Jeepney Tours

By | Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | No Comments

I treated some foreign friends to a city tour of Manila and I contacted this company which I researched over the internet.  I sent them without trying it out myself first, so I wanted to see how it was and this is how it went 🙂  They picked us up in Ascott hotel in Glorietta.

jeepney-tours1.JPG

I love the JEEPNEY!! We should have more of these around the city!!  This company owns three

   jeepney-tour-jeep.JPG

It’s air-conditioned and is very decent but of course it runs like a jeep 🙂  with the shake, rattle and rolls 🙂

They have videoke for those who like to sing 🙂  not me 🙂

Signed by Jessica Sanchez who rode this Jeepney 🙂  Apparently you can rent this jeepney for private functions or tours.  They have 3 of these going around the city.  Private individuals and Government officials hire the jeepneys to entertain foreign guests.

I took the half day Intramuros Tour.

intramuros-tour-jeepney-tour.jpg

We stopped by some landmarks before getting to Intramuros.  Our version of the London Eye 🙂  by MOA Manila Bay

It was raining that morning.  Folk Arts Theater

We have flags!!!! In Roxas Boulevard!! How do they remove it all if it’s raining? But anyway, I love this!!  We should be proud….. UNCONDITIONALLY

Cultural Center of the Philippines

More flags at Luneta Park

Manila Cathedral

Our tour guide 🙂  I have some of my personal comments about the tour but I ill share them directly with the operators.  There are some points to improve on and I want foreigners to love our country and see the beauty we have to offer and there is many

Partnerships for Disaster and Climate Resilience by the Carlos P. Romulo

By | General Information, Great Achievements, Proud to be Pinoy! | No Comments

Did someone just answer my prayers and wishes ? 🙂  Last November I was so passionate about the Yolanda typhoon I put out my thoughts by trying to put into words my own simple interpretation on how I wish we could organise our relief efforts

Previous entry:  Project Relief Operations November 16, 2013

Thank you to my friend, Maritina Romulo, she shared the project of her Dad, Ambassador Roberto Romulo,  which answered my prayers and much more!!!  This is good timing before all the storms start coming in.

Filipinas in London

By | Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | No Comments

It was so nice to meet some lovely Filipina ladies in London.  I admire these ladies because I personally think that you have to be very strong and be really independent to move away from your comfort zone and live far from home to be with your spouse.  They each have their stories to tell and believe me they are really really very strong women.    It was a pleasure to meet them and  enjoyed being with all of these beautiful ladies.  I wish we had more time

london-ladies.JPG

I am so glad they all posed for me with my special request to include their handbags 🙂  TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCE? 🙂  I heard the ladies joking among themselves  – that meaning Genuine or Copy ? 🙂

Cha Completo Turner- Very British with a Burberry bag

I was so happy to know that Cha is a regular reader of Heart2Heart.  Thank you Cha.  Cha is married to a British gentleman and has one son. She’s a very good source of places to go to in London, so I will be asking her a lot of tips on my next trip back there

Fled Huab with a Moschino bag.  Very practical because she said its easier to clean with the charol/patent leather fabric

So so nice this lady! She is apparently the daughter of my high school teacher Mrs. Huab! And she is also the cousin of my good friend, Arlene!  Fled used to live in Hong Kong when she married a German gentleman and from HK, they moved to London in 2005.  She has two very intelligent sons studying at Winchester College and Eton 🙂  This lady is amazing and I am so happy to have met her and I learned a lot from her from just one evening

Meg Nolasco Brewer with a Chanel bag.  TRUTH!!! 🙂

Mitos Ocaba Foster- Tods

Very tall and pretty and married to a very successful British man but accredits his success because of her!  haha!! I love it!  🙂  I did not get to talk much with Mitos but in the little that she said, she is also one tough lady and I am happy that we have strong women like her

We were talking about her children – she has a son and a daughter and they were telling me about her daughter who is just as pretty as her Mom with modelling potentials but was advised to finish her studies first 🙂  Sharing this photo from Darcy! 🙂

James’ Cebuana cousin Marichelle Veloso Waring  A very good friend of our friend, Rina.img_6699.JPG

And my very elegant friend, Rina – Prada- Always TRUTH! 🙂

She’s not married to a Brit but to a Pinoy 🙂  And they have been living in London for 20 years

 rina-in-motcombs.JPG

And of course Darcy – with the Prada bag of Rina haha!! 🙂

She is not married yet

but she has her “sweet caramel” 🙂 which I met through her phone 🙂

Deep Fried Chorizo and Quesong Puti Lumpia! Everything is so good here!

The main menu!  This is a menu that is so well thought of!  For those who always think they can cook Filipino food at home, it’s not really that easy! 🙂  And NamNam made it even more complicated by giving more choices and more ways to make a dish!  I like it because it has the classics for maybe foreigners who want to try the classic Filipino dishes and for us Filipinos to have the classics with a twist! I want to try all the twists !!! 🙂

Not only that, you can choose the size!  When most Filipino restaurants come in big portions for sharing, Namnam allows you to order solo sizes in Small ( S ) to Medium ( M ) to Large ( L ) for family portions

namnam-menu.jpg

I tried the Sinigang na Beef short rib and Watermelon that was a twist of sinigang na baby sa sampaloc.  And this is a home recipe of one of the owners, Eliza!

I had the classic house crispy sisig – YUMMY!!!!
