National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima

By | Religious | No Comments

We did a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.   In Valenzuela. It’s the 100th year anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. The Pope announced 3 ways to gain indulgence this year. Hoping to fulfill the second way. 2. Pray before any statue of Our Lady of Fatima
The second way applies to “the pious faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary.” #OurLadyOfFatima#NationalShrineOfOurLadyOfFatima#fatima100ph #H2HReligious#OurLadyOfFatimaNational Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima (15)

Tinette

What a fulfilling afternoon with Tinette!

tinette-6

For 4 hours we listened to what happened to her the past 20 years we were not in touch.

tinette-5

We laughed, we were in awe and we even cried. From a very low point in her life which almost made her take her life to a total transformation where she gives hope and she gives life not only to herself but to her family, friends and to her church. She has 3 beautiful children who she home schooled and soon to adopt 3 orphaned siblings from Ukraine and go through home schooling all over again! wow! It’s not easy!tinette-3

She will not only have to take care of 3 but will have to raise 3 more. And she says it’s all God’s plan and she just follows and listens to Him.

tinette-4 tinette-2

She inspires me to have a close relationship with God and leave everything to Him and trust in Him. She says that Satan is very much present and that it’s your choice to pick between Satan and God. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by people who share their life so that I can be closer to God. I’m blessed that I have reconnected with Tinette and I’m very sure today was not by chance but God’s plan. She’s Christian and Eds @manayesg and I are Catholic – but when she speaks about God we are in sync ? We are hoping she will document her life into a movie so more people can witness the beautiful story ? She tells her story so well I wish everyone could hear her. Meantime she continues to share and make a difference in the lives she has touched and I’m one of them. Thank you Tinette and Thank you God who is always there – it’s really up to us to reach out to Him? #h2hpeople #h2hquotes #H2HG?D

I dropped her off after lunch and got to meet her daughter who is so pretty and looks just like Mom!

Pilgrimage to the Holy Doors of Mercy

By | Religious | No Comments

What a fulfilling day!!!! The BFFs were pilgrims yesterday and visited the 5 Holy Doors of Mercy.  A different kind of Halloween where your treats are the blessings God gives in every door.

The whole time we kept saying “We are so happy” “What a nice day” ??

We are so lucky to be alive while Pope Francis is Pope.

We have been planning this for months and finally decided on a date. We started at 730am and finished at 4pm with lunch ( 1 1/2 hours) in between. We stayed 40 minutes to 1 hour per door. You can finish it probably in half a day if no traffic and just bring food in the car. You still have til November 12 to visit the Holy Doors of Mercy #HolyDoorofMercy #PopeFrancis #HolyDoorsofMercy #H2HGroups #H2HBFFs

There are many Holy Doors but the Archdiocese of Manila is the only one that has the passport and has 5 churches included.  This is what we did as our pilgrimagepilgrimage-to-the-holy-doors-of-mercy-1 pilgrimage-to-the-holy-doors-of-mercy-100We sort of made an itinerary as a guide.  We got hungry after the 3rd church so we had lunch so we do not get dizzy and rush had we gone ahead to the other churches

Dinner with Fr. Bautista

By | Education, For kids, Giving Back, Religious | One Comment

Dinner with the board members (from Ateneo ) of Sta. Teresita Miarayon headed by Fr. Kit Bautista SJ. He gave us medallions of Mama Mary which they wear during the month of the Holy Rosary. He was ordained and lived in Miarayon bukidnon for 4 years. After which he went to Ateneo Loyola but he always went back and visited 3-4 times a year. 10 years ago, He set up a school for the indigenous people there because it took the kids ( preschool to grade 6) 1 hour to walk to school  #stateresitamiarayon #miarayonbukidnon #H2HGivingBackdinner-with-fr-bautista-6dinner-with-fr-bautista-4 dinner-with-fr-bautista-7 dinner-with-fr-bautista-10 Fr. The Living Rosary

By | For kids, Religious | No Comments

My Tita Agnes Jalandoni who works at the Welcome Home Foundation ( Bacolod) for the Deaf the-living-rosary-2

shared this photo of them saying the rosary. They call it the Living Rosary. “It was the idea of my Mom Salving Tinsay with Norman Pasamonte our deaf Catechist.  the-living-rosary-1 They are lit candles in clay pots we colored. Each bead is a candle the deaf children light. Our way of quieting ourselves and teaching them how to love the rosarythe-living-rosary-3  They are all so eager to light, pray their Hail Mary then blow the candles in the end.” What a beautiful way to say the rosary  #feastoftheholyrosary #monthoftheholyrosary2016 #monthoftheholyrosarythe-living-rosary-4

Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod SM Seaside City Cebu

By | Religious | No Comments

Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod at SM Seaside City.  It’s a chapel with 100 walls – no one wall has the same dimension. Symbolizing that the chapel is for everyone.  It was the first structure built at the SM Seaside Complex in Dec. 2012 the same year San Pedro Calungsod was canonized. It’s truly beautiful!! Going back to what I said previously that I hope that the Sy family continues to build not only malls but other things ( a wide scope of things 🙂  )  for our country.  This is now a tourist destination and is rated with 4 stars in trip advisor.  Many couples have their weddings here Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod SM Seaside City Cebu (2)

Designed by Carlos Arnaiz who had a masters degree  in architecture from Harvard.  Carlo Arnaiz is a Columbian based in New York.

A nice story of fate which Tita Marissa told me.  Boss Hans wanted to get the same designer that does the chapels of SM but Tita Marissa suggested to get someone different.  And while she was in a doctor’s office, she opened a magazine and saw the work of Carlos Arnaiz and one of his works which he did for a Children’s village in Cavite.  And when she presented this idea to the Sy family,  Elizabeth Sy told her that this same architect presented to her two weeks ago!
