When all the work was done, we decided to celebrate and go to Disneyland!! “The HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!” 🙂
Since we only had a day, we decided to go to California Adventure which is relatively new. It was a VERY VERY HOT DAY as always in California. It was a bit difficult for us to walk around due to the heat but we sort of managed still
Everyone parks in the parking lots around the resort and then you can either walk or ride the tram to take you to the different places in Disney Resort
Downtown Disney, Disneyland or California Adventure
California Adventure is the Disneyland for bigger kids or adults since the rides are more adventurous though they have rides for kids still. The feel is not the same as being in Disneyland itself
The first ride we rode was the Tower of Terror…Gosh! If I knew what the ride was going to be about, I would not have ridden it. But come to think of it, it was one of the BEST rides….BUT! I am never riding it again 🙂 I thought it was one elevator drop – but it went up and down several times!!
I found a video on youtube that more or less shows what the ride is
[wp_youtube]8HSgcshYf2s&feature[/wp_youtube]
Aladdin- this was almost a Broadway show – with the big theater, all the props and effects
Interesting to see all the strollers outside the theater parked 🙂
Definitely didn’t ride this one 🙂
An interesting ferris wheel!! It looks like the normal big ferris wheel
But when you look closer, the carts SWING back and forth in some parts of the wheel! It does not look scary but once you are up there, I thought it was scary 🙂
Good thing when we got nearer the ride, there was an option for a SWINGING or NON SWINGING cart! or else I would not have ridden it 🙂
They are still building new rides
One of our favorite rides. It was a Toy Story interactive ride where you shoot like in an arcade and get points, so you challenge your partner beside you and with others as well
Don’t be fooled by this sign, now everyone is telling me why I did not ride Soarin’ Over California. Apparently it is just a screen that is around you and you move with the chair

Famealy Day September 18, 2008

Last year, Heart2Heart featured Famealy Day (Famealy day 2008 September 18, 2008).
Initially launched in 2007, the campaign has led to a yearly nationwide celebration of Filipino family dining, a tradition that has been taken for granted by many families today due to the busyness and pressures of life. Dubbed National FaMEALy Day, it is commemorated every fourth Monday of September and has become part of DSWD’s yearly “Family Week Celebration.”
This annual initiative was certified and made official in a Memorandum of Agreement signed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the National Committee on the Filipino Family (NCFF), and Monde Nissin Corporation.
Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga© recently bagged top honors in this year’s Tambuli Awards, namely Bronze for Best Insights and Strategic Thinking, another Bronze for Best Established Product Campaign, and Silver for Most Effective Family Oriented Brand Campaign.
It only takes commitment from each family member to make mealtimes an opportunity to foster open communication and to better bond with one another. Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga© is a good reminder to Filipino families, particularly the parents, that their presence is valued during mealtimes, because at the end of the day, nothing and no one can ever really take their place at the dinner table.
This year’s National FaMEALy Day will be held on September 28, 2009. Mark your calendars now and pledge to make regular family meals a must! For more information, visit http://www.kainangpamilyamahalaga.com.
It is time for Family Meals to make a comeback – and there isn’t a better time to underline the importance of eating together than in today’s fast-paced world, characterized by dual income households, experiencing long work hours, long commutes, etc. and overscheduled kids (homework, sports, music, dance, meetings, etc.).
This is the message that Lucky Me! conveyed at the 2009 official launch of its Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga© advocacy, held recently at the Oakwood Premier in Ortigas. Lucky Me! also announced that this year’s National FaMEALy Day celebration is on September 28, encouraging everyone to go home early and have dinner with their families.
Seen attending the launch were some of the country’s biggest celebrities, representatives from government such as the National Committee on the Filipino Family and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), members of the press, and many other supporters of the cause.
The celebrities excitedly regaled the audience with funny anecdotes about their personal family mealtime experiences, while Dra. Carandang provided her expert opinion on the issues presently encountered by the Filipino family. Everyone enjoyed getting to know the celebrities on a more personal level, with stories that described what mealtimes were like in the Cuneta-Pangilinan household, as well as how the bond between the Manzano men was formed and how eating together played a large part in it.

While the celebrities had different experiences with family mealtimes, all of them shared the common view that making time for the family is highly important for both parents and children. This was further supported by Dra. Carandang, who believes that strong values are often imparted at the dinner table, and that this is especially crucial for children who are still in the process of developing an identity.
Rizza Cajucom-Uy, Lucky Me!’s Brand Development Director, also shared the idea and history behind Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga©, which serves as the brand’s advocacy. Through the years, Lucky Me! has established a reputation for being a partner in the holistic nurturance of families throughout the country. And the brand seeks to be of greater service to consumers by launching an advocacy that aims for the betterment of the Filipino community through strengthening its most basic unit – the family.

Thanks to my friend, Shellane Dy, for always making Heart2Heart part of their campaign. I told her that Heart2Heart will always support family initatives like Kainang Pamilya

Right beside the wakeboarding park is Lago Del Rey! It was good because my younger son did not really want to wakeboard and he enjoyed this place. Again, the place is very neat and clean! My two sons enjoyed and played with some of the kids there. But it is always fun to go with a big group of friends so the kids can play together.

All that for a very reasonable price!!

The CWC is only 5 minutes away from the airport. It is so nice! This was where the Ironman was held a week before we visited the place. Again the place is very organized and clean. Even if there were a lot of people, the place was clean! You will see staff always cleaning the place….raking the sand by the lake.
The kids really enjoyed. Though the villa was very tempting for us to stay in, have a massage, use the jacuzzi and just relax, we of course hung out in the lake and watched the kids.

WHAT A VIEW!!!

This is another accomodation nearest the CWC- it is called the tiki huts. This is the cheapest among all though bathrooms are common
There are tents by the wakeboarding area for eating and for spectators
The launching area
You need to line up and wait for your turn
It goes around one full circle…if you fall somewhere in between, you have to swim to shore and walk back which could be quite tiring carrying the board
For beginners like my 9 year old, you can do knee boarding

Hello friends! Learningville recognizes the role of caregivers, yayas as we fondly call them, in every Filipino family. We have to admit that they truly are partners and assets in the development of our children. It is only right and proper, then, that they be allowed to grow and become more equipped to handle their role and responsibilities.
With this in mind, Learningville offers, “Yaya, You Are Such A Winner!”, a two-part Yaya Development Seminar, aimed at enhancing our children’s yayas’ knowledge and skills in helping us bring up our children. Attached are our e-flyers with details. Hope you will allow your yayas to avail of this opportunity and pass it on to other families as well.
Thank you so much!
