Here in the Philippines, this isn’t the first time that the brand is fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. This year Tod’s has teamed up with Metro Society Magazine for a charity event to benefit Bantay Bata 163. There was a silent auction of two gorgeous exotic-skin bags from the brand: a Marlene Pochette Micro Evening Bag and a T Bag Bauletto Mini. A portion of the proceeds from both sales of the two evenings and the auction pieces will be donated to Bantay Bata 163.
With its commitment to the high standard of quality, Tod’s is sure to craft nothing but the most beautiful products – and give back to the people while they’re at it.

Thanks to Rachel/QT and her six friends who spent 5 hours giving almost a 100 kids haircuts for the Educare kids. She introduced the idea to me early this year and I got so excited since it was such a unique activity.
QT went to the Wella Studio to learn about hairstyling since she wanted to put up her own salon but has not pursued it. She met the other hairstylists in Wella Studio who helped make today a special day for the kids.
This proves that everyone can share whatever talent they have and help in whatever way they can….
From left to right: Thanks to Rachel/QT del Mar ( Board of Director CCP ), Vicky Manese ( hairdresser ), Karen Hao ( owner, Filu Salon, King’s Court ), Cha Cha Raya ( hairdresser ), Fatima Ovenson ( owner, Teen’s Makeover Salon ), Jose marie Rivera ( owner, Rivea Salon ), Ariel Evangelista ( dentist and hairdresser as sideline )

It made me when I found out that some friends of mine had a foundation which is similar to my foundation. It’s all about CHILDREN and about making them .
Kidsmile Foundation is a small, home-run foundation that my friends Nicole Olbes Fandino, Pinky Herrera Brady and Ana de Borja Araneta started about 7 years ago with a couple of other friends.
They provide street children with gifts and experiences to make them smile, so they fund raise so they can treat the kids to fun things like trips to enchanted kingdom, the zoo, theater perfomances, give them sports equipment, noche buena treats for their families, and many many more.
They donated a van for the kids to use to go to school on rainy days and Fr. Thomas (the head of the foundation) was able to use it for their marketing needs, taking sick kids to the doctor, and they use it for the outings they sponsored for the kids.
Last year, they made a holiday-themed gift tag sticker sheet which was a big success so they were able to distribute to over 100 children back-packs filled with back-to-school goodies like school shoes, notebooks, pencils, ballpens and some cookies. The recipients are all former street children that are now living in Tulay ng Kabataan and the Jesus Loves the Little Children street children centers. These centers take care of the costs of sending deserving children to school and Kidsmile support their efforts.
This year, they came up with 2 kinds of gift tag sticker sheets; a new holiday set, as well as an all-occasion one. these stickers make perfect gift tags. each sheet has 17 stickers and are priced at P25/sheet.
They also have printed holiday photo cards. The cards come in sets of 10 cards with 10 color coordinated envelopes. they come in 5 colors: red, green, cream, burgundy and blue. the cards have slits to hold a 4″ x 6″ photo. Cost: P300.
So, hope you can help them make more kids this coming Christmas.
For orders, please contact Nicole at: kidsmilefoundation@gmail.com or at 0917.792.9557

Quinto treated 98 Educare kids to Museo Pambata.( http://www.museopambata.org/index.htm) He celebrated his birthday last May in London but waited to get to Manila to celebrate it here with them. Though the kids were a bit too young to read and appreciate every single exhibit, they surely had a great time just exploring their hands and touching everything. The kids were so excited to get to the next room and to the next. It was JOYFUL chaos and this will definitely be an experience they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Thank you to our dear friends, Suharto, Rina and Quinto for sharing your blessings with the kids. Thanks also to Rina’s mom, Tita Fely for sharing her time and being with us….Nothing is more valuable than giving your time to help others and make them happy.

June 24, Sunday For the second time, Luigi celebrates his birthday with the Educare kids. Luigi invited also a few of his cousins & best friends. There were 40 kids from 4 Educare adopted day care centers who were so lucky and blessed….they enjoyed and had a great time. Thanks to my good friend Michele who is always so giving and generous not only to me and my family but to our foundation. |
Children’s Day was organized by Tita Rose Lopez in celebration of the Feast of St. Anthony last June 10, Sunday at the San Antonio Parish Church. My kids normally do not like going to birthday parties anymore but for some reason they did not mind going to this when I told them about it. They did not join the games as the other kids were smaller than they were, but they certainly enjoyed the food and the activities like Henna tattoo and the kiddie salon. Thanks to Tita Rose for always helping out in the parish. It was a fun celebration. [email_link] |
