Heart2Heart always likes to try new but Dad and Mom just love to go back to their favorites!

Seryna – We had the usual but this time I decided to try their crab tempura and we had the steak grilled instead of on the stone- the stone is still much better

Meisen- love love tonkatsu!  As usual the lines were so long.  James actually went early and lined up which is why we were able to get a table

Of course Heart2Heart has to have one box of Pino a day whenever in Japan for dessert

img_0769.JPG

New flavor:  Caramel Pino but I still prefer the original one

Kani Doraku – Dad and Mom wanted to treat Lola for her birthday so we took her to our favorite crab place- Kani Doraku- we found out that they had a branch in Ginza with a very very nice view of Ginza!

Sushizanmai Tsukiji Market

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

After Hakone, we all headed to Tsukiji Market for dinner.  We just asked our tour guide to suggest and we were so happy where he took us!!  It is normally very hard to find a restaurant in Japan  that can accommodate a big group but fortunately he took us to this place which we all liked.  It was not only sushi and sashimi but they had a wide variety of dishes and met everyone’s food taste!

img_0785aaa.jpgimg_0790.JPGimg_0793.JPGimg_0800.JPG

They started coming out with all these fresh seafood

img_0799.JPG

Those live prawns became this

img_0816.jpgimg_0807.JPGimg_0808.JPGimg_0820.JPG

Everyone loves TORO especially my husband!  We had it in all forms.  It is very expensive to have it in the city or anywhere else.  I think Tsukiji market is probably the most reasonable place to have it

img_0815.JPG

This was my order and loved it!! O-Toro steak!!  I do not normally eat toro or much of the raw sashimis but when I saw this on the menu, it looked good because they cook the outer part of the toro!

 img_0843.JPG

IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Many of us ordered this

img_0819.JPGimg_0825.JPG

My seatmate and cousin, Angela, ordered a set order with all forms of tuna 🙂

img_0840.JPGimg_0838.JPGimg_0829.JPGimg_0837.JPGimg_0822.JPG

and for those who don’t eat sashimi and sushi- tempura is the savior!  🙂

img_0841.JPGimg_0842.JPG

The happiest of them all, Tito Johnny who only ate tempura during our trip!! Dad made sure I put his happy photo 🙂

Tonkatsu

By | Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

Our first Japanese meal in Tokyo!  It’s easy to just go to any department store – go to the top floor where they have many kinds of restaurants to choose from.  It’s convenient because it is all on the same floor and you just choose what you want

img_0275.JPG

This poster outside caught our attention and we chose to have tonkatsu.  We do not even know the name of the restaurant 🙂 It’s all in Japanese.  Thanks to the photos and the mock ups plus sign language! 🙂

img_0247.jpgimg_0248.jpgimg_0256.jpgimg_0255.JPG

Love Love japanese tonkatsu!!!!!

img_0250.jpgimg_0268.JPGimg_0269.JPGimg_0249.jpgimg_0272.JPG

I love it that they have pink salt!

img_0253.jpg

They give you these seeds and wooden stick that you have to crush

img_0262.JPGimg_0265.JPG

 add the tonkatsu sauce

img_0258.JPG

Then mix with the seeds..YUMMY! 🙂

Shomal Kebabs and Curries by Hossein

By | Foodie | No Comments

I am discovering more of Trinoma mall ever since Golden Spoon opened here.  And I am happy that my friend, Mr. Hossein, has a restaurant here.  Brenda and I didn’t have to think hard where we wanted to eat in the mall.  We had our usual order which we shared – beef kebab, Mirsa Qasemi and fried rice!  Yummy! 🙂

The Inn at Cliffhouse, Tagaytay

By | Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

After the wedding in Tagaytay Midlands, Dad and Mom had a great idea to check in somewhere nearby rather than go home in the dark.  We stayed at this place which Mom heard about from Tito Rico and Tita Nena and Hindy who have stayed here before.   It was a great excuse to stop by and stay the night!
