Art in Wynn Palace

By | Macau | No Comments

All around the Wynn Palace are works of art, antique pieces from Steve Wynn’s personal collection.  This is my favorite by Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons created Tulips between 1995 and 2004 as part of his Celebration series, an examination of objects associated with childhood. Enlisting the recognizable form of balloons twisted into the shape of flowers, Koons uses bright colors, shiny reflective surfaces and awe-inspiring scale to allow adults to experience the wide-eyed wonderment of childhood and feel small again. While the sculpture casts the illusion of fragility and weightlessness, it was rendered with over three tons of meticulously sculpted stainless steel.

Koons created five unique versions of Tulips, each featuring a unique arrangement of colors and flowers. Other versions reside at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, and at the Broad Museum in Los Angeles, California, USA. Typhoon Hato

From 9am til 1pm – A storm like never before – Signal #10 which is like #5 to us in the Philippines. I’ve never experienced it before and never on the 27th floor of a hotel !  It was like an earthquake that never stopped and we are on the 27th floor!  Not only for a minute or a few minutes but for hours. I was so scared. I was also scared to ride the elevator to go down because it was shaking. I am used to storms but not being in a high floor haha!!!

But life went on in the @wynnpalace .  We lost electricity but they have a generator so we were all ok inside. At 4pm they lowered the signal to 8 #wynnpalacemacau #h2hmacau#typhoonhalo We are so blessed to be in a new building and one that had good facilities

The day before we already received notice from the hotel .  They had already warned us to close our curtains and not to stay near the windows Typhoon Halo (3)When we woke up it was very quiet – it just looked gloomy. At first i was thinking whether our flight should have been really canceled but later on wow, this all changed!!! I have no photos from the window because I was scared to go near
Typhoon Halo (1) The staff were alert, the household staff were cleaning, people were eating and gambling 🙂 – we were actually safe inside the newly built hotel. Dennis a Pinoy  security guard assisted us down at around 130 pm because we wanted to eat.  There are 800 security guards all over the hotel/casino.Typhoon Halo (4)From this in the morning – the pool which we can see from our room
Typhoon Halo (2)  To this 🙁  Typhoon Halo (8)

I looked out the window and saw one broken window – just the tint not the glassTyphoon Halo (9) Headlines the next day Typhoon Hato

We have itchy feet haha!! we had to go out already of the hotel and find our Portuguese restaurant!!! So attempted to go out and this is what we saw –

Our hotel with some windows hit 🙁
