal ) they are doll faced not flat faced which makes them more desirable as they are not prone to the diseases of the flat faced variety. They are long coated and squirrel tailed again a desirable trait. There is 1 male (orange ), 2 females ( pure white and calico ) they have been dewormed and are litter trained, healthy, eat dried food and are used to being bathed weekly. Asking price is 6k neg.

Sweeping-ears

For some reason, the kids wanted a French bulldog and they were trying to convince us to get them one.  About two weeks ago, we actually went to Binondo to visit a kennel.  Thanks to Dinky, Dondi and Dino for always advicing us on almost anything… This was the one they were eyeing……

There were many other frenchies, here is another one….. 174153537503_0_bg.jpg 510163537503_0_bg.jpg

The kennel not only had french bulldogs but they had Basset Hounds ( Hush puppies) …it was my first time to see hush puppies in person and did not realize how big they were compared to the photos.  775253537503_0_bg.jpg 529033537503_0_bg.jpg

This is Andrew and his daughter, owner of the kennel.  It’s always interesting to meet people with different kinds of hobbies and businesses…

Owning a dog is like having another member of the family, it deserves the attention, care and love of its parents.  So, it is important that the family is ready to take on this responsibility…maybe later on 🙂 But for those that are expert pet owners, having a frenchie seems like a good idea…give Andrew or Kim a call.
