Dwell Home Furnishings was founded by Christiane Lemieux in 1999 in an effort to bring modern textile design to the world of home. Christiane was soon joined by Jennifer Chused and later by Christiane’s husband, Joshua Young. The New York -based company quickly established itself as a leader and innovator in the bedding market – and expanded to a fuller offering of home furnishings products. Dwell launched DwellStudio in November 2007, a name that combines all the existing Dwell, Dwellbaby, Dwellkids and Dwelltable lines into a cohesive brand. DwellStudio has since evolved from its inception as a textile company into a trusted home furnishings brand.

Constantly refining designs through the exploration of color, pattern, and form, DwellStudio reinterprets and reinvents what it means to be modern. It strikes a balance with bold colors and prints and patterns that can be mixed and matched to create a truly personal space for babies and kids. The brand has captured the hearts of proud and uber stylish mommas like Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, Liv Tyler, and Katie Holmes. DwellStudio has always been committed to quality, safety and the environment. All their prints were made using low-impact dyes, which do not contain heavy metals or other known toxic substances. They are also Formaldehyde free, AZO-free and meet all criteria for eco-friendly pigments. DwellStudio has also initiated a re-design of their packaging to eliminate PVC and utilize eco-friendly materials. The products now come in bags or boxes that can be reused for storage, laundry, and travel for zero waste.

Its 2009 Baby & Kids print collection is inspired by illustrators as well as art itself, using a series of hand drawn and painted prints creating designs that will make your baby’s first room truly adorable, engaging and inspiring. Lay your baby down the DwellStudio crib set which include a play blanket, bumper, fitted sheet, and crib skirt. The Geometry pattern will have your little ones stimulated with circles, hexagons, triangles, and other shapes. Baby girls will love the Dragonfly crib set with hand-drawn dragonflies soaring through a soothing landscape of milk chocolate, butter, and rose. The best-selling graphic pattern in bold colors, the Dots crib set is the perfect way to stimulate your baby’s sense of sight while starting them out in stye.

Babies and tots love moving vehicles and with the Transportation crib set, they are sure to get loads of cars, buses, cabs, and even a Zeppelin! The Garden and Motif crib sets bring the outdoors right into your baby’s bedroom. Inspired by the Danish and Italian toys of the 60’s and 70’s and the color palette of Italian designer Gio Ponti’s interiors of a hotel in Sorrento, Italy, the Gio crib set lends playfulness with squirrels, kangaroos, snails, and clovers. The Organic collection is made from the finest Portuguese organic cotton, grown without any chemicals, pesticides, dyes or bleaches. DwellStudio’s classic Circles pattern is subtly embroidered onto the bumper and play blanket with organic natural thread. The Charlotte crib set with its floral mixes, a modern tree motif, and grey stripes lend a sophisticated and luxe feel while the Cowboy crib set with lend sweet dreams of life on the range for wannabe Butch Cassidys.

Golly Goosh Sweets

By | For kids, Yummy! | 5 Comments

My niece, Gabbi, loves to bake and she recently started her cookie business.  She made us taste her products before she finally offered them to friends and family and we love them! My favorite is the choco toffee cookies!

My sister told me that more than anything else, it was important for her daughter to learn the value of hard work and earning a living.  Gabbi is only 10 years old so it is good training for her and Heart2Heart definitely supports all entrepreneurs especially the young ones

She has gotten plenty orders already….I hope you can support Gabbi

Aside from the whole family ordering cookies, Tita Krie helped design the label for the cookies and Gabbi’s little sister, Mischka, posed and supported her sister as well 🙂

Water Parks in Guam

By | For kids, Travel | No Comments

Maybe the beach was not as crowded because each resort has their own recreational facility and pools which are also very nice.  James took the kids to Tarza which was recommended by our friend, Rey.   The kids really enjoyed here especially the flow rider

We were able to take a quick peek at Pacific Islands Club which is another resort with a big recreation facility.  Many friends recommended this place especially if you are with kids.  You get a special price to enter if you stay in the hotel and for outsiders, it almost doubles.  The price includes meals already.   I found this place a bit crowded and busy just by looking from the top and hearing the crowd in the waterpark. Maybe I am getting old and prefer a more peaceful place.  But definitely it looks like fun!

Tats and Gabby

By | For kids, Hot Off the Press | 2 Comments

Everytime I am with Rina and Tats, Gabby is always our constant companion.  He is so adorable!  He is a very well behaved little boy and always smiles for my camera.  What is more amazing is Gabby’s Mom, Tats!  She is a full time Mom to Gabby both in London where they live and in Manila when they come to visit.  She is a pro and she is so natural in handling her son in public places….I just watch her the whole time….and aside from that she even manages to continue chatting with us. AMAZING!

Tats says:

“My baby does not have the luxury of a full-time yaya. We live in London, where nannies make more than most Filipinos in multinationals.

Hence, my baby is my constant companion. We spend every moment together, and my pushchair is my main form of transport.”

Tats showed me her baby stuff and was updating me as I have not bought any baby stuff for 9 years.

She was telling us how she found Skip Hop bags in Rustan’s at much lower prices than in London so she bought a lot! 🙂

Apparently, Tats writes for the Inquirer once in awhile and shares her motherhood experiences.  So for new mothers out there or soon to be mothers, you might want to watch out for her column.  This is her latest article:

At the end of our afternoon, Gabby managed to change his shirt as Mommy was prepared for a slight accident 🙂 and he still manages to smile

and then falls quietly asleep on Mommy’s shoulder
