For Krie’s birthday last November, we had a different celebration. Chef Javs cooked our meal! Thanks to Chef Javs, Mom’s kitchen is actually being used 🙂 He loves staying with Lolo and Lola on weekends and no school days – and he loves to cook for them. Here is the kitchen as he prepares for dinner, I visited him to check on him but he does not like me to take much photos
One of Chef Javs specialty – Roast Chicken – I always tell him to cook the same thing over and over again so he can master a dish and be able to prepare it consistently all the time. So this dish he can do it well and really good 🙂
The family loves his beer battered fish and chips – especially Lola! This is always a special request!
Krie’s siblings – Troy and Candy – joined us that evening 🙂
Chef Javs!! Thank you for cooking for us!
Here is his dinner

Happy Birthday Tito Frank! Thank you Eliza Drilon Luna for sharing your photos here at Heart2Heart! What a nice celebration, thank you to my bestfriend Eds for making us a part of this special occasion
We were so happy to have Tito Mandy and Tita Chi back in Manila for a few days. Lolo gave them a welcome lunch and we were happy to join in the celebration
Imagine this spectacular feast before you: meat from crabs specially flown in from Butuan served with ubod with a sauce of aligue and pumpkin,
a leaf-wrapped dish from Sorsogon made with buko,
freshwater shrimp and mint, organic baby back ribs from Faith Farm in Bacolod, grilled whole maya maya wrapped in pandan leaves with traditional burnt caramel sauce; and for dessert, bibingka made with heirloom rice from Nueva Ecija and tarts made with chocolate from Davao.
This was the wonderful spread at Town & Country’s first ever Fabulous Food Affair last November 15. As Editor-in-Chief Yvette Fernandez put it, “Food is a direct link to home, it is visceral and it something you can appreciate with your five senses.” And the Fabulous Food Affair was truly an experience for all five senses.
Held in Aracama, Bonifacio Global City, with its modern hacienda-style interiors, the venue was perfect for Chef Romy Dorotan and Amy Besa’s Fabulous Food Affair aptly titled, “Brooklyn meets Bicol, atbp”,
with Chef Fernando Aracama of Aracama and J. Gamboa of Cirkulo.
Chef Romy and Amy are known for their critically acclaimed restaurants, Cendrillon in SoHo, and Purple Yam, in Brooklyn as well as their best-selling book, “Memories of Philippine Kitchens” – which offered a fascinating – and personal – look at Filipino cuisine and culture.

For many years the Dasmariñas Village Association has the Philippine Philharmonic play at the park during Christmas. It’s a time for the villagers to get together and enjoy some music 🙂 This year they did something different, they changed venues and moved it to the other park and for once they had free food to go with the music 🙂
I was early and there were mostly kids playing in the park
Happy to see the Outdoor Kinetics equipment in the park
My friend, Tricia Aurelio, aside from baking many yummy goodies, now organizes baking parties!!! What a great idea!!!! See what she has done for a 7 year old girl! If you are thinking of having this kind of party, call Tricia Aurelio at 0906-460-2106 or landline 725-6944
The gang had our christmas get together and we went to the South which is nearer for Pao and Trina. We were so happy because we discovered this place in BF Homes. Pao and Trina had heard about it from their sister, Bea. It is only a year old and because they were celebrating their anniversary, we got a 15% discount on our bill 🙂
This was our baby shower celebration as well for our dear friend, Trina who is about to pop soon 🙂
Pao and Trina are expecting a girl, so don’t ask me why I brought blue themed decorations thinking it was a boy! I knew very well it was a girl! Stress and age 🙂
We arrived ahead of Pao and Trina so Mish and I started ordering because we were so hungry!
I loved this platter – they put together all our appetizer rolls in one platter
I hope I get the names right – all I can remember was they were all good! Something different, not the usual japanese rolls
Tuna and Scallops dynamite
Spicy Tuna roll
Unagi Cream Cheese Maki
Fried oysters – again a unique dish – it’s the sauce and toppings that made it different
Gyoza!
Sensei Seafood pasta – I was so curious to taste this so we ordered it
Pan Roasted Salmon – it’s always the sauces and toppings that make his dish unique. We loved this dish!
Crispy Pork Confit Rice Bowl – Also yummy!!
Then Pao and Trina arrived!! And told us that we should look for the Chef and order the Omakaze meal! After ordering all those, we realized we made a mistake! But anyway, Pao looked for the Chef and apparently he was the guy behind the counter and we did not even know! Meet Chef Broosy!! So young, 21 years old!! Listen to him 🙂

We requested to do half Omakaze since we ordered almost half the menu already 🙂 He is requesting for two days notice and a budget which cannot be below P 1,500 per person for the Omakaze. He will prepare a surprise meal for you for up to 15 dishes!!!!!
This was what we had that evening….
Sashimi Platter – Hamachi, Amaebi, Hokkaido Scallops with seaweed, Scallion vinaigrette, buttermilk dressing and snapper tostada! WOW!! We all enjoyed this! He brought the platter and we just shared
Uni Tempura
Pork Belly Kakuni style with Roasted carrots, braised radishes, onions and fresh herbs – Everything unique and tasted so good!
