Congratulations once again to our friend, Aileen!  This is her second book after her first one, The Flavored Cup ( The Flavored Cup June 6, 2008 ).  Aileen has always been very generous in sharing her recipes, I remember she faxed me all her pasta sauces so I could try them.  And so now finally, her book not only shares coffee recipes, but dessert recipes!!  More power to you Aileen!

Assumption Highschool Class of ’79 Cookbook

By | Foodie, Hot Off the Press, Recipes | One Comment

Thank you Marivic for the cookbooks you shared with Heart2Heart!!!

accookbookcover.jpeg accookbook2.jpg

You cannot imagine how valuable they are to Heart2Heart.  I am so lucky to get hold of copies of this cookbook!  I really love it!

I went through the pages and saw the compilation of recipes contributed by your batchmates and the stories behind the recipes. Not everything is about cooking, about the recipe, about eating…but it is what goes into preparing it, the people and the history of the recipe.  What a great compilation!!  I wish i could feature each and every recipe at Heart2Heart! 🙂

Here is a sample recipe page

Five years ago,  they came out with their first cookbook which again as I said, whenever there is a part two or a next edition, it can only mean that it was successful!

Mercy Tuason

By | Hot Off the Press, Tributes | 2 Comments

This is the second “Mercy”( Itayo Natin and Ating Bandila June 16, 2009 )  personality featured here at Heart2Heart!  Both women who inspire! While at my good friend Rina’s place, I saw a magazine on her coffeetable and I thought I saw Audrey Hepburn..but as I read the cover- it said Mercy Tuason. I had met Tita Mercy on a few occassions through Rina.  I had the opportunity to join one of her prayer sessions and mass which she hosts in her beautiful home.  Rina brought me along with her.  All her lady friends come over and pray together and hear mass.  She has recently been appointed as envoy to the Vatican.  My Grandfather was once the Ambassador to the Vatican as well.  Congratulations Tita Mercy!

I love how Lifestyle Asia did the article and photos of Tita Mercy.  Try to grab a copy of their July issue to read more

Tats and Gabby

By | For kids, Hot Off the Press | 2 Comments

Everytime I am with Rina and Tats, Gabby is always our constant companion.  He is so adorable!  He is a very well behaved little boy and always smiles for my camera.  What is more amazing is Gabby’s Mom, Tats!  She is a full time Mom to Gabby both in London where they live and in Manila when they come to visit.  She is a pro and she is so natural in handling her son in public places….I just watch her the whole time….and aside from that she even manages to continue chatting with us. AMAZING!

Tats says:

“My baby does not have the luxury of a full-time yaya. We live in London, where nannies make more than most Filipinos in multinationals.

Hence, my baby is my constant companion. We spend every moment together, and my pushchair is my main form of transport.”

Tats showed me her baby stuff and was updating me as I have not bought any baby stuff for 9 years.

She was telling us how she found Skip Hop bags in Rustan’s at much lower prices than in London so she bought a lot! 🙂

Apparently, Tats writes for the Inquirer once in awhile and shares her motherhood experiences.  So for new mothers out there or soon to be mothers, you might want to watch out for her column.  This is her latest article:

At the end of our afternoon, Gabby managed to change his shirt as Mommy was prepared for a slight accident 🙂 and he still manages to smile

and then falls quietly asleep on Mommy’s shoulder
