I was so happy to be able to attend this year’s workshop by Tita Nena. I missed the one last year and my friend, Rose Marie Hugo told me about it and sent me a nice email which I kept:
Hi Rica,
I really appreciate the wonderful pictures on your blog- God bless you. I missed seeing you at the presentation done by Nena Vargas and Tina Quiros last Thursday. The place was overflowing with people and so was the delicious food. Nena is truly an artist as is Tina. What made it all worthwile was how Nena attributed all her artistry to God with true humility and love. Thanks again, Rica, I hope to see you soon.

So, I made sure this year I would go. And true enough, Tita Nena started off her workshop with a talk. I got her notes and this was the message she wanted to impart:
Tita Nena proves to us how God is always incorporated into our lives…in whatever it is we are doing…God is always there and is always the purpose for everything….even when decorating for the holidays 🙂 She made use of God’s gift to us…Nature-twigs, brnaches, leaves, even those that fell off during the typhoon – and mixed them with the Christmas decorations. Thanks to Tita Nena as she constantly reminds us about the importance of God in our lives….not only does she share it with us her family…but to others who she meets.

In light of the devastation our country faces today, we at Messy Bessy present to you this year’s Christmas Catalogue with hearts full of hope and humility.
In our catalogue are 12 simple gifts, ranging from P60 to P960, with products and accessories that help reduce our carbon footprint, even if in a very small way.
And because we are a social business run by disadvantaged young adults, rest assured that our earnings are funneled back into our development programs. These programs include on-the-job training, alternative schooling and art therapy, all run in the hopes that one day, we will all have diplomas and a secure job in the real world.
So, this year, we hope to be a part of your season of giving, in a time when we are all in the spirit of helping each other.

The BER months are upon us, and you know what that means – the KIDSMILE Foundation fund-raising products are ready!
This year we have WRAPPING PAPER in a burgundy color, perfect for wrapping your xmas presents and gifts for all other occasions.
The sheets are nice and large – 4ft x 2ft (double the regular sheet size)

We have a GIFT BOX set, a pretty, ready-to-give present, containing 4 wrapping paper sheets plus 1 sticker gift tag sheet in a matching design. The hard box is itself covered in the wrapping paper, so everything coordinates nicely.

We also have our xmas PHOTO CARDS that come in blue, gold, bronze, silver and ivory/ red. Discreet corner slits are appropriate for either a vertical or horizontal 4″x 6″ photo.

With the proceeds from our sales last year we were able to fund a day care class this entire year for all the toddlers at the haven center in Alabang. the class now has a qualified pre-school teacher with proper educational materials. the kids learn their ABC’s, colors, numbers etc. just like at any other nursery. the kids just love their class and their adorable classroom.
With your help this year we hope to be able to continue this class and provide more treats for the children.
