Our roadtrip led us to Katutubo Elementary School where Assumption sometimes holds their immersions.  We were also happy to find out that Xavier School is the main donor for this school through the Mena Foundation of Fr. Mena

They also have feeding programs here

Chef Javs Bakes for Lola Charing

By | For kids | 3 Comments

Chef Javs has been baking and cooking continously til now.  I wonder how long this will last and if he will really pursue his culinary interest!  One saturday, Chef Javs baked something for Lola and brought it to our regular Saturday lunch with Lola. Ever since then, he has been using his saturday mornings to bake and cook for Lola.

This is Creme brulee – for some reason whenever he brings it, there is already a missing part and guess who ate that missing part! 🙂

Filo pastry with fruit fillings 🙂

Tarte Tatin 🙂  This was his first try and he brought it to Lola

img_1624.JPG

and then he improved it on another Saturday 🙂

And today, as requested by the Lolas, he made peanut butter cups! 🙂

img_7161.jpg

Lola Nena and the other Lolas, Titos and Titas all try a bit from Javs goodies so maybe that’s why he is always happy to serve them every Saturday

And after his hard work, Lola gives him P 500.00.  Javier at first did not accept ( which I was happy he reacted that way ) but Lola insisted 🙂  So that is what Javs uses to buy his ingredients and his baon in school

An Afternoon of Girl Talk and Pampering

By | For kids, Spas | 2 Comments

Last Sunday, I took my nieces, Giselle and Gia, to a Nail Spa 🙂  Apparently, they have never been to one so this was their first time.  So the tween girls, ( includes me pink-smiley-heart.jpg ) , enjoyed an afternoon of girl talk and pampering

Macau for Kids

By | Accomodations, Entertainment, For kids, Travel | 3 Comments

This is for my friend Michelle who is going to Macau soon.  This is what I have gathered in the short time I was in Macau. My kids are older kids already so I tried to gather what I saw and not really experienced them myself. So I may have missed others.

I recommend Macau for a short vacation with the kids because the city is so near Manila, it is beautiful especially with the Portuguese influence, it is very clean,  and it is so fun and entertaining!  Not only for kids but for people like me who don’t gamble 🙂  It was summer for the Chinese so there were many kids at the time we were there

I heard that the Venetian Hotel is kid friendly and they have big rooms for families.  The Venetian is also very central and that is where all the action and entertainment is.  Click below for more information and to see the different kinds of rooms

1.)  Go Hotel Hopping and see the elaborate displays in the lobbies and the shows.

Don’t worry about kids getting lost in casinos.  They are very very strict and will not let any kid go to the casino.  They were so strict that my Dad almost fought with the security!  haha!!  It was raining and we had not where to pass to get to the Lobby unless we got wet in the rain with the strong rain.  And we were rushing to leave for the airport after lunch.  We had to call Ralph to help us and he just gave in because he knew my Dad was already so so mad!

2.)  Fish Spa

I have not seen The House of Dancing Water but looks like something you should not miss.  Not sure if it is for kids

4.)   Kids Play Zone at the Venetian – I saw this while walking in the Venetian.  You can probably leave the kids here while the parents want some time for themselves 🙂

ZAIA Cirque De Soleil at Macau

By | Entertainment, For kids, Travel | One Comment

Sure enough, Dad and Mom took us to see Cirque de Soleil in Macau.  They saw this already 3 times!  🙂  A nice show to see when in Macau.

You cannot really compare Cirque abroad to Cirque here in Manila because they really build a theater for Cirque and they expect the show to be there for years.  So the stage and the props and setting are really really more elaborate.
