dandtlove20 Reception

By | Celebrations | No Comments

I was not able to stay for the reception but went over to take a peek and then got photos from Tessa.  I am sure it was a lot of fun and a lot of merry making 🙂  Being with Tessa is always being in a different world and a different adventure.  Not one is alike and it’s so nice she always shares them with her loved ones.

At the end of it all, Dennis and Tessa gave everything to charity.  What a beautiful gesture!  Again, Congratulations and many more years of love to Dennis and Tessa.  It’s obvious that God has showered you with so many blessings and it’s worth celebrating that

Twenty years ago, I heard about Tessa’s wedding since the whole country was talking about it.  Twenty years after, they celebrate and relive that day and what a beautiful celebration.  It is truly a blessing to celebrate such a milestone.  Thank you for making me a part of your special day.  I appreciate Tessa for always remembering me.  Congratulations Dennis and Tessa!!

(Please bear with my church photos, the entourage were walking so fast 🙂  it was hard to take a photo so quicky before they passed me )

Spanish Dinner

By | Celebrations, Foodie, Household Tips | No Comments

We had a beautiful Spanish dinner at a friends also beautiful home!

Though curtains are known to collect dust and hard to maintain, I still love the effect of curtains in a home.  It gives that cozy feeling.

img_4041.JPG

They had beautiful Soumak curtains which are proudly Philippine made!

Our special guests from Thailand. They requested for Spanish food because it’s rare in Thailand and they enjoyed Spanish food during their visit to Spain

Elegant flowers and table setting.  I love the personalised ceramic dinnerware which is from Italy and has the initials of the owner

spanish-dinner-9.JPG

Under the embroidered Filipiniana table linen is a liner which is non slip.  It serves as a non slip pad at the same time as a protection so the table is not scratched when the plate is placed on the table.  This was sourced from Spain

Everything is proper in this household.  All silverware are engraved with their initials

Breakfast at Chelsea Grand Cafe

By | Celebrations, Foodie | No Comments

There are just some things in life that you want to bring back but because of time and circumstance, things change.   Even friends change.  Reminiscing back to my high school days when I was new at Assumption San Lorenzo and there were three friends who welcomed me immediately and made me feel at home – Tinette Lanuza dela Vega, Peachy Zulueta Maxwald,  and Eds Genuino.  We were classmates and we were together every single day, talking on the phone every single day and were the best of friends.  Many years later, we find ourselves in different worlds and I am happy that today I am reunited with two of the three.  Peachy who now lives in Switzerland is here for the summer and Eds who is still my best friend till now.  And I love Peachy booboo who I now pressure like when we were in high school and I would go to her house everyday after school.

We had breakfast at Chelsea Grand Cafe . Loved the bread plate 🙂

Love the chic nut that comes with the coffee

Homemade Skinless Vigan Longganisa

US Tapa Salpicao

The Classic Egg Benedict – one egg slipped down 🙂

Snickers Pie

Today, James, joined our breakfast reunion because he wanted to have breakfast 🙂  but one day  Tinette who now lives in Los Angeles will hopefully be with us and we will reunite 🙂

Grace Park and Pinkberry for Bing

By | Celebrations | No Comments

It was so nice to personally meet Bing Salvador, a Heart2Heart reader.  She just celebrated her 63rd birthday and she treated for lunch at Grace Park 🙂  She told me she started reading Heart2Heart in 2010 and she was saving all the emails ( around 2,500 emails ) of entries because she thought it was a private website and it will disappear if she doesn’t save them.  I appreciate her for her constant support!  She likes pink too 🙂

Bing loves Pinkberry so we went to Powerplant Mall which was right beside Grace Park and it was my turn to treat the birthday girl to her favourite frozen yogurt 🙂  She had plain with kiwi, mango and strawberry.  I tried the new key lime flavour and super love it! So refreshing and light!

I met this pretty lady, Cat Ilacad, last year when she opened Foot Massage Lounge in BGC. Previous entry:  Foot Massage Lounge by Cat Ilacad  January 7, 2014

Congratulations!!  Cat was only 22 years old when she started this business.  And though her dad wanted her to work for him, she preferred to start her own business and now she’s happy and successful!!  And to all the single guys out there, this super pretty, super hardworking and super nice friend of mine is still single!  Please contact me , I am her agent!! 🙂  🙂

“Today I give recognition to two people who are  vital instruments to the success of Posh Nails.  I give thanks to Rico and Faye who have stood by me through life’s ups and downs.  Together we have missed family days, worked till midnight, gone on back to back out of town meetings with no rest, caught the flu together and sacrificed Sundays and even holidays just to provide top notch service to all our clients and franchisees who continue to believe in us all these years.  Thank you for the hard work, time and effort you have invested in Posh Nails.  Indeed it is all worth it.

Your All Time Favorite Cakes for the Last Time at the Mandarin Deli

By | Celebrations, Foodie | No Comments

I like the fact that the Mandarin Oriental Hotel celebrated the closing of their hotel.  Normally when something closes, they just close quietly and then everyone will be wondering and speculating why it closed etc etc.  In this instance, it was done so well!  There was a proper announcement made to the public, the hotel celebrated with their loyal clients and they were able to dine in all the restaurants before they closed and they brought back MeMOries and made people feel sentimental and we all ended on a good note with good memories 🙂

During some of the events, I was hearing about the Signature L’Hirondelle cake and a few days ago I was blessed to see how this cake looks like and wow, what a work of art!!!!  It’s so beautiful!!!

signature-l-hirondelle-cake-mo-manila.jpeg

I did not want to slice it!! 🙂  But I could not help it too because I wanted to try it!!! Delicious 🙂

l-hirondelle-cake-mandrain-oriental-hotel-manila.jpeg

Apparently they are offering the yesteryear cakes until August 17.  So a  few days after I visited the Mandarin Deli to see how the other yesteryear cakes looked like!

The L’ Hirondelle cake was sold out that morning and I got to see the mini version 🙂  How cute.  I suggest you call in advance and make your orders to be assured of getting your cakes

Everything looks so pretty!!! Sacher torte

and the mini version of the Sacher torte

Baked Cheesecake

Mandarin Cake

Black Forest

I love their meringues!!!!

They come in three colours and in gigantic sizes 🙂  So nice!!!

Looks so nice also!! Everything looks so good actually!!

Mike’s Birthday Celebration

By | Celebrations, Foodie | No Comments

This is a two month delayed post!!  But better late than never! 🙂  Happy Birthday to our big brother Mike!!  WE LOVE YOU! 🙂

We had food all from the kitchen of Yuan Ongpin!  The Paella guy!  He not only makes paella but other dishes as well!   For orders +63 917 500 5355 or email vongole68@gmail.com

We all loved the paella especially the birthday boy!  He says it is the BEST and OOZING WITH FLAVOR ! 🙂

These were not from Yuan 🙂  This is Chinese food from Century Park Hotel

A special birthday cake from their friend, Jean Marie,  She is the # 4 wife of Lucio Tan ( no intention to make chismis 🙂 ) You cannot buy this cake because she has it made by the baker of their hotel, Century Park Hotel.  So you can only have this if you know her and she gives it to you! 🙂  They don’t make it to sell because it will come out expense since they use the best ingredients which includes Belgian Chocolate.  It’s really good.  Even tasted better because you know you cannot have it! 🙂

Skyping with the rest of the family who were out of the country at that time.  Greeting Mike for his birthday!!
