Malacca

The gang got together for dinner this time it was a more special occassion….to celebrate the engagement of Paolo and Trina! Congratulations guys!!  We are so happy for you!!!

I volunteered a new place as I received a text from Malou Fores about a new restaurant that she and her husband really liked….

 malacca-1a.jpgmalacca-3.jpg

We met the chef, Chef Dean.  A very nice guy!  He told me that he first came to the Philippines as there was a job opening in the Chinese restaurant in Legenda Hotel, Subic Bay.  I was so happy because that restaurant used to be a family favorite in Subic.  And now he is here cooking for Malacca.  Chef Dean chose all our dishes -he wanted to serve us food for ” foodies” 🙂 and not the usual. So we left it up to him.

He did confirm that Malou has been back 4 times in a span of two weeks 🙂

We met also the Manager, Kai Palomares, who manages the place together with Wasabi which is owned by the same owner or Malacca.

Thanks to Chef Dean and Kai for a wonderful dinner.  We enjoyed our meal.

Wedding of the “Century” Part 4 -David Morales

The night was not over yet, After the wedding reception was a party.

I was not able to take photos of the party but I took shots of the set up before the party since we tagged along with Jigger.  He is really on top of everything.  It is amazing how they converted Tides into the party venue.

We bumped into the dancers that Jigger flew in all the way from Embassy, Manila. All dancers were all happy to see Jigger upon their arrival 🙂

As everyone knows, I am not one to party late at night but I made sure I went to see the world famous David Morales perform.  It was a great party!  Even Tito Joey and Tita Hilda came over and danced with David on stage.

We now call David, David Morales- Antonio.  He became so close to Jigger and his family and it was so nice how he expressed his love and appreciation to the family.   Not only was he the DJ who performed but he became family and a good friend to many…

Wedding of the “Century” Part 3 – Reception

It’s amazing how the series of events happened one after the other…all so well organized and so elegantly done.  Jigger covered every single detail of his wedding just as he would at work.   From the church was cocktails then the reception.  It was a difficult task for me since there were just so many details and beautiful moments to capture.  I could not stop and go all over the place.  Even the food, there was an abundance of choices.

The reception did not end after eating dinner, the highlight for us was the program they had which showed the videos which were very unique.  Instead of the usual video about the couple, the couple prepared a beautiful video dedicated to their parents.  Then another video, Wedding by the Ocean’s, which was such a creative presentation.  After which were the speeches by friends and family which were truly touching and so emotional that we were in tears and I am sure the others too.  We could go on and on listening to all of them.

This wedding proves that what makes a beautiful wedding is not only the beautiful decor and the food, but the feeling you get and  the love that you feel between the couple and among all their friends and family.  The overall experience of a beautiful wedding and the emotions that it brought out…We will never forget this day.

Jigger and May by Jason Magbanua

Heart2Heart admires Jason Magbanua and the work that he does…As I interpret events through photos, he does it through video which is so amazing!  Here is the preview of the video he made for Jigger and May

Taken from:   http://jasonmagbanua.com/blog/

The invitation said it all.

It was going to be a grand three-day celebration the likes of which Boracay Island has never seen – the couple’s birthday celebration on Friday, the wedding on Sat and an island cruise and Luau the day after.

And if that weren’t enough, David Morales flew in to play at the after-party.  And what an event that was! It lasted until daybreak (me getting old, I haven’t partied like that since Ken Ishi and Tricky in the late 90s).

Jigger and May from Jason Magbanua on Vimeo.

One look and the adjectives that come to mind easily would be “grandiose” and “extravagant”.  But as an attendee, I felt it to be a really special celebration amongst family and friends.  The speeches were heartfelt and the marriage vows deeply moving.

At the core of it all, amidst the trappings, here  were two people proclaiming commitment.

This is only the beginning of  a series of events  for the wedding of Jigger and May.  As soon as we arrived, there was already an arrival dinner and also to celebrate the birthdays of May and Jigger which was on November 6.  It felt like the wedding already.   Happy Birthday Jigger and May!  We love you!

It was so nice of Tita Hilda, the mother of the groom, to say something that evening.  All her boys love her and that evening as she spoke, it reinforced the closeness of their family and how much the boys love their mom and always praise her.  It was Tita Hilda who encouraged all her sons to strive for the best education and according to Tito Joey, she drove her boys to school everyday!

Tita Hilda acknowledged the presence of Fr. Suarez who was the celebrant for the church wedding.  Fr. Suarez is a very busy priest as everyone knows.   He has done only two weddings, one other and Jigger and May’s
