Mingo Feeding at Carles Iloilo

By | For kids, Giving Back, Health and Fitness | No Comments

In the island of Carles it was nice to see many children – even nicer to see children taking care of (I would assume) their younger siblings, carrying them in their arms

Camille Tolentino Geuino introduced Mingo to the community and donates enough Mingo good for two months  It’s not only feeding them but providing the needed nutrition they need

The Sandy Project and A Tribute to Sandy

By | For kids, Health and Fitness, Household Tips, Medical, Tributes | One Comment

Sandy continues to be in our hearts and in our lives as she spreads the word about dengue and how to protect ourselves from becoming a victim.  Sandy’s family are keeping her spirit alive through their recently launched project – The Sandy Project.  Sharing it hear in Heart2Heart and I am asking you to spread this to all your friends and family and especially to children so they can be aware of dengue

Yesterday, Sandy’s school gave a very beautiful tribute for her!  I am so glad I took videos!  I worked on this quickly so please bear with me.  I hope it will still capture the essence of the event.  Thank you Peaches for making me a part and making me cry with everyone else!  Thank you for allowing me to document this wonderful tribute.  You are truly blessed

Here are some photos which I will post as well from the video.  It was my first time to visit MGIS Mahatma Gandhi International School.  A very nice school with only around 150 students so approximately 10 per level.  So almost everyone knows each other here 🙂  It’s an IB school

When I arrived in the school, I saw this poster!!  The kids of Peaches are all champions in archery including Sandy!

 Everyone gathered in the auditorium

 For a tribute

 Spearheaded by Headmistress Rebecca Warren

They prepared song numbers, slideshows and planted a beautiful tree in commemoration of Sandy

Remembering Sandy

By | For kids, Tributes | 3 Comments

A year ago today, my batchmate’s daughter passed away because of dengue.  Sandy was only 10 years old.  Today Heart2Heart remembers Sandy.  I wore pink today not only because I like pink but because Sandy liked pink too.  When this happened last year, many people were asking me about it, so here is the story from her Father, Clint.  And the beautiful wake all in pink

Protect Yourself from Dengue

By | For kids, Health and Fitness | No Comments

Dengue is and has been rampant and we really need to be more aware on how we can prevent this deadly disease.  Sharing herewith some tips which my batchmate Tisha shared with us.  It’s meant for Austin Texas, but we can apply most of them here in the Philippines

And my tip is to always spray yourself with antimosquito spray and the best out there is Cadentia’s Antimosquito cologne which acts as a repellant at the same time keeps you smelling good and pleasant

We all know Dedet as the famous Pepita’s Lechon.

New From Pepita’s Kitchen October 22, 2013

Dedet is such a warm and simple person.  She’s always so soft spoken and so humble despite the success she is enjoying with her business.  And if you have had a degustation or have seen some photos from her dinners, you will always see her two little Pepitas helping out.  They are always there with Dedet.  And there’s a third little Pepita, an angel.  Aside from sharing with you her lechon here at Heart2Heart, there’s a heartwarming story I would like to share, about this little angel who continues to watch over the Pepitas.  Dedet wrote the story for all of you and here it is

From Lileya and Liyora – do contact them  ( projectwheelchair3@gmail.com ) if you would like to donate cash, or  wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, whether brand new or second hand.  A brand new wheelchair where Dedet gets wheelchairs costs around P 2,600, walkers P 1,000 and crutches for P 600.00 a pair.  They started this project for kids but now it is for anyone who is in need for wheelchairs
