Le Sportsac Spring Summer 2011 Collection

Say goodbye to the frigid and gloomy winter and spring into action for Spring Summer 2011 as LeSportsac adds 21 new uplifting and colorful additions to its classic collection. To add to its many fashionable and comfortable designs, in Spring Summer 2011 LeSportsac introduces the trendy Medium Drawstring Crossbody and convenient Round Shoulder Duffle. The watercolor trend continues with Blossom Lake, a watercolor print about the beauty of nature. This breathtaking print has hand-painted swans, birds and butterflies. The fun continues with Zap Pow Pop an explosion of bright and bold colors. This ecstatic print is a Zap, Bang, Bonk of the comic book trend. Chrysalis is a simple all over pattern of blue tonal butterflies, flowers and more. Ending the season with a fashionable bang, in April, LeSportsac introduces SeaScape, a bright and happy print rich in coral shells and sea horses and Bangle, a fun and sophisticated batik print. The colorful swirl of lavender, orange and pink is perfect to wear and the beach for the upcoming summer.

For men this season, LeSportsac will be expands their already-thriving collection with the addition of four new prints this spring. The collection features notably stylish, yet functional and long-lasting pieces, in ten different styles such as the Multi-Task Briefcase and the Utility Messenger. The enlargement of the collection is truly kicking it up a notch with an addition of four prints. Sk8 Park is a creative, new print with graffiti-esqueartwork with dark undertones and color-popping skateboarding graphics. Truffle Stripe is more of a basic, functionable navy with subtle khaki striping that is easily coordinated with many different looks. Slate Lightening is also very versatile, but the gray color also has a touch of shine to create a dapper, new look for the fashionable male. Classic colors Black Onyx and Blaze will also continue to remain a part of the LeSportsac Men’s Collection.

Le Sportsac Joyrich Collection

le-sportsac-launch-opening039-small.jpeg

Known for its collaborations with names like Gwen Stefani, Stella McCartney, and Lilly Pulitzer, LeSportsac gears up for its Spring 2011 season with the brand’s latest collaborative partner, JOYRICH.

The Los Angeles design house, a stand-out brand in the contemporary streetwear market, interprets its vision of high-end yet accessible apparel, in this new collection with LeSportsac. The concept for the collaboration is a fusion of LeSportsac’s accessibility and universality with JOYRICH’s edgy and colorful sensibility that is high-end in appearance and contains a playful 90’s take on luxury brands.

The collection is available in 16 classic LeSportsac styles that have been given the JOYRICH treatment. All styles include JOYRICH’s signature gold triangle and to give the bags a more luxe feel all hardware and zipper pulls will also be in gold. LeSportsac’s iconic weekenders, Classic Hobo, Erika Tote, a bookbag, and a couple of cosmetics are just some of the styles included in the collection. The Pixie has been given a gold chain strap twinned with LeSportsac’s iconic grosgrain and the Heart Pouch have been given a removable crossbody chain mirroring the Pixie’s.

The JOYRICH Paula and Trislet will also include gold chain substitutions. The collaboration also reintroduces the Leigh duffle bag that functions as a tote or an extra roomy handbag. Laptop sleeves also make a re-appearance with added straps for more functionality. To add to all the gold and to enhance the fun of the collection, select styles will include an exclusive gold JOYRICH charm — a special gift with purchase that can be clipped to a belt loop, key-ring or just about anything.

le-sportsac-launch-opening025-custom.jpeg

JOYRICH also created three prints for the collection in custom fabrications. Chain is sateen that is inspired by the various gold elements of 90/80’s fashion—a fun and playful take on an oversized gold chain.

le-sportsac-launch-opening024-custom.jpeg

Numbered, a coated nylon, is inspired by luxury brands—a JOYRICH interpretation of classic monogram prints done a lighthearted ironic way. Another coated nylon, Leopard reflects JOYRICH’s love for animal prints and is a reflection of one of the brand’s best-selling prints.

le-sportsac-launch-opening021-custom.jpeg

The hot pink glitter element of print was done exclusively for LeSportsac. Shiny Quilted takes LeSportsac’s bestselling black patent and gives it a JOYRICH luxury feel with its chic quilting—a first for LeSportsac.

le-sportsac-launch-opening023-custom.jpeg

JOYRICH has created three new prints to run alongside the recurring Shiny Quilted, the quilted JOYRICH take on the classic LeSportsac black patent. The brand sticks to the stapleLeSportsac material of rip-stop nylon with the Union Jack print, a very direct reflection of the trend of the Union Jack in fashion. The print comes in two to-scale sizes, its bigger version meant to be carried on the bigger bags, and its smaller version on the smaller accessories. Similarly, Wonder Rose comes also in Wonder Rose Big. It is of cotton canvas material and showcases a crowd of roses against a white background. Jungle Cat remodels the standard animal print, a fundamental love of JOYRICH, as a mélange of various prints in a contemporary patchwork style.

LeSportsac teams up with Jeremyville for Spring Summer 2011

This Spring Summer 2011 LeSportsac welcomes everyone into the world of Jeremyville, the brand’s new Artist in Residence Jeremyville, artist and product designer, splits his time between 2 very contrasting studios: his chilled Bondi Beach studio in Sydney by the ocean, and his frantic studio in the Lower East Side of Downtown New York. The theme in this range that he created for LeSportsac is called ‘Inspirations’, and is based on the many sketches drawn in the neighborhood cafes of his 2 studios, and the imaginary landscapes made real by his pen. Traveling the world with his sketchbook, pen, and laptop in his backpack, Jeremyville’s studio is anywhere he opens up a blank page and starts drawing, and the 3 themes of this range reflect the spontaneity and inspiration he gets from the neighborhoods he is in:

Bondi Beach Sketchbook

This theme is based on the scenes from his neighborhood in Bondi Beach, where he grew up as a kid, and now has his studio: The skate park outside his window on Campbell Parade, the cafes he hangs out at on Hall Street, drawing, thinking and sketching, and the great surf of Bondi Beach. The beach at Bondi has always been a strong inspiration for Jeremyville, and his days are spent running along the sand or swimming in the ocean pool, then drawing these experiences back at the studio, or while having a coffeewith his creative partner Megan at the Icebergs Pool by the ocean’s edge, while the surf crashes 5 metres away.

le-sportsac-launch-opening031-custom.jpeg

Jeremyville NYC

Jeremyville’s favorite place on earth, New York City. Based on his drawings of each distinct neighborhood, and his iconic aerial views he imagines as he walks down the avenues of Manhattan, with his sketchbook in his ever-present shoulder bag. The frenetic energy of the Lower East Side is a particular inspiration, his studio is there, just off Rivington Street, and the noise and inspiration coming from the sidewalks feeds Jeremyville’s street art, fine art and toy design.

le-sportsac-launch-opening035-custom.jpeg

Tomorrow Forest

An imaginary, surreal world from the sketchbooks of Jeremyville, populated with strange furry creatures, enigmatic birdpeople, and lots of smiling mushroom creatures, with a faraway look in their eyes. The mascot of the theme ‘Inspirations’is the Magic Bunny, the furry muse of Jeremyville for this range he created for LeSportsac. The Magic Bunny followed him everywhere during this project, whispered occasionally into his ear, and guided Jeremyville with his drawings. You can find the Magic Bunny on a special shaped bag created for this range.

le-sportsac-launch-opening037-custom.jpeg le-sportsac-launch-opening038-custom.jpeg

All three prints are available in all ten original Artist in Residence styles. The collection will also include two exclusive styles made especially for the Jeremyville collection: the Bunny Tote (a whimsical take on the brand’s zip top shopper featuring a screen printed face of Jeremyville’s iconic bunny with actual nylon bunny ears that flop over the screen print) and small bunny Pouch that mirrors its bigger tote cousin.

Superga Spring Summer 2011 Collection & Alexa Chung

By | Fashion, Summer, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

The Style Icon Alexa Chung becomes the Face of Superga for their Centennial Anniversary

Alexa Chung, British model and TV personality, elected “Style Icon 2010” at the latest Fashion Awards and already defined by fashion magazines as the “best-dressed woman 2009 and 2010”, will team up with the Basic Group becoming the new face for Superga. To celebrate Superga’s centennial year anniversary, Alexa has chosen to wear, as icon of her everyday wardrobe, the historical 2750, a must-have for all those to whom style is a daily choice.

alexa-chung-for-superga-01.jpgalexa-chung-for-superga-02.jpgalexa-chung-for-superga-03.jpgalexa-chung-for-superga-04.jpg

It is no coincidence that also in the United Kingdom, the iconic sneaker is selling like hot cakes in cult stores, such as ASOS, Flannels and Oi Polloi, as well as on the famous fashion website my-wardrobe.com.

Superga was born in 1911, when Walter Martiny established a public limited company, which in 1925 began producing canvas shoes with vulcanized rubber soles, the iconic 2750s. The brand joined the Group in 2004.

Already a fan of the Italian brand, Alexa posed for an exclusive shoot featuring the iconic 2750. And, to capture the brand’s essence and character, she added her personal touch to the shoot with her styling and by playing with a look that perfectly matches simplicity and style.

Alexa’s decision to start this partnership on occasion of the centennial anniversary of Superga is a positive novelty factor to Superga. She is one of the most influential style icons of our time and a huge Superga fan. Her effortless style and personality suit the brand and the collection that she is going to wear in a very natural way.

Superga Q1Q2 2011

The Superga Q1Q2 2011 Collection has been developed by BasicSamples, the Style Research & Development Department of BasicNet S.p.A., the Turin-based company owner of the historic brand, which since 1925 has been producing the Superga 2750: the first canvas shoe with vulcanised sole.

BasicNet has consolidated the brand, whose name and tradition were associated worldwide to the Italian shoes, thus enabling Superga to take on the role of “People’s shoes of Italy” in the field of informal shoes.

For Q1Q2 2011 Superga presents a complete Men’s, Women’s, Unisex and Kid’s collection.

The new seasonal proposals of the 2750 highlight the great attention paid to the search for new materials, fabrics and colours, both for classic and brand new models: beside the 51 plain-coloured versions, the new models feature cotton with shaded effect, stone washed cotton, studs and crystals, pure Italian linen (plain and patterned) and shirt fabrics in many different Oxford patterns.

 superga-kids-upper-01.jpgsuperga-kids-upper-02.jpgsuperga-kids-upper-03.jpgsuperga-kids-upper-04.jpg

As for the Vulcanised line, evolution of the historic Superga shoes, the focus is on a more aggressive women’s version in different fabrics and models featuring a 100 or 60 heel, as well as the multi-coloured ballerina shoes, the 2750 Plus with removable insole and the new 2750 with lower foxing, realized in many different fabrics including (plain and patterned) Italian linen.

 superga-womens-upper-05.jpg

The collection also features a broader range of moccasins, the new edition of the Superga volleyball model of the Seventies and, for the most fashionable women, high and low sandals and clogs and many different versions, rope-wedge shoes, fashionable ballerina and décolleté shoes as well as many other summer suggestions.

In the Philippines, Superga is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Tower, Rustan’s Alabang, Eastwood Mall, and Greenbelt 5.

KATE SPADE NEW YORK CELEBRATES THE SUMMER WITH COLOR

INSPIRATION

Kate Spade New York continues with the year of color for the summer with new collections inspired by travels around the world. In April, the color of the month is green, inspired by travels to a lush tropical garden, where the Kate Spade New York girl checks into a villa overlooking the sea. In May, travels take the Kate Spade New York girl to a majestic hotel menagerie where she spends her afternoons in open air lodges where she watches brightly colored parrots perch on trees and giraffes roam the grounds. As the sun sets in the sky, the landscape is bathed in shades of orange, May’s color of the month. In June- the Kate Spade New York girl lands in California for the final days of her vacation. She makes her way across the country heading East, stopping in vintage flea markets along the way – picking up treasures like gold chunky chain necklaces and a gold shift dress that inspire June’s color of the month.

Sinequanone Spring Summer 2011 Collection

By | Fashion, Summer, What's New at Rustan's | 3 Comments

SUMMER 2011 …For a bring sunshine-filled break in beautiful Paris – anything goes!

ULTRA FEMINITY AND POETRY

This summer, the Sinequanone woman gives free rein to her imagination, a flower of flowers in her own garden. This summer, the Sinequanone woman is no femme fatale, she goes unadorned in a decorous girl’s frock, recalling the simplicity of the starlet, just a dress at twilight, when the lights are low… light as a falling petal, in a pastel palette of white, beige, pale pink or nude.

Some will prefer flowing styles rich in color.

This summer, seduction will be a question of length.

There will be flowers everywhere, plus vertical stripes that are fun to wear.

Total elegance in a pretty jumpsuit, or a long slinky dress, worn with a biker jacket – or perhaps today’s ultra-narrow silhouette, with a little, three-quarter sleeve tailored jacket, or a suit in white or palest pink.

Trousers will find their way into her wardrobe again, light and flowing, wide-legged or even flared.

Skirts will be full, straight or flower – shaped.

Belts will be the must-have accessory and wide-brimmed hats will be fashionable, without forgetting a multitude of scarves in the hair, very much the nicely brought up young lady…

No femme fatale, but a femme fleur instead, complete with seventies music – a flower-child…she loves me, she loves me not, she loves me…

Raoul Spring Summer 2011 Runway Show

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

THE GREAT ESCAPE

RAOUL brings guests on an exotic journey at its

Spring Summer 2011 Runway Show

RAOUL’s presentation of its Spring Summer 2011 collection was a great escape for guests as they were transported from the hustle and bustle of the city to a place reminiscent of long summer days and the romance of travel.

RAOUL’s Creative Directors, Odile and Douglas Benjamin were largely inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni’s The Passenger, where the exotic locations were the perfect backdrop to both Jack Nicholson and Maria Schneider looking effortlessly chic in the movie.

Fresh faced models with casually mussed hair and loose ponytails strutted around the U-shaped catwalk in looks that expressed their versatility and practicality, while reflecting old school glamour. Silhouettes were influenced by the 70s, but with a contemporary flair: From intricate lace that featured on playsuits and mini dresses to color blocked pieces and chic paperbag style shorts and skirts, the collection provided the ladies options for work, play and travel. The men’s collection was equally appealing, offering a unique combination of masculine styles in a light and refreshing pastel palette.
