Push the Limits with Oakley Eyewear

By | Sports | One Comment

Oakley, recognized as one of the most coveted brands in performance technology and lifestyle eyewear since 1975, took the lead in the Cobra Ironman 70.3 as it joined the country’s and some of the world’s best athletes in looking beyond the limits and igniting the fire of true sportsmanship.

Oakley provides eyewear that has been field-tested, with aggressive design technologies captured in quality materials. This year, one of the biggest triathlons in the country, Crobra Ironman 70.3, gathered athletes who tested their endurance and speed while wearing their favorite pair of Oakleys. With a total distance of 70.3 kilometers and combining three sports disciplines – an open water swim, a tough bicycle ride, and a long-distance run to complete the three-leg sport — the Cobra Ironman 70.3 was not a feat for the light-hearted.

There are several reasons why the Oakleys are just simply a must-have accessory in every sport and even, in everyday activities. Fred Uytengsu swears by his Oakley sunglasses because of its great optics. “I look for lens clarity and frame durability,” tells this avid triathlete for 12 years.

Columnist and interior designer Tessa Prieto-Valdes never runs without her Oakley eyewear. “They are photogenic so every angle of my face looks great,” But apart from making her fabulous while running, she also likes how they help protect her eyes and its lightweight qualities, “It doesn’t feel heavy even after a full marathon,” she adds.

Her husband, Dennis Valdes, President of Philweb Corporation likes that he can personalize his Oakley sunglasses. “I can customize them to my eyeglass prescription. This way my shades do not only look good, they are functional as well.”

Two-time female group Camsur Ironman 70.3 winner Amanda Carpo considers her Oakley sunglasses essential for racing and training. “Oakley has really thought all the features of these shades through. They really have superior lenses, the best design, and the best fit,” she says.

First Philippine Mount Everest Expedition member Leo Oracion likes how his Oakley looks on him. “It makes you look cool when you are wearing it.” But aside from its aesthetic value, Leo also praises Oakley for its superb quality “I like that it doesn’t bend and it doesn’t make me feel dizzy,” he adds. Running coach, Rio dela Cruz thinks that his Oakley eyewear is the best. “Based on experience it provides superior level of eye protection and exceptional vision during sunny days. Never did I experience difficulty running due to sun’s glare,” he says. “It never failed me; it can withstand various sports elements that I encountered. It even adds up to the comfort of running. It‘s a perfect comfort fit but nonetheless it never fails to make me look stylish and sleek at all times,” he shares.

Multi-sport store owner, coach, and athlete Noy Jopson looks for style and optical clarity when it comes to sunglasses and he’s glad that all of these are provided by his Oakley shades. “I love my split jackets because they are the right size and they already have low light spare lens,” he says. Real estate managing director and racer Raymond John Moreno likes that his Oakley sunglasses gives him a great view of the course when he’s racing while Financial Services Executive and racer Larry Ocampo looks for fit and sharp optics when racing. “It needs to really stay in place and be comfortable at the same time,” he says. He’s glad Oakley sunglasses give him everything he wants and a lot more features. “I like its fit, comfort and sharp optics, plus it looks cool too!”

Polo Tri-racer Joel Ferrer considers his Oakleys indispensible. “They provide maximum protection from glare and dust for my lasik-treated eyes. They are really cool in style and function,” he says. Jim Araneta loves that he can see everything clearly with his Oakley shades. “They protect my eyes from foreign debris and the sun, they look good, fit well and are very comfortable plus everybody wants them,” he adds.

Another Polo Tri-racer and businessman Kirk Arambulo wants his eyewear stylish and at the same time provides both UVA and UVB protection “I like that it has advanced technology optics while looking cool,” he says. Lawyer Maxi Abad likes that his Oakley eyewear makes him look cool, while Geraldine Santiago and Chesca Carpo are very satisfied with Oakley eyewear’s superb protection, especially during biking.

Also sporting Oakley sunglasses during the Cobra Camsur Ironman 70.3 were Bea Locsin,

and 2010 Women’s Division Champion Canadian Magali Tisseyre.

Only the toughest survive this demanding modern sport that is why world-class athletes deserve world-class eye wear. True enough, Oakley eyewear endured the varying environments from the waves of open water to bumpy bicycle rides all throughout the marathon. Oakley, together with the topnotch athletes withstood the hot and humid weather to finish this one-of-a-kind sporting event.

Sports is very important for kids aside from academic progress in school.  We are so lucky that our eldest son has always liked sports and has participated early on in his life.  And we love watching them and being proud of them

Camsur is GK’s only designer province with 4,700 homes totaling more than 120 villages spread in each and every municipality. Our other beneficiaries, the Organ Donor Card program of the HOPE-National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) and the K.I.D.S. Foundation are also able to touch the lives of many with their respective causes and as such, they have our full support,” says Camarines Sur Governor Lray Villafuerte.

Camarines Sur has once again set the standard for world class sporting event that every Filipino will be proud of. It was indeed a day filled with excitement and fun, at the same time self-fulfilling and rewarding for all the participants all for the vision of rebuilding the nation!

Outdoor Fitness

By | Health and Fitness, Sports | One Comment

Thanks to the vision of Governor Tad Abello, the Mahogany park has now, something for all ages.   More and more people are enjoying outdoor fitness activities with marathons, triathlons taking place on a weekly basis all over the country.

p1160381.jpg

The park now has a nicely laid out set of fitness equipment  for park goers and village runners to incorporate in their fitness programs. The layout incorporates a circuit around the perimeter of the park, a separate warm-up/cardio area and a stretching area.
