My Bestfriend’s 40th Birthday

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 4 Comments

It was 27 years ago when we were first year highschool and I first met Eds.  We are best friends because we are alike in many ways – like we will never pose alone for the camera- so we are always together in a picture….We are both shy 🙂  So, This feature almost never came out because I had to convince her that Heart2Heart will not be complete without her special day!

Happy 40th Birthday to the nicest, the simplest, the kindest, friend of everyone, the best real estate broker in town – my bestfriend Eds! I love you and we will be BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!!

dsc_7705.jpgeds40th23.jpg

By | Foodie | One Comment

Last year, Mom prepared a  homemade Japanese lunch for Tita Precy, of course it is special for Tita Precy because Mom says she always takes care of us and treats us “special” as well 🙂 It was nice to meet Carlo and Paolo, her two nephews who also joined us

Gourmet To Go

By | Foodie, What's New at Rustan's | 4 Comments

After eating our halo halo in Milky Way ( Milky Way Halo Halo  Jan 18, 2010 ), We were  walking by Rustan’s ( Rockwell branch ) and we saw the new Gourmet To Go Counter my cousin, Donnie, was telling me about!  WOW!!! You won’t miss it, it is right in front of the supermarket.  It is easy to order, grab and go!

p1150462.JPGp1150454.JPGp1150453.JPGp1150456.JPGp1150457.JPGp1150459.jpg

And just today when I went to Rustan’s Supermarket Makati, I bumped into  Tita Beth Romualdez, who is behind Gourmet To Go.  She is now setting it up in the Makati branch which I am very very happy about because this is where I really go for my shopping and grocery. I am looking forward to it!!

My Mother’s Garden by Malu Veloso

By | Fashion, Foodie | 8 Comments

Mom invited us to join her lunch in honor of Tito Stephen and Tita Reggie who are visiting.  Tita Reggie recommended this place by Tita Malu Veloso which we have been wanting to try

The restaurant is located in her Mom’s home

 malu-veloso1.jpg

The house was designed by her father which is why it has a lot of sentimental value to her

dsc_5493.JPGdsc_5521.jpg

and who has built many well known buildings in the country

It was a very good buffet lunch prepared by Tita Malu’s kitchen

She makes all the desserts herself

Manila Golf Lunch

By | Foodie | No Comments

We went to Manila Golf ( The Best View in Makati Aug 6, 2009 ) since Javier wanted to play golf…

p1130284.jpgp1130283.jpg

But, we really came to have lunch 🙂 They have a new concessionaire running the kitchen and they serve Bravo pizza which we all love because it is super thin!

p1130267.JPGp1130268.JPGp1130270.JPGp1130272.JPG

And they have some chinese dishes

p1130269.JPG

Dimsum

p1130273.JPGp1130274.JPG

Salt and pepper squid which we questioned as we did not see any salt and pepper and argued that this was calamares

Some of their old dishes like the mozzarella sticks

BBQ Chicken

By | Foodie | No Comments

We finally got to try BBQ Chicken.  Our brother, John, has been telling us to go since last year and it was only now that we had the chance to try it.  We treated Daddy to lunch because we know he likes chicken- especially grilled chicken

p1150382.JPGp1150386.JPGp1150387.JPGp1150388.JPGp1150391.JPGp1150424.JPGp1150425.JPG

Their bestseller which is their original chicken – it reminds me of KFC but in a milder form and does not taste as commercial.  The chicken was really tender and it was really good 🙂  It comes with their rice, but I requested for plain rice

p1150434.JPG

Grilled Chicken Bugalbi is their next bestseller which was also very good.  This is like the korean bbq chicken and it is grilled

p1150435.JPGp1150438.JPG

Teri Q Wings

p1150442.JPG

Seafood fried rice

p1150439.JPG

They have daily specials aside from the menu

p1150392.jpgp1150393.jpgp1150394.jpgp1150400.jpgp1150401.jpgp1150409.jpg

Heart2Heart likes the Col-Pop idea where the drink and the chicken are in one cup, Unique idea 🙂

p1150410.jpgp1150411.jpgp1150412.jpgp1150414.jpgp1150416.jpgp1150417.jpgp1150418.jpgp1150420.jpgp1150421.jpgp1150423.jpgp1150426.jpgp1150428.jpg

This was the promo when we ate there last week

This is the newest one now, so I guess it changes often

They have another branch on the same street which is purely for takeout and they have a different menu, here it is:

Dina’s Sunday Lunch

By | Foodie | One Comment

We also look forward to Dina’s turn for Sunday lunch.  When it is her turn, her food is prepared by her very loyal and reliable cook, Nelia.  Nelia learns quickly and can make many kinds of dishes.  Dina and I rely on our cooks for our Sunday lunches – Nelia and Edna ( Homemade Spanish Dinner January 22, 2009 ) – We are lucky we have them!
