Home Cooking

By | Foodie | No Comments

Tina invited us to come over to try the cooking of her Tita’s cook as she was trying her out and having her teach her cooks some dishes.  Of course we immediately accepted the invitation!  We are always willing tasters 🙂

Heart2Heart loves home cooked meals and loves cooks who cook at home and makes us feel like we are in a restaurant 🙂 There were two evenings of this and we enjoyed both.

Thank you to Gerry and Tina for always inviting us….

Of course, Paloma always shows herself after dinner and sits with us in the table

The Ultimate Round Dining Table

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 2 Comments

We attended a very interesting dinner last month. It was a great experience and we were so happy Dad and Mom took us along to the dinner. We hear so much raves about Tito Robbie and Tita Helen from Dad and Mom, so it was a priviledge to actually join them……. and we had an instant admiration for them.

Thank you Tito Robbie and Tita Helen for sharing your home and your beautiful family with us.

 img_5323.jpgimg_5331.jpg

I normally feature people, food and table setting but this time, there were so many other things that were different from the usual

Remember when I featured the ROUND DINING TABLE? ( Click on link below )

https://heart-2-heart-online.com/2008/07/22/the-round-dining-table/

Tito Robbie will not eat in any restaurant that does not have a round  dining table! Tito Robbie even has his own round table in Antonio’s whenever he goes there.  Now you know where Dad and Mom get the inspiration for their round table

This was our dining table that evening

 img_5324.JPG

And according to Tita Helen, his dining table keeps growing and growing. The table we had for dinner was good for 18 but the real table that will come will be good for 22.

Tita Helen also told me that there are 3 things that are required when having dinner with Tito Robbie

1.)  You have to remove your shoes and you have to wear slippers which they so kindly provide 🙂

img_5334.jpgimg_5320.JPGimg_5321.JPG

2.)  You need to talk about yourself and update everyone of the latest things you have been up to.  For us since we were new to everyone, we just introduced ourselves. I am very very shy and don’t normally like talking about myself but I do enjoying listening to others talk because I learn so much from them.  That evening, everyone had to talk about themselves and not only did I learn a lot  from my seatmates ( which is what normally happens ) but it seems like I got to talk to the whole table and we were 17 all in all.  I noticed that in this dinner,  I could not concentrate on my food as I was very interested in listening to everyone.

img_5367.JPGimg_5365.JPGimg_5380.JPG

3.)  There must be a group photo after the dinner

img_5400.jpg

And this is what we had for dinner…..

CRU at the Marriott

By | Foodie | One Comment

It’s our first time to visit the new Marriott Hotel, Resorts World Manila

img_5673.jpgcru-1.jpg

Mainly to try the Steakhouse, Cru.  It’s a very impressive restaurant and we had no complaints in terms of ambience, service, quality of food, dining experience etc etc.  They did a very good job!!  There is however room for improvement for the steaks which should be the specialty of the place.

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 4 Comments

Another wonderful evening with Suharto and Rina who invited us to join them for dinner as they were hosting at their home for Gilbert and Nikki

gilbertandnikki4.jpg

We were so happy to see Manolet and Maya and then to meet the rest of the family… a very nice family – Brothers – Ernest, Manolet, Quito and the wives, Malou and Maya.  We missed Vicky who was not able to attend.  A family that supported all the way their cousin, Gilbert which is why Heart2Heart would call this the victory party 🙂  because family and friends support each other through thick and thin!

A home cooked meal by Suharto and Rina..except for the Lechon

img_5799.JPGgilbertandnikki3.jpggilbertandnikki5.jpggilbertandnikki6.jpggilbertandnikki7.jpggilbertandnikki8.jpg

Suharto makes a Pimm’s drink for me which I really like

Wingman Grill, The Collective

By | Foodie | 5 Comments

Heart2Heart loves chicken wings!!!!!!!!!!!  So we definitely ate here too! I think we have been to the Collective 4 times already going back and forth.  We have to keep going back to try the new places and then need to go back again with my kids because for sure they will like the shops and the ramen resto which we still have to try

img_6391.jpgimg_6383.jpg

Will Yeh and Mike Chueh were there, 2 out of the 5 owners of Wingman!

img_5946.JPGimg_6382.jpgimg_6380.jpgimg_5947.jpgimg_5952.jpg

Iron Skillet Queso- their version of nachos and cheese.  YUMMY!! The plate with the onions and tomato  is for the quesadilla

img_6361.jpg

Here is the quesadilla

img_6363.jpg

Bucket for sauces and seasonings

img_6368.jpg

Home Run Sliders

img_6365.jpg

I took out the top so I could see the inside – Chimichurri, Wingman burger and  the Cowboy burger- Heart2Heart’s favorite was the Cowboy burger

img_6367.jpg

THE WINGMAN WINGS!!!!  YUM YUM YUMMY ALL THE WINGS!!

You can order a dozen and half it into 2 flavors.  It’s a better deal to order a dozen at  P 280.00 since half a dozen is P 180.00 🙂

Choose also your level of spiciness- we just chose the medium since we do not really like spicy

Lemon and Pepper and Hickory barbeque

All wings come with ranch sauce but you can order blue cheese sauce

img_6370.jpg

Buffalo wings and Garlic Parmesan – MY FAVORITE EVER IS GARLIC PARMESAN!  I like all but I love the Garlic Parmesan the BEST!

img_6373.jpg

Here it is up close, garlic Parmesan!

By | Foodie | 5 Comments

This is a close up on Happy Palace, the restaurant of Paolo and Trina in the Collective.

img_6086.JPG

Trina is there everyday til 3am cooking!!!!  I really admire this friend of mine! Believe me when I say she is into everything and is really a hard working woman!

MyStyle Services, Inc. March 13, 2008

And to think she always looks so fresh and so HAPPY while cooking in the kitchen all day! 🙂 She is very very busy and doing very well in her new venture!

img_6389.jpgimg_6819.JPG

A very clean open kitchen

img_6822.JPG

I need to ask Trina the names of her fishy friends 🙂  Look for the cute fish bowls by the counter

img_6820.JPGimg_6821.JPGimg_6823.JPGimg_6087.jpgimg_6098.JPG

Their bestseller is the All mix mongolian which has beef, chicken, pork and seafood!

img_6099.JPG

But I got the chicken bowl, which was so so yummy!!!

img_6826.JPG

While javier ordered the sisig.  Trina said you need to specify if you like it crispy to get it crispy, so mention it when you order

img_6360.JPG

Love the coffee jelly!! YUM YUM!
