5th Belenismo sa Tarlac 2011

By | Christmas, Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | 4 Comments

This is the fifth year of Belenismo! Thank you Tita Isabel and Isa for making me a part of this Christmas tradition.  I am truly honored and blessed.  Belenismo is a project that is born out of your love for Jesus and the Holy Family.

There were 148 Entries this year among the 3 categories – Monumental, Grand Monumental and Parish.  Then there are the dioramas with 50 entries.

The 4th Belenismo sa Tarlac 2010 January 23, 2011

Congratulations Tita Isabel and Isa for al your effort in making this an annual tradition.   As always your Belen is so beautiful, thank you to Ding Mercado, who tells me that whenever he is working on his design and the Belen that he does it with much love.

I will never be tired seeing all the beautiful Belens the people of Tarlac work so hard to put up during Christmas.  I feel their energy, spirit and love when they proudly present their labor of love.  Thank you Tita Isabel and Isa for bringing that spirit to the hearts of everyone who come to see all the belens. I wish more people could come and see them live and not only in photos.

San Clemente Municipal -This was the first Belen we visited and it was really really beautiful!

Judging for Belenismo 2011

By | Christmas, Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | No Comments

This is the first time I went to Belenismo as a judge.  All the other four years I came as a guest since it always coincides with my Mom’s birthday.  But this year since Mom celebrated elsewhere, I was able to go!

I joined the bus with all the other judges – Johnny, Ding, Carlo, Mike, Isa, and the three Dayrit sisters – Christine, Michelle and my friend Yvonne with her daughter Carin.  This group has been doing it every year for the past 5 years and I was happy to join them.  My friend Yvonne put it so well, she said it was not only a judging or to see the belens but a pilgrimage as well in honor of Baby Jesus

The Judges – Cito Beltran, Ces Drilon, Yvonne and Christine Dayrit, Rica de Jesus and Johnny Go

Ding Mercado, Michelle Dayrit and Jiji Sanares

with Tita Isabel Cojuangco and Isa

We left Manila at 230pm and arrived at around 5pm at the Museo for the Belen Dioramas.  As everyone said, it gets better every year.  The Belens are beautiful works of art.  Even if they are small, a lot of hardwork and thought is put into each and every Belen.  It’s a tribute to Jesus in celebration of his birth

Kidsmile Foundation Christmas 2010 November 22, 2010

Hello dear friends!

It’s that time of the year again and we’d like to show you what Kidsmile Foundation is offering as its holiday fund raiser this year.

We have a set of 3 large burgundy color eco- bags, nicely packaged in a white & red gift bag with an attached To & From tag, ready for giving at only P195.

The set of 5 large burgundy eco-bags packaged in the same white & red gift bag is P295.

The burgundy eco bags measure 13″ x 16″ x 8″ while the white & red gift bag measures 7″ x 8″ x 3.5″.

The proceeds from last year’s holiday fund raiser allowed Kidsmile Foundation to continue funding the daycare class for toddlers at The Haven center in Alabang for another year.  We are on our third year of sponsorship.

The class is taught by a qualified pre-school teacher with proper educational materials. The kids learn their ABC’s, colors and numbers, just like at any other nursery. They love their class and their bright and happy classroom. Field trips to Museo Pambata and the Manila Ocean Park were special events that were the highlights of their year.

Here are the Kidsmile Foundation holiday photo cards for this year.

The cards come in 4 colors: red, green, blue & brown and have corner slits to accommodate a 4″ x 6″ photo of either vertical or horizontal lay out.

The inside message reads “Happy Tidings * Good Cheer”

A pack of 8 cards and envelopes is P350.

Packed either in single or assorted colors.

Here is the kidsmile foundation sticker sheet design for this year. As always there are 20 sticker tags per sheet. (sheet is A4 size)

and we still have the red envelopes discounted now at only P10 should you want to package them as gifts.

the stickers are 3 sheets for P100 or P35@.

LUSH Christmas 2011

lush-xmas-2011-024.jpg

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!

lush-xmas-2011-08.jpg

Lush is a global business now, with over 700 shops in 43 countries, each of which have their own festive traditions and celebrations. We’ve tried to include some of these in our winter range, as we understand that this wonderful time of year means different things to different people in different countries. This is your passport to international beauty without having to leave the comfort of your own bathroom!

lush-xmas-2011-050.jpglush-xmas-2011-09.jpglush-xmas-2011-033.jpglush-xmas-2011-030.jpglush-xmas-2011-049.jpglush-xmas-2011-025.jpglush-xmas-2011-016.jpglush-xmas-2011-044.jpglush-xmas-2011-047.jpglush-xmas-2011-029.jpglush-xmas-2011-032.jpglush-xmas-2011-027.jpglush-xmas-2011-038.jpg

Northern Lights soap (Php275 for 100g) … a bright, beautiful soap reminiscent of the spectacular Northern Lights. Vibrant reds, greens and yellows all swirl together, with the fresh scent of pine oil, cypress oil and lime oil. You could almost be standing in a Finnish forest, breathing in the scent of the woodland and the sights of the Northern Lights! Pine and cypress oils are calming for the mind, while lime oil works well on congested skin and cellulite. A good one to shower with after a late night, it will wake you up whilst soothing the emotions if you’re feeling a little delicate. Vegan

 lush-xmas-2011-04.jpglush-xmas-2011-03.jpg

Glögg shower gel (Php375 for 100g) … the traditional Glögg is a spicy, warming, fruity mulled drink popular in the cold Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, Finland and Norway. The Lush version is a shower gel with a similar warming fragrance to act as a hot toddy in the cold weather. Containing fresh orange and lemon juices, red wine, brandy, cinnamon and clove, this spicy wash will leave you feeling all toasty as it works to help improve the circulation. Vegan

lush-xmas-2011-021.jpg

The Jilted Elf shower jelly … based on a cocktail recipe from a bar in New York, there’s vodka in here – a great skin brightener – along with honey and fig infusion to soften the skin. There’s also a blend of zesty grapefruit oil and spicy cinnamon leaf oil and ginger oil, to uplift the spirits and stimulate the circulation, helping to keep the cold at bay. Gold glitter tops off the recipe to leave you ready for the next round of Christmas parties! If you’re feeling brave, you can freeze it for a really invigorating shower to start the day.

 lush-xmas-2011-022.jpg

Australian Igloo sugar scrub (Php245) … polar opposites you would think, but we found that the beautiful Australian essential oils of eucalyptus and sandalwood made for a fantastic body scrub when blended with sugar. And it looks a bit like an igloo, hence the name! Each one has a soft, molten centre of extra virgin coconut oil, the idea being that the sugar gently exfoliates the skin and the coconut oil will soften and moisturise it. Skin will be left bright, smooth, healthy and glowing. Eucalyptus is also good for helping to clear congested skin and to aid concentration, so the perfect antidote to a hangover! Vegan

lush-xmas-2011-043.jpg

Gingerbread House bubble bar (Php275) … Piparkoogid … or gingerbread to you and me … is everywhere at Christmas time, especially in countries like Estonia and Germany. This warming, spicy, stimulating bath time version is crammed full of ginger powder to help increase circulation and warm you up on cold winter nights. There’s also a hint of buchu oil and lime, to give it a fruity scent. Vegan

lush-xmas-2011-020.jpg

Chilli Tingle lip tint (Php395) … a moisturizing lip tint made with Mexican chilies to make your lips tingle! Made with an emollient base of organic jojoba oil, fairtrade cocoa butter and candelilla wax to seriously soften the lips, the annatto seeds will leave them brushed with a tangerine hue. There’s icing sugar in the recipe to add a delicious, sweet taste while the chilies work to naturally plump and stimulate the lips into a perfect pout … grab some mistletoe for a red-hot smacker! Vegan
