CWC

The CWC is only 5 minutes away from the airport. It is so nice! This was where the Ironman was held a week before we visited the place. Again the place is very organized and clean. Even if there were a lot of people, the place was clean! You will see staff always cleaning the place….raking the sand by the lake.

The kids really enjoyed. Though the villa was very tempting for us to stay in, have a massage, use the jacuzzi and just relax, we of course hung out in the lake and watched the kids.

This is another accomodation nearest the CWC- it is called the tiki huts. This is the cheapest among all though bathrooms are common

There are tents by the wakeboarding area for eating and for spectators

The launching area

You need to line up and wait for your turn

It goes around one full circle…if you fall somewhere in between, you have to swim to shore and walk back which could be quite tiring carrying the board

For beginners like my 9 year old, you can do knee boarding

It is on its 8^th year now and we wanted to do something very substantial this year to assist the three Cancer organizations the best way possible. If you recall, we have had fun runs for Carewell the past few years. This year, our big run will benefit them directly along with our other two cancer beneficiaries.

I’m Biking For the Tour of Hope 2009

Jeena is the most adventurous woman that I know!! She already showed signs when we were in highschool. She was into all the physical activities! Not only that, she married one of the most active guys in town, Ernie! So you can imagine…and now even their kids are getting into the action and the beauty of it is they seem to be enjoying as a family! I am so glad to finally be featuring Jeena in Heart2Heart!! Not only to counter all the eating we do here 🙂 but to pay tribute to an outstanding woman who inspires us all to JUST DO IT! to be adventurous and explore new things! and at the same time save lives!

And now she tells us she is into biking!! What next?

As some of you may already know, I have recently taken on a new sport: Biking. This was inspired by a a friend who told me about “tour of hope”. It’s a 5-day 500 kilometer bike ride (yes, BICYCLE) from Manila to Camarines Sur in Bicol. Aside from the physical challenge of it all, it’s a charity project to raise funds for Cervical Cancer awareness, and hopefully to prevent one of the most common cancers to afflict women in the Philippines.

During these 5 days May 24-28, there will be seminars and screenings held at the designated rest stops of our bike ride. Hopefully we save some lives and some families from losing their mothers. If I could save just 1 person, my 500 km. ride would be well worth it. The good thing about cervical cancer is it can be detected early and prevented.

Thus I am asking your support to pledge for me for the “tour of hope” and help a lot of women out there. It would be wonderful to know that I am with you at every kilometer I ride for the fight against cervical cancer. Included here is a pledge form for me. I hope I can count on you guys to support this. Thank you from the women you have helped!

2009 South East Asia Youth Baseball-Softball Tournament (Seaybst)

Thanks to Mykie and Keiko for inviting me over to watch the baseball game of Tony!! I drove all the way to Ateneo to see the game and it was worth it. I always wished my two boys would take baseball but they never seemed to be interested. So, when I see the little boys playing out there, I am so amused!

This is a yearly international tournament that is participated by teams from the cities of Perth, Australia; Bangkok, Thailand; Jakarta, Indonesia; Singapore; Hong Kong and Manila, Philippines. The tournament is composed of five age group divisions and there are a total participation of 500 athletes. Members of the Manila team are composed of players from ILLAM. The tournament was hosted by Manila and was held last March 22 to 28 at the playing fields of the Ateneo De Manila University in Quezon City.

Mykie Ozaeta is Assistant Manager and one of the organizers of the tournament at the same time is a proud father of one of the players, Tony

I also saw Rammy and Sia there with their son on the same team

Tony bats very well and always gets to first or second base! Way to go Tony!

When I first arrived, Manila team had no points on the board and Jakarta was winning til the last inning when they made a home run with the bases loaded! WOW!! I WAS SO HAPPY!! I dropped my Malcolm’s burger 🙂 which I was eating and started to jump and jump with joy just like the other parents and players there!
