People will discover the French Art de vivre-“way of life” that the prestigious brand represents.

History

Roche Bobois is a story of two families, the Roches and the Chouchans.

The Roches purchased the old Alexandre Dumas theater on rue de Lyon and created their Parisian showroom.

At this time, the Chouchans were selling furniture in Russia. Until the day, they emigrated in France and created their store in Paris on Boulevard Sébastopol at “Au Beau Bois” (which later became Bobois).

From this union of these 2 families in 1960, the Roche Bobois brand was born and has now grown to become a worldwide corporate and franchising network.

A Company in Expansion

Roche Bobois, a global leader in high-end furniture design and distribution, is a dynamic company in development.

With sales amounting to €380 million in 2011, Roche Bobois is now present in 45 countries with a network of 250 exclusive stores. As a testimony to the brand’s dynamism, Roche Bobois opens one store in the world per month. In 2011, Roche Bobois opened 13 new showrooms. Recent international openings include those in Doha (Qatar), Buenos Aires (3rd Roche Bobois showroom in the Argentinean capital), Madrid (2nd showroom), Seoul (Korea) and Abidjan (Ivory Coast). For 2012, the brand is currently working on fifteen new projects. Among them  are new showrooms in Alger and Manila that opened in June,  and others in Germany, UK and Austria.

Each new showroom reflects the spirit of the brand through its interior architecture, the selected models and the collections displayed, and the quality of the proposed services.

Design and Concept

Every Roche Bobois furniture is an outstanding piece that exudes a unique character and is inspired by multiple personalities: The personality of the creator who designed it, with his sense of talent and ingenuity; and your personal touch of freedom and creativity. Customization can be done in any detail as we give you choices on dimensions, colors, leathers, woods and finishes. Each furniture piece is unique, exclusive, and truly created for you.

 chronos.jpg

As a true testimony to its dynamism, Roche Bobois launches twice a year an exclusive new collection and proudly ranks among the most cutting edge, high-end furniture brands with an international reputation.

 dervish.jpg

Since the beginning, Roche Bobois collaborates with world-class designers such as Hans Hopfer, the French designers Pierre Paulin and Marc Berthier, and most recently, with some iconic designers such as Vladimir Kagan (Comète) or Paola Navone (Ping Pong) who created outstanding collections for the brand. Roche Bobois also works with a new wave of talented young designers including Christophe Delcourt (Legend), Sacha Lakic (Speed Up), Stéphane Lebrun (Assemblage), Cédric Ragot (Cute Cut), Daniel Rode (Furtif) or recently Ora-Ito. Roche Bobois also teams up with fashion icons like Kenzo, Missoni, Ungaro, Jean Paul Gaultier, and this year, Sonia Rykiel.

Roche Bobois is also committed to a comprehensive approach of eco-design which respects refined materials and the world around us. Roche bobois is working to improve and considers seeking ways to reduce its impact on our environment as one of its core values.

All the Roche Bobois models are exclusively manufactured in Europe (France, Italy and Portugal).

 vanity-largeur.jpg

The company’s reputation for guaranteed quality and its exclusively European manufacture are additional contributing factors to its strong performance.

Throughout the years, Roche Bobois has been the pioneer in the field of eco-designs and concepts (Legend collection, Horizon, Assemblage).

The Collections

RocheBobois has been producing fine furniture for 50 years, offering exclusive “haute couture” designs for two main collections: Les Contemporains and Nouveaux Classiques. Both collections are renewed twice a year.

Les Contemporains is a range of bold and innovative furniture drawing inspiration from the modernist classics. Les Contemporains comprises furniture, lighting, art and accessories for every room in the house and reflects Roche Bobois’ keen eye for detail. In many ways, Les Contemporains epitomizes the true essence of modern French living.

With designs inspired by France’s long and illustrious heritage of artisan cabinet-making and also by neo-industrial trends, the elegant Nouveaux Classiques collection is made for modern day lifestyle using the finest quality fragrant woods, materials and finishes. All products are carefully created withthe savoir-faire of the craftsmanshipaccording to each customer’s own specifications.

Nouveaux Classiques offers the authenticity of heritage which reflects the solid values and quality of craftsmanship associated with Roche Bobois. Robust, comfortable and luxurious, each piece is truly an expression of the Roche Bobois “way of life” and offers a lifetime of enjoyment.

We look forward to seeing you in the showroom!

My husband will love this feature!!  Margie opened a door to a small storage room and I saw this!!!  She told me that Jack had this built so that if there is anything for laundry- the household staff can just throw it down this chute which leads to the laundry room downstairs.  It saves them the trip of carrying all the laundry from all the rooms upstairs.  Good idea!

Cherina told me that they brought in Ecocarat since they were building their buildings, condos and homes.  Wow! Hopefully those will be featured here in Heart2Heart! 🙂

The beauty with Ecocarat is it absorbs moisture so especially for vacation homes which you leave for long periods of time,  there won’t be any smell.

Tessa points out Humidity and Aroma testing areas.  Guests spray water onto the Eocarat wall displays to see how quickly Ecocarat absorbs the water.   Guests also try out the test jars of coffee beans. The ones with just coffee beans have a strong coffee smell while those coffee beans mixed with Ecocarat have no smell.

A few months ago we saw this very interesting building in San Antonio village, a few meters away from where VP Binay lives

E. Murio On Sale

By | Hearty Deals, Homes and Interiors, Shopping | 5 Comments

e-murio-sales-flyer-2012.jpg

 e-murio-sale.jpg

E. Murio is a furniture workshop that designs and manufactures fine furniture, built-in cabinetry, specialty floor and wall coverings, and home accessories. We specialize in natural materials such as tropical woods, fiber and grass weaves, rattan, and bamboo. We also work with iron, veneers, brass, leather, bone, and plastic weaves. We believe that the beauty of our pieces comes from both the design and the quality of the craftsmanship. Our methods are the result of years of experience as well as an intimate knowledge of the tradition of furniture making. It is the combination of our design and craft that results in exceptional furniture.

Though our furniture has traditionally leaned towards more classic pieces, in recent years we have started to create more modern, ambiguous forms, while crafting them using our traditional techniques. We like to think of our work as intimate architecture for the body and for our lives that inhabit them – where a medicine cabinet can hold pills, or a series of mundane things, or a collection of items that connect to our dreams. Furniture, as objects that are scattered about, are also the objects around which we gather with family to celebrate, they are the objects in which we lay a sleeping child, and in which we suspend our bodies. As objects, they suggest their function, but we hope they also evoke a sense delight, an appreciation of texture, and a formal fascination.
