Breakfast at Escolta

By | Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy! | One Comment

We enjoyed our breakfast at Escolta ( Manila Peninsula Hotel ) ! We arrive already at the tail end of breakfast which ends at 10:30 am and transitions into brunch which is even heavier than what you will see here. Heart2Heart likes Escolta because it promotes our very own country, it’s Filipino inspired!

Urameshi Ya

By | Foodie | 4 Comments

Our friend, Mykie, has been telling us to eat at Urameshi ya.  Finally we tried the place

img_0355.JPG

It was our first time to go inside Little Tokyo- even if we are always in the area

img_0356.jpgimg_0357.jpgimg_0359.JPGimg_0360.JPG

Heating the charcoal for the Yakiniku

img_0361.jpgimg_0362.jpgimg_0363.jpgimg_0364.JPG

It’s a very small restaurant with booth seating.

img_0365.jpgimg_0374.jpg

Poor Dad he had to climb to get inside the booth and the aircon in the restaurant was so hot that evening with one of the aircons not working well.  We should have just left 🙁  But anyway, make sure the aircon is working because the added heat from the griller makes it even hotter.  They do have exhaust but just make sure the aircon is functioning well

img_0389.JPGimg_0387.JPGimg_0379.JPG

The menu is in Japanese….the waitress has to explain.  We only ordered the Yakiniku which is their specialty

img_0367.jpgimg_0368.jpgimg_0369.jpgimg_0370.jpgimg_0371.jpgimg_0372.jpgimg_0386.JPG

Yakiniku sauce – make sure to add the raw garlic 🙂

img_0375.JPG

The grill

img_0376.JPG

Beef Tongue

img_0378.JPG

We tried 2 kinds of beef the Karubi and the Jyukusei Harami- of course as the price goes higher, the beef gets better 🙂 So make sure you save the best for last 🙂

img_0381.JPGimg_0382.JPGimg_0390.JPG

YUMMY!!!

Momo Cafe

By | Foodie | No Comments

I am discovering the Eastwood area and was happy to try Momo Cafe in Eastwood Mall!!  It is run by the same owners as Chelsea Market and Mr. Jones which explains why Heart2Heart likes it! We had a late lunch so it was merienda already.  Enjoyed the food and want to try the other things on the menu but it was just Brenda and I…I noticed that in American type of restaurants, they have big portions and food is quite rich, so it is always good to come in a big group where you can order more dishes, share them and enjoy trying everything! 🙂

Joint Birthday Celebration at Antonio’s

By | Celebrations, Foodie | One Comment

This was Dad and Mom’s treat to all of us celebrating our birthdays!  We always have a joint birthday celebration since me and my siblings are all April and one in May but we missed our other brother this time who was out of town.  So it is almost an annual event.  It was a busy weekend and some of us were a bit hesitant to go all the way to Tagaytay but then Mom tells us that she really takes time out to plan for all of us….which she really does despite her busy schedule and we do really appreciate her love and effort for all of us!! So of course, we were COMPLETE! 🙂  And though we all love Antonio’s, I whispered to Mom that I thought that it was more her favorite than ours!  🙂

We of course had a great time and enjoyed the food!!!
