Visiting Dra. Henson

By | Homes and Interiors, Medical | No Comments

I have been so busy!!! Busy visiting doctors! 🙂  I don’t really enjoy it, but I do it because I have to!  It’s a good thing there are fun doctors!! I went to visit Dra Tere Henson in Makati Medical Center and I love her clinic!!  I am not only featuring homes now, even doctors clinics haha!!

First a wall clock that was flashed on the wall by a small projector from the opposite side of the wall 🙂

As you enter, there is a coffee machine where you can help yourself!! I love it!!

There is a nice painting on the wall and you can see the DVD player as well

And here she is! I love her clinic!!!

Close up on her because she is wearing a blouse with a heart! I love it! But she got mad at me for being a delinquent patient.  I told her that I am so good- there are others who don’t even go to the doctor even if they feel something is wrong! 🙂

I am closing up on the collection of miniature chairs which her husband ( who is also a doctor ) has!  They share the same office 🙂

Visiting Jerome in New York

By | Homes and Interiors, Travel | 2 Comments

We were so happy we had time to spend with Jerome!  And I made sure we visited his new flat which he is renting in the meantime he is looking for his permanent flat. On one side of the building Jerome told me that they have outdoor movies for the residents

Miya Shoji

By | Great Achievements, Homes and Interiors, Travel | 2 Comments

We were so happy to meet up with Raul, cousin of James!  He was also in the USA helping his daughter settle down for school.  We accompanied him to buy the mattress which Mia wanted.  So Raul came from Brooklyn and we met up.  Mia wanted a specific mattress – futon –  which was available only in Miya Shoji in New York!

[wp_youtube]XmO1kaNi3as[/wp_youtube]

The shop really sells furniture- Japanese chests, tatami and tables and Japanese screens.

miya-shoji-2.JPG

Happy to meet the owners- Father Hisao and son Zui.  Miya Shoji means temple carpenter so they make furniture using the old Japanese way without any nails!  They assemble the furniture without nails

Petrified Wood Coffee table US$ 12,000

miya-shoji-8.JPG

If I am not mistaken this is a 300 year old stone – US$ 8,000 for this one!

miya-shoji-9.JPG

US$  80,000 for this beautiful table

More beautiful pieces of wood ready to be made into furniture

Futon is just an accessory they sell with the tatami.  Papa Raul happy to grant the request of Mia and make sure she sleeps comfortably 🙂

Around 2 months ago we had a chance to visit the Raffles Suites which are available for viewing as they are selling some units.  All photos are from my iPhone as I did not bring my camera with me that afternoon

Visiting Mark and Neng

By | Homes and Interiors | One Comment

When in Baguio, I always contact Mark and Neng to ask them what is new in the area and to see them of course 🙂  This time I made sure I invited myself to their home! haha!! 🙂  I love visiting homes.  It tells a lot about a person and I want to get to know more about my friends.  So after several tries, finally they allowed me to visit their home 🙂  I love the area of their home- it is very quiet and according to Neng, they have lots of water in this area and going down to their place is a path of sunflowers which comes out during summer.  Hopefully next time I get to see it and document it
