Asian Spices at Segara Village

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Inside Segara Village they have a restaurant to service the guests and outsiders as well.  We wanted to try it so we had dinner there and we enjoyed the ambience and the food.  It is okay for Subic standards and considering they had just opened.   We were a big group so we placed our orders in advance to be sure they could handle us.  We almost occupied the whole place so it felt like we were in  our own private dining room 🙂

Chelsea Market with Eric and Mig

By | Foodie | No Comments

Mig was leaving for New York and not taking us with him, so we just had lunch at Chelsea Market so we could feel like we were in New York 🙂

Eric kept feeding us and dumping food on our plate, we figured it was his tactic so he would not eat too much!!  I will follow that technique too 🙂 Thanks guys for the lunch- next time, we should take our time, not rush and eat more!!

Pepato

By | Foodie | One Comment

Pepato is one of my most favorite restaurants!  Most of the dishes being catered by Cibo are from the menu of Pepato.  YUMMY! I like the fact that you can order tasting portions of the pasta so you can have small portions and not have to eat the whole order.  Now that I am looking at my photos, i want to go back again!

Lemon Cafe

By | Foodie, Travel | 3 Comments

We had some time to meet up for lunch with our good friend Gil and soon to be bride Christine, who were in Boracay over the weekend.  It was so nice to see them.  We had lunch in Lemon Cafe which was also in the recommended list of Jigger and May. We had a light lunch since we knew we had another big event that evening.

As soon as we arrived and settled down in the hotel which was around 1:00 pm, we wanted to have a light meal as we were expecting much for dinner. We ended up going to number one on the list and a familiar and popular place,  ARIA

One pizza to share for two was enough for us

Dining in Baguio

By | Foodie, Travel | 4 Comments

My friend, Melissa, asked me for the Top 5 restaurants in Baguio…. That is a tough one to answer!  Only because when we are in Baguio, we always eat at home.  Mom prepares the best meals at home and we do not have to go anywhere else.  We eat outdoors all the time to take advantage of the cool weather which we cannot do in Manila.  We have Misono/Teppanyaki, Fondue, Barbeque, and Mongolian Barbeque. Mom brings up all her equipments and ingredients together with her whole household to make sure we are fully equipped.  WHAT A MOM!  We are so lucky we have her to feed us! 🙂

Last month we went to Baguio for three days and so we were able to have fondue and misono/teppanyaki

Raclette as appetizer! YUMMY!!!

Mom made sure I took a photo of her battery operated peppermill which she is so proud of 🙂

Watercress salad with truffle oil – Mom always makes sure she has watercress in Baguio which you can get in abundance at the market

Teppanyaki/Misono

Mom prepares Vitalite instead of regular butter

Of course truffle oil and truffle salt… and now Mom is introducing Grape Seed oil to us

And freshly ground sea salt!

FONDUE

Appetizer:  Cheese fondue

baguiooutdoor-dining22.jpg

We all like to eat the crunchy part after – “tutong” 🙂  YUMMY!

baguiooutdoor-dining23.jpg

Mom has her own fondue sauces which are different from mine and she claims hers is better 🙂

baguiooutdoor-dining24.jpgbaguiooutdoor-dining25.jpg

For fondue, we have broth and oil – for the health conscious ones, they use broth.  For the oil, Mom uses olive oil

Dessert:  Chocolate fondue

Kikufuji

By | Foodie | One Comment

Kikufuji is one of the favorite restaurants of Dad and Mom.  They love it here because they serve dishes that are not found in other japanese restaurants.   The menu is in Japanese without English translation, but for some reason, we know exactly what to order when we go here.  The place is always full and when you see Japanese eating in a Japanese restaurant…that only means it is the REAL thing!

Xtremely Espresso

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Definitely another restaurant to go to when in Subic.  Thanks to Tita Nena and Katrina for recommending the place.  We used to pass by this place on the way to the church but never go to eat here and to think it has been there for five years already.  It’s American style with big portions so it’s good for big groups and sharing. We ordered everything recommended by Tita Nena
