Refrigerator Doors

By | Household Tips | 6 Comments

It is so interesting to see all kinds of refrigerator doors.  It is one of my frustrations because our refrigerator door is covered with wood ( for some reason ) and I cannot stick anything on it!!

So far, these are the ones I have visited in the past year or so.  Next time, I should take what’s inside!  🙂

Yogurt Maker

By | Household Tips | 6 Comments

I finally received my yogurt maker which I ordered from Amazon. YAY!!! I followed Mireille Guiliano’s ( French Women Don’t Get Fat January 21, 2009 ) recommendation and bought the Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker.  It works very well an definitely very easy to make! I have had it for three months already and we now have a regular supply of fresh yogurt.

Of course I use Holly’s ( Holly’s Really Farm Fresh Dairy Products February 9, 2009 )fresh low fat milk, about 1 liter and a half will fill up the 8 containers of the yogurt maker.

Mireille said that “One of the vital secret of hunger management is YOGURT- not the sugary market kind but the real stuff, strained, which is not only of superior texture and flavor, but full of the bacteria essential to health.  A yogurt eaten just when I knew hunger would strike was a terrific pacifier.”

Watch the video for simple instructions on how to use the machine.  I tried it myself and it works.

Holly’s now has small bottles – 200 ml and 300 ml

Masks

By | Finds, Household Tips | No Comments

I spotted these amusing masks from Saddlebrown at Manila Polo Club and M Pulse at Makati Medical Center!  With the swine flu going around, you may need these.  Definitely in crowded or enclosed places and if you see or hear anyone coughing or sneezing, put this on right away!! and have some laughs at the same time 🙂 For those who have cough or cold, hopefully they will be more conscientious to wear masks

Recyclable Bags

By | Green, Household Tips | 10 Comments

I have collected quite a few recyclable bags which have become very useful.  They come in different shapes, colors and sizes so depending on where I am going or where I will shop, I choose one that will fit…

This is my most used recyclable bag because I use it to do my groceries, I have around 35 pieces of this.  I keep 3 or 4 pieces in my car so just in case I do last minute or emergency grocery, it is in the car

This is a very popular one. Everyone seems to always call my attention when they see me using this bag.  People are amazed that it is made out of recycled newspapers – what a clever idea!

Thanks to Tito Rudy and Tita Monina for this one! I love it especially because of the saying on the bag and it benefits a livelihood program!

Getting Organized Part 2

By | Household Tips | 12 Comments

Heart2Heart has not featured something like this in a long time.  And to think, part 1 was a very popular feature.  (  Getting Organized May 16, 2007  )

We always go to our sister Tina’s house but this time, we got a closer look inside her closets and cabinets!  Heart2Heart ( and I am sure many others ) are inspired by people who are so organized!  We learn a lot from them.  So thank you to Ana and Tina for sharing your household tips!

Pantry – everything lined up and all in its proper place

This is Heart2Heart’s favorite section!! Wow!

A section in the kitchen where everything is all stored properly and all labelled

Storage room- looks like an IKEA store to me 🙂

tina9.JPGtina10.JPGtina11.JPGtina12.JPGtina13.JPGtina14.JPGtina16.JPGtina17.JPGtina18.JPG

In one of the rooms, the cabinets are being used to store of all Tina’s wrapping accessories

Each drawer is organized into occassions- all occassion, birthday and christmas

Gift bags

RIBBONS!!!!!!! I love ribbons!! She has so many! Each container is categorized by design- Plain, checkered, printed, dots, etc etc

tina23.JPGtina24.JPGtina25.JPG

This is her son’s closet which she told me was organized by the nanny.  Hmmm… deep inside me I am thinking… the nanny just tries to copy her boss…so I guess she is just like her boss 🙂  She even labels the shelves and segragates the shirts – sports shirts, long sleeves, etc etc

Packing Cubes

By | Finds, Great Inventions, Household Tips, Travel | 4 Comments

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have been eyeing this for a long time, so for Valentine’s Day i treated myself and bought 3 sets – for me and my two sons.  It is P 690.00 for a set of 4!  We each have our own colors, of course mine is pink 🙂  So just in time for my trip, I used it already and it is the BEST!! All I do when I arrive in the hotel is bring out the 4 bags and just put it in the closet.  And the most benefit I will see in the future is when we travel with the boys.  Atleast now we can segragate their clothes especially since they share one luggage most of the time.  And it will relieve me of the task of fixing the clothes when we arrive.  Now, it is an instant  and quick unpacking!! Inventions like these are BLESSINGS to me!! Less hassle! Less stress!  Hopefully it will teach my kids to be organized too.
