From December 1 to 4, a different kind of world comes to life as Candy Corner, in partnership with Wonka, opens the doors of an enchanted factory that harvests dreams and turns them into candies—the Wonka Imaginarium.

A four-day exhibit that puts the spotlight on Wonka candies, the Wonka Imaginarium allows everyone to bring their candy fantasies to life. Here, you’ll be able to walk into a magical forest with giant bugs and talking trees; enter a tunnel of lost wishes and forgotten dreams; fly and fall from the sky; and learn magic straight from a witch—all to find the rainbow: the dream that makes the happiest of all candies.

“The Wonka Imaginarium is the first of its kind in the Philippines, and we’re happy to be doing this in time for the holiday season,” shares Ricky Andres, President of Candy Corner Philippines. “More than just giving everyone a chance to get to know more about Wonka candies, our main goal is to give people of all ages a great avenue to feed their imagination and to find a different, unique activity for the whole family to share this Christmas.”

A candy brand that uses licensed materials from Roald Dahl’s Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and its two movie adaptations, Wonka’s distinct packaging and colorful taste has propelled it to become Candy Corner’s flagship brand.

 wonka-logo.jpg

“These are quality candies that have found their way into the hearts of many Filipinos,” adds Ricky. “Many of our best sellers such as Nerds and Pixy Stix are actually products of the brand, and that’s why we’re very proud to be distributing their candies here in the country.”

The first outlet in the Philippines to combine traditional packaged and novelty sweets with the concept of having customers choose and combine their own selections of treats, Candy Corner has, over the years, consistently provided chocolates and candies to satisfy the local demand for international confectionery brands. Since its humble beginnings as a lone store in 1996, the company, over the years has expanded immensely, and currently has branches across the country.

Celebs Dressed to Thrill in Gucci

By | Entertainment, Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

Renowned worldwide for its fashion authority, Gucci has always been associated with quality Italian craftsmanship and luxury. That’s why it’s no wonder why we always spot Hollywood celebrities donning the latest creations from this fashion power house whether they are on the red carpet or out and about.

Singer Keri Hilson was spotted in New York as she got her pretty-girl-rock on in sky pumps, skinny jeans, gold layered necklaces and hair done to perfection. Keri rocks out the whole outfit with the Gucci Gucci ‘Seventies’ large tote bag from the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. This bag features pied-de-poule pattern print, brown leather trim, and the green/red/green signature web which goes down the middle.

She played up her summer tan and blonde locks with this marigold soft nappa leather short sleeved belted knee length dress which perfectly hugged her every curve.

With red lipstick and bumped up hair do, Olivia sexed up this classic black polka dot printed silk chiffon gown with white polka dot bow detail and lack lizard belt with gold square buckle.

Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini, holds the reins of one of Italy’s most powerful fashion houses. Dressed stylishly sophisticated in black, Frida wowed the crowd with a silk crepe column Gucci dress at the W.E. Premiere during the 68th Venice Film Festival. Her dress features asymmetric draped neckline embellished with gold and transparent crystals which perfectly accentuated the dress. She kept her hair and make-up simple and paired her look with black python high heeled evening sandals and black stingray clutch.

I Don’t Know How She Does It

By | Entertainment, Today's Quote | One Comment

About two weeks ago, the girls went to watch this movie! I loved the movie…maybe because I could relate to the character in the movie ? 🙂

i-dont-know-how-she-does-it-03.jpg

I especially liked the part where she talks about not being able to sleep at night…because she has to do THE LIST!  I catch myself doing this a lot of times! which explains why I can’t sleep sometimes 🙂  There are just so many other nice and funny parts in the movie

the-list-i-dont-know-how-she-does-it.jpg

And how do we really balance everything we have to do in life between work, friends and family…… this film answers that question…and in real life, we all just have to find that balance and know our priorities 🙂

Unrest Premieres in Manila

By | Arts and Culture, Entertainment, Great Achievements | One Comment

Two Years ago I featured UNREST as it was premiering in LA

Previous Entry: Unrest Produced by Marie Tantoco Pineda October 10, 2009

This month, Unrest premiered in our country and it was nice to see the movie on the big screen! I only watched it on DVD and this time I got to watch it in a theater and it was even better!! Congratulations again Marie!! Looking forward to a full length movie!!!

unrest6.jpgunrest-awards.jpgunrest8.jpgunrest-selection-2.jpgunrest-selection.jpgunrest.jpgunrest1a.jpgunrest1.jpg

Dear Marie, I would like to say with all sincerity that after seeing the film I realize now why you won the awards! I was narrating it to Patrick scene by scene and it struck me how super good the story is and how it was adopted in the screenplay. The direction was super! so many dramatic camera scenes to make you feel the emotion of the moment! One second more…one scene more…and my tears and sobs wud fall unabashedly! CONGRATULATIONS!  T. Nedy

Congratulations Marie!  My friends and I really enjoyed!

The way you sourced and selected your props was amazing! Loved the benz, and the toyota lite ace even more. Oh and their license plates! Heard m.dino found those,  nice one m.dins! It was hard to tell that it was shot in the states. Congrats! Cant wait for the next one!

Congratulations Marie! The film was compelling,  moving,  and complete in 15 minutes. Its  so challenging to accomplish all that in such a short time. That’s why its brilliant.

On Another note, you are also an amazing muti tasker:  producer,  spokesperson,  film operator and DJ.

Congratulations marie!!!  It was such a well made film! We really enjoyed it!

Dear Marie

I saw the film before and it was in tv.  Now I saw why it’s called a film because it’s meant to be in a cinema

I’m so proud of you. I saw the movie in a new light and new emotions ran thru. Iba pala.  And no wonder this won the bafta award! Imagine bafta?! Congrats really mars

Emmanuel Tantoco Pineda

unrest5.jpg

Hi Mars,

I agree with Paowee, it was hard to tell that the film was shot in the US. I first watched this film on the DVD you sent me, but it’s on the big screen that I really appreciated the little details like the 1980’s license plate, passports, and even the design of the maids’ quarters that all lent authenticity to the film.

I thought it was great that you found a young Filipina who can speak fluent Tagalog – and without an American accent!  I was thinking that it’s difficult to find someone that age in our family who can speak our native language even if they’re all growing up here in the Philippines.  What more trying to seach for one among Filipino kids living in LA!

For movies, many are quick to praise an actor or director. But as the person who called the shots you deserve all the credit for setting the direction, high standards and producing a quality film. Again, congratulations on a great job! 🙂
