Je Suis Gourmand

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 2 Comments

One of the popular restaurants in the Fort.  They were one of the first restaurants to open when the Fort was being developed. Owned by our good friends, Cary and family.  Finally Heart2Heart features Je Suis Gourmand

Homemade Spanish Dinner

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 11 Comments

To welcome our good friends who are back from the UK, we hosted a casual dinner for them and some of their friends who have become our good friends too

welcome-dinner-1a.jpgwelcome-dinner-3.jpgwelcome-dinner-4.jpgwelcome-dinner-5.jpg

I always try to entertain and host at home.  I brag about my cook, Edna, who does wonders for me.  As Suharto says, I just make the menu and my cook executes everything else.  I am so blessed to have her.  Edna was a cook of my Tita Vicky and she told us that her specialty is Paella Negra and Sisig!  IT IS TRUE!  So ever since i hired her 9 years ago, she has been serving that to my friends!  So many have tried these dishes.  She makes everything from scratch.

Iberian Chicken ** Paella * Paella Negra* Calamares

welcome-dinner-6.jpg

Sisig!! Not a Spanish dish but can go with the other dishes 🙂

Believe me, this is the BEST SISIG EVER!!   Very unhealthy so we have it only when friends come over..and only because I am proud of my cook!

It is so crunchy and crispy, it really comes in a sizzling plate!  YUMMY!!!!

Happy Birthday Tito Serge!

By | Celebrations, Christmas | 2 Comments

It was nice to once more see The Osmeña’s before Christmas for Tito Serge’s special day.  As usual, great food, great company and this time, beautiful Christmas decors by Joseph Claveria ( decorated Pink Kitchen and Tickled Pink).

Lucille’s Birthday Treat

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 2 Comments

We were deciding where to eat for Lucille’s birthday but we insisted that we wanted her to cook for us again.  So, we invited ourselves over to her house and had the birthday celebrant cook for us on her birthday!  🙂

It was of course a delicious lunch!  However, since Lucille decided to have a sit down lunch rather than buffet ( which she did last year ), she kept going in and out of the kitchen to prepare the food to be served.   So I do not know if this is a good idea, because we did not really get to talk to the birthday celebrant.

Happy Birthday Lucille!!  And do know that we will travel anywhere no matter how far just so we can eat what you cook and bake for us!

Happy Birthday Grace!

By | Celebrations | 2 Comments

Not only did we get to see the beautiful home of Lauro and Grace, but we enjoyed a lovely dinner with them and their friends.

I am getting to know Grace more and more and am happy to know that she and I have a lot in common and I am very fond of her –  we like frozen yogurt, we enjoy having a massage/spa, we like taking photos and documenting our experiences, we both like shopping in Rustan’s and we like travelling with our family.  I hope to get to know her more!  Happy Birthday Grace!!

Thank you for your friendship and for celebrating your birthday with us.   Surely we know that you have many many things to be thankful for as you have been blessed with 30 years of love and happiness!  and may you have many many more!

Lauro prepared everything for the dinner for his beloved, Grace!  What a lucky girl! The first time I met Lauro, I remember he was still courting her and how he was so in love with Grace.  More than 10 years later, now married with two boys, he is even more in love!  🙂

Georgia’s Littlest Pet Shop

By | Celebrations | One Comment

I don’t think I will ever get tired of going to kiddie parties.  Each one is so unique and you really get to see the work the moms put into every party…definitely a labor of love!

2.jpg  georgias-littlest-petshoprevised.jpg3.jpg31.jpg4.jpg7.jpg8.jpg9.jpg10.jpg11.jpg121.jpg13.jpg14.jpg15.jpg

There was actually a pet shop with live pets!  They were raffled off to the kids at the end of the party  – love birds, hamsters, fish and turtles

16.jpg17.jpg18.jpg

The much awaited prize table – everyone looks forward to the prize table in Tina’s parties.  Even Mommies go crazy over them.  This prize table had prices and the kids win paper money and they use the paper money to buy their prizes
