Diane Von Furstenberg for Gap Kids and Baby Gap

By | For kids, Summer, What's New at Rustan's | One Comment

Gap is proud to announce the launch of its first collection by Diane von Furstenberg for GapKids and babyGap for Spring 2012, for girls from newborn to age 14.

 dvf-for-gap-1.jpg

Launching exclusively in Gap Shangri-La Plaza and Gap Boniifacio High Street this March, the collection captures the essence of a little girl’s dream wardrobe, as imagined by an icon of American women’s fashion. Diane, alongside the design team at Gap, has created a collection true to her unique style, while her experiences as a mother and grandmother have informed designs that will delight girls and their Moms alike. Iconic prints, signature silhouettes and a bold color palette are translated into magical dresses that aspire to Mommy’s style as well as provide a girl’s Summer wardrobe essentials including easy t-shirt dresses, tanks and shorts, capris, leggings and swimwear. Accessories, including sunglasses, espadrilles and sandals, provide all the wardrobe building blocks that empower a young girl to playfully experiment with her evolving style and individuality, from pretty girlish dresses to rough and tumble essentials.

dvf-x-gap.jpg dvf-for-gap.jpg

At the heart of the collection are vintage Diane von Furstenberg prints, including the instantly recognizable hibiscus and leaf motifs. Diane’s signature prints meet Gap’s relaxed style, and are playfully mixed, encouraging young girls to be bold and play with their personal style. The legendary wrap is re-invented with a child-like higher waist detail, in structured cotton or as a jersey romper shape for babies and toddlers.

The dress collection continues with a series of exquisite cotton shift dresses that incorporate print with a refined appliqué daisy detail or delicate layers of cotton voile, as well as an elegant white cotton eyelet style that’s perfect for the Summer months.

At the heart of every collection from Gap, the t-shirt, in pink and heather grey, bears a new Gap DVF motif, that also appears on flip-flops, ballet pumps, jersey tanks, leggings, sun-hats, beach bags, sunglasses and hi-top sneakers,

as well as the lining of one of the star pieces – a navy stripe seersucker blazer, customized with a “Diane von Furstenberg” crest and badges calling out “DVF  Gap” and Diane’s personal mantra “Love is Life.”

For Moms and the youngest babies, vintage prints appear on onesies and rompers.

Diane von Furstenberg comments, “I am thrilled to collaborate with Gap on this playful collection for girls. It is timeless…colorful…effortless. That is very DVF!”

A French Carnaval for Alessi

By | Celebrations, For kids | 4 Comments

Another breathtaking party by my good friend, Grace!  This girl is truly amazing in organizing and creating memorable occassions!!  How she transformed the ballroom and how she put together all the details of her party.  The contents of the Patisserie were even bought abroad and she put them all together to come up with the theme.  All the moms ( especially me )  were the ones raiding the Patisserie of Alessi 🙂

Happy Birthday to the little Princess, Alessi!

Your Baby’s Cord Blood The Gift of a Lifetime

By | For kids, Great Inventions, Health and Fitness | No Comments

I wish they had this technology when I had my two sons.  My sister told me about this when she had her third daughter and she enrolled 7 years ago.  In fact, her storage is still in Singapore and I had mentioned to her that they already have  storage facilities here.  She says they will fly it over if ever.  For future Moms, I highly recommend this

Mission Its Possible

By | Celebrations, For kids | 6 Comments

Many years ago, I told janet that she should be a party organizer!  I am so happy that she is one now!

Educare Celebrates Easter April 11, 2009

I recently hired Janet to organize a small party for Javier’s birthday.  He wanted to just spend time with his friends so I thought that something supervised would be better than just them trying to figure out what to do or they might just end up playing videogames.

mission-its-possible-03.jpg

Janet will work with you on what your kids like and she will create a unique and one of a kind experience for the kids.  She is really amazing!  She is for me a “boutique” party planner because she will really taylor the whole party of your child

I heard she did a 39 Clues party for our friend Nicole so I thought that something similar to that Javier would like because he is very playful and needs to keep moving around!  So we did  a Mission Impossible theme taken from Tom Cruise’s movie 🙂

 220px-missionimpossibleposter.jpg

She even made the invite for me!

mission-its-possible-invitation.jpg

While waiting for the kids to arrive, they had some snacks and they had to make it themselves! 🙂

mission-its-possible-041.jpgmission-its-possible-01.jpgmission-its-possible-02.jpg

Janet turned our basement into a lab!  After eating they did some science experiments which they really enjoyed

Janet’s super loveable and cute son Joshua, helped his Mom and is part of the team!

mission-its-possible-040.jpg

Then they had to train for the mission.  With the help of Janet’s husband, N.E.D., he was in charge of training the kids and preparing them for the mission

The kids were grouped by 4s and were sent out on a mission to look for the treasure.  Each clue led to another until they accomplished the mission

CISV

By | Education, For kids, Travel | 9 Comments

My friend, Barbee, sent her son, Enrique to join the CISV camp last year!  Looks like the kids enjoy at CISV, aside from representing our country, they get to meet different people from all over the world, they experience traveling and being with other children their age and a sense of independence living away from home.  They are so lucky to have this opportunity to experience this kind of camp.

Thanks Barbee for sharing this with everyone at Heart2Heart!

Some info about Enrique’s camp and delegation:

Children’s International Summer Village, QC Chapter

July 1 to 28, 2011 in Fredericksburg, Denmark (30 minutes from Copenhagen)

His village was called “Our World Village”

Philippine Delegation:  Enrique Chuidian, Luis Trota (son of Rica Tamesis & Robert Trota), Isabel Puno (daughter of Bea Lopez & Eric Puno), Katrina Villonco  (daughter of Hazel Perez & Martoni Villonco)

with Adult Leader:  Anielle Banson

CISV summer camps are called “Villages” and each village consists of child delegates (all 11-year olds); Junior Counselors (JCs); Adult Leaders and the Camp Director

In Enrique’s Village, there were child delegates from 12 countries (each country sends 2 boys and 2 girls, plus one adult leader)

cisv-014.jpegcisv-017.jpeg

Delegations from the following countries participated in his Village:

o Jordan, Belgium, USA, Costa Rica, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Poland, and Philippines

o Junior Counselors and Camp Staff were also from all over the world

The next round of CISV camps will be in July/ August 2012.  But, in early 2013, the delegates will start getting together for the Saturday playdays where they will all get to learn about CISV and its traditions; learn Filipino songs, games and dances to share when they go away to camp; make some great friendships and in early March, a lottery will take place to determine where these 11-year olds will go to attend camp.  Next summer,  I think the CISV QC chapter will be sending at least 5 delegations (20 kids) to Denmark, Sweden, Mexico, USA, Portugal.

Uncle Mike

By | For kids | No Comments

I don’t have many photos of my brother in law, Mike, but I have many of him with my kids.  Through the years, I have been able to collect photos of him with my kids.  And Uncle Mike is like their Dad or big brother who takes care of them and watches over them.  If it is one thing we will miss now that we have moved houses, it is Uncle Mike whom we have lived with for sixteen years.
