View of the camp from the sideBumping into the Nat Geo team that goes around the Mara everyday to get footage for their show The trees in the Masai Mara are shaped like these because the giraffes eat them and can only reach a certain height so the top is left 🙂 It was just our first game drive and we saw so many animals already Elephant droppings 🙂 Hyena hiding in a hole Plenty gazelles all over Buffalo Another entrance to the Masai MaraSnacks in the jeep 🙂
Bush toilet haha!! Plenty “Pumbas” all over
Breakfast with the view of the Masai Mara #masaimara at @angamasafari #angamamara
When you look out to the Masai Mara it looks like there is nothing but trees. But if you use your binoculars or through a telescope, you will see animals all over the place. So sad to be leaving this beautiful place. I hope to come back to witness the great migration and this scenenery will change and you will see millions of animals especially the Wildbeests that will eat the grass here and cross the Masai river and move on to their next destination ?? Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya- Africa. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland.
Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment.
The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.
There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.
Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).( magicalkenya.com ) #masaimara #kenya #h2hsafari #a2asafaris #
Love the Butlers Tray
As much as possible, I want to try the food of the country we are in so i tried the Swahili omelette 🙂 #h2hdiningvenues#h2hbreakfast #h2hsafari #a2asafaris
Downtime in the camp is after lunch when it gets hot and before your next game drive at 4pm. Best time to take a bath is in the afternoon so its not cold. Tub time facing the Masai Mara
They have a gym and pool both facing the Masai Mara. I could stare at it all day ??
Masai women teaching beadwork. Super love all the African beaded products #masaimara #kenya#angamamara #h2hartisan #h2hsafari#a2asafaris
Another downtime activity – There’s a library in @angamasafari where you can read a book, watch movies or work 🙂 Ofcourse we made sure we watched Out of Africa. Many scenes in the film are from the Masai Mara and Nairobi in the Karen Blixen House/Museum #angamamara #h2hsafari#a2asafaris
Our home in the Masai Mara for 3 nights at Angama Mara @angamasafari The first photo is the view from the plane before landing. It is situated on the rim of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment overlooking the #masaimaraThe Swahili word “angama” means hanging in mid air. There are 30 suites – 15 per kopje. We are in the North kopje which they say is better than the south since its higher. Breathtaking #angamamara#kenya #h2hsafari #h2haccomodations#a2asafaris
This leads to the common area – the dining room, library, living room and bar Tents which I like very much because they are new and securely built. I am scared to stay in a tent among the wilderness haha 🙂 so it is best to stay in a solid tent. They also have security guards around the camp to watch out for animals and to assist guests There is an ante room before the room where the staff can access without bothering you. It is also a place to put your bags, coats, etc The room with the most beautiful view- the Masai Mara Bathtub Semi open shower You are allowed only 18 kilos of luggage on the planes – it’s a good thing @angamasafari provides everything you will need ! The camp lodge is only 3 years old so it is relatively new #angamamara#h2haccomodations #h2hsafari #a2asafaris Love the brown paper bag trash bag Horn in case of emergency 🙂 Masai Kikoi Open bar – take all you can 🙂
Binoculars Reading material WOOHOO!! 🙂 Not many accommodations provide these much outlets 🙂
