Swarovski Pays Homage to Endangered Species

By | Animals and Pets, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

swarovski01.jpg

In a continuing effort to give their support to endangered animal species, this year, Swarovski pays homage to the endearing Polar Bear “Siku”. Its beauty has been captured in a crystal sculpture with finely cut facets, enchanting sparkle and incomparable shine.

This year, the Swarovksi Crystal Society (SCS) looks to the Arctic – and in the depths of the harshest and most uninhabitable lands, finds ‘Siku’, the magnificent Annual Edition 2011 Polar Bear. Translated from the word for ‘ice’ in Inuit, Siku glows majestic lines, evoking strong emotion. With this sparkling, expressive and sophisticated sculpture in cut crystal, Swarovski has distilled the very essence of this appealing and well-loved animal from the Arctic Ocean.

Accompanying Siku in 2011, and creating an endearing polar bear family, are two sets of lovable cubs – one set crafted in the same color as Siku, and the other in a more intense white.

Designed by Anton Hirzinger, the Annual Edition 2011 and the pair of cubs (available separately) are formed from faceted moonlight crystal with eyes and nose in Jet Crystal. The cubs are also available in White Opal. The Annual Edition 2011 comes with a Title Plaque in faceted crystal with AB coating.

As a yearly commemoration, Rustan’s presented the Annual Edition 2011 through an intimate event last January 27, 2011 At Rustan’s Makati. Swarovski formally presented this year’s limited edition piece, ‘Siku’ the Polar Bear.

swarovski02.jpg

The 2011 Annual Edition also Swarovski’s long-standing link with water. Not only is this precious resource essential to the polishing technique that gives Swarovski creations their eye-catching and unique finish, it is also at the heart of the Swarovski Water School program, dedicated to teaching the children of some of the world’s most challenged nations about the sustainable management of water.

Purchasing SCS Annual Editions makes a tremendous contribution to the implementation of this project.

About the Swarovski Crystal Society (SCS)

Founded by Swarovski in 1987, the SCS is now the world’s largest association of collectors. It boasts close to 325,000 members from 130 countries, brought together by a love of crystal, craftsmanship and creativity

An SCS membership opens up exclusive access to the world of Swarovski, bringing the wonder of crystal even closer to the most passionate of collectors and crystal enthusiasts. The SCS indeed organizes events, trips and a host of get-togethers for the members, who also receive a dedicated Swarovski magazine four times a year, and enjoy access to a special area on the Swarovski website.

By | Animals and Pets, Fashion, For kids | 4 Comments

Heart2Heart visited the Whitespace market today to see the new products of Tin!  ESPADRILLES!!!  I remember when we were teenagers and we would collect all the colors of espadrilles.  The beauty about Tin’s espadrilles is that they are made in our very own country, in CEBU!  Love the embroidered kids designs!! I told Tin to make animal designs for me! 🙂  and maybe other bigger girls and ladies might want some.  My 3 boys already ordered Men’s size!  We all love them!  Good luck Tin! For sure you will sell a lot – they are adorable!

Our New Baby

By | Animals and Pets | 8 Comments

Several years ago, I had told my family that we can’t have both a new dog and a new baby all at once….. so of course the baby choice was the best at that time.  But since we have not had a baby, I finally agreed to a pet since Javier has been wanting one.  A Black Schnauzer in particular ( Rene WigenSchnauzer Breeder  August 24, 2010 ).  In 2008, it was a french bulldog ( Sweeping Ears January 21, 2008 ).  It was a long decision and just one day, James called up our good friend, Dinky, to get advice about a pet that would be easy to maintain, and he suggested a Boston Terrier and gave James a website to look at

 promise-land-boston-terriers-20100924.jpg

And after a few days, it was just like going to a shop and picking something from the shelf 🙂  We went to Pook Ligaya

img_8492.JPG

The first thing we saw was the garage….hmmmm…vintage car collection

 img_8494.JPGimg_8495.JPGimg_8496.JPG

and we saw horses crossing going back and forth to the stables

img_8524.JPGimg_8526.JPG

we met Violet, cousin of Paul, who is running the stables

img_8527.jpg

and we met the breeder, Paul

 img_8506.jpgpromise-land-boston-terriers-20100924aboutus.jpg

The first puppy we saw was this one who James really liked because of his color, though he was not really a puppy anymore compared to the others

img_8497.JPG

Paul showing off the puppies and explaining to us the show qualities of the dogs

img_8511.jpg

Then the other cage with the other puppies who Paul showed to us one by one

img_8533.JPGimg_8505.JPG

After discussion with Paul, We finally chose one

img_8539.JPG

Among the 5 puppies – Javier chose the friendliest one who was already named Romeo

img_8530.jpgimg_8542.jpg

We immediately bought dog food which Paul recommended and what Romeo has been eating already

Sleeping in the car on the way home
