We all know Dedet as the famous Pepita’s Lechon.

New From Pepita’s Kitchen October 22, 2013

Dedet is such a warm and simple person.  She’s always so soft spoken and so humble despite the success she is enjoying with her business.  And if you have had a degustation or have seen some photos from her dinners, you will always see her two little Pepitas helping out.  They are always there with Dedet.  And there’s a third little Pepita, an angel.  Aside from sharing with you her lechon here at Heart2Heart, there’s a heartwarming story I would like to share, about this little angel who continues to watch over the Pepitas.  Dedet wrote the story for all of you and here it is

From Lileya and Liyora – do contact them  ( projectwheelchair3@gmail.com ) if you would like to donate cash, or  wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, whether brand new or second hand.  A brand new wheelchair where Dedet gets wheelchairs costs around P 2,600, walkers P 1,000 and crutches for P 600.00 a pair.  They started this project for kids but now it is for anyone who is in need for wheelchairs

Keyakizaka at the Grand Hyatt Roponggi

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

This feature was left out because I was not able to try this restaurant in Tokyo but my sister did and I remembered to ask her to send me the photos so I could share it because she told me that it was a really good teppanyaki restaurant.  It was New Year’s Day and many places are closed in Tokyo.  They went to the Roponggi area to go to church and then walked around searching for a place to eat lunch and they discovered this place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel

My Kitchen by Chef Chris

By | Foodie | 2 Comments

We finally got to try the restaurant of Chef Chris Locker.  It’s a bit far for us but we took advantage last year during the All Saints All Souls Day holiday when many people were out of town so it was easy to get there

For Richard and Sasa

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 2 Comments

We are grateful to Richard and Sasa for making our visit to Moscow a memorable one.  We are also grateful for a new friendship to a wonderful couple who we love dearly 🙂  In celebration for all these blessings, Dad and Mom welcomed them to their home.  We were happy to have their children Elliot and Max and Jorge ( brother of Sasa) and Maita join us!  We love you all 🙂

A wonderful dinner prepared by Gourmet Garage with Chef Booj

Mom brought back some beef from Tokyo and fresh wasabi which went so well with the steak!gourmet-garage-catering.jpg

Back at Relish

By | Foodie | One Comment

It was nice to be back at Relish this time for a business lunch.  The place was jam packed!!  It’s so nice to see that even after several years, they are going strong!!  It’s been three years since they opened in 2010.  More power to Rachelle Rodrigo Almario and the Relish family!!

DasBea Wedding Banquet

By | Bridal, Foodie | No Comments

The reception was catered by Gaita Fores.   They served Filipino food to go with the theme.  There were some additional food like the Castañas booth, puto bungbung and bibingka booth, and some food from Vargas Kitchen.  Gaita always has some new details in her work – the Whiskey fountain was a first, the handwritten name tags hanging on the chairs and the food labels with her handwriting were beautiful with ribbons hanging from them

Omae XEX

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

Our last meal before leaving Tokyo.  Omae XEX which used to be Morimoto XEX by Iron Chef Morimoto.  We all enjoyed our experience.

Room where the beef is being dry aged

If they have a foie teppanyaki dish, I always like to try in case there is a unique way of cooking it – it was just the usual 🙂

Some got ala carte and a few got the set meal

We loved the desserts which was quite unique- It’s called Rare cheesecake 🙂 It’s really rare because this is the first time I have seen and tasted something like it.  It has fresh musk melon on top too 🙂
