On 20 December 2009, Hermès will open its very first boutique in Manila, in partnership with Anthony Huang, President of Luxury Concepts, Inc., a subsidiary of Stores Specialists, Inc.

The store, with a retail space of 120 square meters, will be located in the upscale Greenbelt 3 Mall in the city’s CBD in Makati. The boutique was designed by Rena Dumas Architecture Intérieure (RDAI), the Parisian interior architecture agency founded by Rena Dumas who creates the Hermès stores worldwide.

Hermès’ contemporary spirit will emanate from the shapes and composition of a store divided in two main areas: once passing the Hermès Ex-libris threshold, a bright space welcomes the visitors and is followed by a more intimate space dedicated to the ready-to-wear and jewelry. The boutique will carry a wide range of products made with ultimate care by the Hermès craftsmen: bags and luggage, diaries and small leather goods, equestrian pieces, silk, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches, belts, gloves, footwear, hats, enamel, art of living, tableware, and perfume.

Hermès was founded in 1837. Since its beginning in Paris as a maker of harnesses and saddles, six generations of enterprising artisans have opened up new domains and conquered new markets. Imbued with respect for the past and enthusiasm for the future, they transmitted to their successors the cult of beautiful materials crafted with excellence, the love of beautiful objects made to last and the spirit of innovation. The company is now led by CEO Patrick Thomas and the Artistic Direction is led by 6th generation family member, Pierre-Alexis Dumas.

Pictorial Session

By | Fashion, Photography, What's New at Rustan's | 4 Comments

I attended a pictorial session yesterday…I am not really a stage mother but I joined them last night for this one.  Enjoyed being with my cousins and watching them work.

I was not able to bring my big camera as I did not want to make the hired photographer uncomfortable with me taking shots with him – so I just used my small camera which I regretted later on 🙂

“Stage sister”, Kathy 🙂  I tease her because she is really a “stage sister!”  She watches over her sister and then makes sure everything goes smoothly for her.  What a good sister!

Timeless Glam

Clean and classic is what Longchamp has imbibed through the years. And with a myriad of trends growing season after season, Longchamp has maintained its timeless look of sleek lines and unprecedented style mirrored in their collections.

  longchamp4.jpg

It is that rush with it-bags that Longchamp takes it on with amusement especially with its newly shaped cubic bags using the same print design as real-live it-bags, such as the Légende or the Cosmos bag. This It-Bag series in cotton and linen canvas has the original and very beautiful leather handles found on the original ranges, giving it a more authentic effect.

longchamp2.jpg longchamp3.jpg

The label’s 3 signature bags Cosmos, Légende and Culte take on a new skin in the Exotic Chic collection. Enhanced by mocha, the ivory color brings elegance to the two-tone Culte bag, in its supple leather with its horn-style bamboo.  Another design is in snake-style leather that showcases a very refined and glittering bamboo.

Just as sophisticated, the Cosmos Patch bag parades its motif similar to the masks from ancient tribal cultures. This city version of the African trend has arrived to add that final touch of chic.

Defining the latest trends of the season, Longchamp remains true to its easy elegant flair.

Longchamp is exclusively distributed by Rustan’s Commercial Corporation. Longchamp is available in Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Tower and Rustan’s Cebu.

RUSTAN’S THE BEAUTY SOURCE PRESENTS THE JOJIE LLOREN COLLECTIONS FOR JILL AND LUNA

Versatility in design and structure takes shape in the latest collection of chic brands Jill and Luna. Alongside a successful collaboration with Rustan’s and feted designer Jojie Lloren, Jill and Luna moves into a different direction weighing up every woman’s dynamic taste and lifestyle.

Considered as one of the country’s most eminent designers, Jojie Lloren has conquered the industry with his fashion forward creativity. Known for his architectural designs, Lloren’s designs express a myriad of characters that go with each woman’s discerning tastes. With numerous awards under his belt namely the Grand prize in the Philippine Young Designers Competition and the Grand Prize at the Concours de Jeunes Creataurs de Mode in Paris he has proven himself a pioneering designer of his time.

This time around, Lloren infuses his unorthodox fashion to two of Rustan’s top women’s fashion labels – Jill and Luna. Jill’s relaxed and casual sense of style exudes easy elegance for everyday wear. Playing and giving emphasis on women’s curves, Lloren for Jill gives life to what he connotes as blobitecture. The bulging of the sleeves together with some amoeba-shaped silhouettes speaks of this language. A mixture of colors sees black and white in a perfect blend with red, orange, blue, purple and green. With a woman’s dynamic lifestyle in mind, the holiday months starting November sees Jill in different color palettes. November has red, orange, blue and yellow and fun filled December highlights blue and purple.jill-and-luna-9.jpg

Luna on the other hand places women on the red carpet. Chic for any occasion, Luna plays with movement and shape through Geometry. A combination of the old and new, the look circles in on the classic 50s couture tied with modern architecture. In a mix and match of materials, Lloren’s designs for Luna are formed with pleated chiffon, chiffon and organza. The shades are a blend of black and off white together with brights such as fuchsia and aqua.

Stunning and masterfully designed, Jojie Lloren has certainly brought in the right blend of elegance and flair for the fashionista. Available at Rustan’s starting this November, Jojie Lloren’s collections for Jill and Luna gives women a new style statement with each ensemble never ceasing to surprise.

Brands Jill and Luna by Jojie Lloren are exclusively distributed by Rustan’s and are available at Rustan’s Makati and Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza mall.

Graphic Opulence

An escapade at  the resort isle of Capri shaped and inspired Emilio Pucci.

 pucci1.jpg

A mix of updated and new prints are weaved throughout the collection. Designer Matthew Williamson started with one of the house’s most celebrated, iconic prints, Vivara, and updated the swirling pattern into a fresh design with an angular, graphic form. Called Il Madera, the multi-hued design turns up in two scales, oversized on strong shouldered jackets paired with white separates, and in miniature on a jersey caftan dress with mesh inserts on its sides. Designed with the feel of a classic Pucci pattern, new print Riviera has kinetic lines and white spaces that appear to move around the body. Another new pattern, Tiger, features a bold jungle design that shows up printed on mesh voile jumpsuit.

 pucci4.jpg

Printed looks are spliced with a series of color block, off the shoulder dresses in thick jersey with cutout details, one-piece tri-color swimsuits, and Airtex laser-cut nappa leather pieces to add a sporty, youthful edge. A palm tree frond design is overprinted on buttery nappa cream cropped jackets, and reprised in a green and pink jacquard fabric.

pucci2.jpg

Eveningwear shimmers: beads, pailettes and square-cut sequins are sprinkled over baggy T-shirt and backless dresses. A sweeping georgette gown reveals a pretty filigree silver detail on its décolleté.

Accessories include slouchy, soft oversized beige python bags with gold metal handles, mesh totes — their handles recalling a striped snake, and oversized printed terry toweling beach bags. Glazed fishskin clutches are in tones of lime, turquoise, black and white.

Fruity color palette of pink, purple, orange, peach, lime, yellow and mint.

Pucci can be found at Rustan’s Makati and Rustan’s Tower.
