I don’t know how we could have such a memorable trip had we not had Carin?o, Mojito & Aquaholics. We needed all these babies of Monchu @tina_monchu to explore Busuanga. We spent the whole day out on the boat and it was just a more pleasant experience. Not every year, not even every decade, does a watch become an icon of its generation and an expression of the spirit of its time. In 1979, however, Piaget created just such a timepiece with the Piaget Polo.
Although recognized throughout the world, the Piaget Polo has always had a particular association with New York. It was here in 1985 that the Piaget polo team celebrated the watch by riding down Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. Thus, there could be no greater city or place for Piaget to celebrate the legacy of the original Piaget Polo with the launch of a new watch, for a new generation.
The Rules Rewritten
It takes its name from the elegant and demanding sport of polo. It is infused with the ethos of Piaget Society that was founded on the lasting friendships the brand has formed in the world of music, film, art and sports. It expresses the grammar of shapes that is at the heart of the Piaget DNA. And yet, the Piaget Polo S is the watch for those who challenge conventions. Because, on this exceptional occasion, Piaget has housed an automatic precision movement in a watch of stainless steel.
Featuring an ingenious shape-within-shape that is Piaget’s distinctive hallmark, the Piaget Polo S displays the unique association of a cushion-shaped dial within a round 42mm case. Designed by Piaget, its automatic movement discreetly reveals its beauty through a sapphire case-back. A bracelet of meticulously hand-assembled links alternatingly polished and with a satin finish, completes the experience. The result? A watch that – by day or by night, at work or at play – speaks to and for a new generation.
Five Watches, One Philosophy
The collection is composed of the automatic Piaget Polo S, equipped with the 1110P movement, and the Piaget Polo S Chronograph, equipped with the 1160P movement. Both of these movements have been developed specially for the Piaget Polo S. The automatic Piaget Polo S is available with a blue, silvered or slate-gray dial, while the Piaget Polo S Chronograph is available with a silvered or blue dial.
The Game Changers of Piaget: Nine men, One Spirit
Piaget created the Piaget Polo S for a new generation: a generation of game changers. Like the Piaget Polo S, these men are ready to rewrite the rules. By choosing Piaget for a steel watch, they show with elegance and distinction that they play a different game.Around the world, in recognition of their exceptional talent, Piaget has selected eight such men to wear the Piaget Polo S and to be a Friend of the Maison for their country. These men are not followers. They are driven by passion to make their dreams come true, and impact their world differently. Each a Game Changer in his own profession and an influencer with digital power, they have proved in life and through their careers that they truly embody the spirit and ethos of this unique watch.About Piaget
The unique allure of Piaget lies in the audacity of its style. Charismatic and flamboyant, dazzling watch and jewellery creations embody the radiance that defines the Maison. This passion for daring creativity was born in La Côte-aux-Fées, where Georges-Edouard Piaget set up his first workshop in the family farmhouse and devoted himself to producing high-precision movements. This was back in 1874 and marked the start of an ever-growing reputation. In 1943, the company took a decision that would prove crucial to its future by registering its brand name.
Faithful to its pioneering spirit, in the late 1950s Piaget set about designing and manufacturing the ultra-thin movements that would become one of the Maison’s signatures and leave a lasting imprint on the art of watchmaking.
But Piaget has also always represented a style: a marriage of gold and an explosion of color, new shapes, precious gems, and dials made of hard stones. Swept to new heights of creativity driven by Yves G. Piaget, the Maison’s jewellery collection grew in an original direction with a resolute emphasis on color, giving birth to the iconic Piaget look. Building on over 140 years of history, the ever-bold Maison continues to innovate by offering jewels in motion, elegant and extravagant High Jewellery collections, as well as remarkable watches. In a world unconstrained by boundaries, Piaget the watchmaker-jeweller continues to explore unexpected creative possibilities, turning gold, stones and gems into brilliant works of art.
Piaget has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to supporting cinema and the arts. In February 2017, Piaget will once again be serving as Premier Sponsor of the Film Independent Spirit Awards for the tenth consecutive year.
Piaget is exclusively available in Silver Vault Rustan’s Makati and City of Dreams Manila.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is an annual event since 1950 where only the best and most rare cars from all over the world are invited to exhibit and compete at the beautiful venue, the 18th Fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Link. First conducted in 1950, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is often said to be the world’s premier celebration of the automobile. Only the most beautiful and rare automobiles are invited to appear on the famed eighteenth fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links each year, and connoisseurs of art and technology congregate to see them. This year 219 cars from 16 countries competed at the event.

Beautiful temporary tents were set up by in different areas by the car companies who sponsored the event, Cadillac, Tesla, Lexus, Infinity and Mac Laren
You will think that only men will be at the show, but people from all ages including ladies and pets who attend the event.
A pretty poodle who got just as many photos as the cars
A young boy going around taking photos of the cars
Many ladies chatting with other ladies and wearing beautiful hats! A perfect occasion to display your most beautiful and colourful hats and serves as a double purpose as shade from the heat which can reach over a hundred degrees
It is a very well attended event and at the same time, a donation is made to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation. This year they were able to raise $2 million and around $20 million since they started 65 years ago.
“I continue to be inspired by the generosity of the collector car community,” said Concours Chairman Sandra Button. “Entrants bring their automotive treasures here to share with others, judges bring their expertise, sponsors often debut new cars and provide items for opportunity drawings—and, together, we are able to make a solid contribution to better the lives of others.”
“It is easy to see the affluence of this area, but we cannot overlook the many needs in this county,” Pebble Beach Company CEO William Perocchi said. “It’s because of the generosity of our donors and charity partners that we can significantly impact the lives of Monterey County residents. The money raised during this event, and in turn distributed to our community partners, helps those in need.” It is a worthwhile event to see even atleast once in your life if you love cars. And for the rest of the family, definitely something to enjoy as well and continue on to visit Monterey, Carmel and the Big Sur which are in the near vicinity of the show.
Antonio “Toti” Zara, President and Managing Director Antonio of Nissan Philippines talks about bringing a Virtual game, Grand Turismo ( by Playstation ) , to Pro Racing through the first GTAcademy in the Philippines. 20 Finalists will be selected and The top 6 performers from these National Finals are then invited to take part in the Final Selection Round – an intense Race Camp competition held at the famous Silverstone Racing Circuit in England. Here, the action jumps from the virtual cars of the PS3™ game to actual Nissan sports cars, as competitors are tested on their strength, stamina, mental agility and driving skills. Judges look for pure talent, drive, passion and dedication to determine who really has what it takes to become a professional racecar driver.
GT Academy is an international virtual-to-reality contest that allows the best Gran Turismo players to compete for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a real-life professional racecar driver. Any player who proves his or her skill in the virtual world has a chance to go wheel-to-wheel in a real racecar on a real circuit to achieve the grand prize – a spot on the Nissan racing team, and all the training and licensing needed to race in international events.
Created in 2008 by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Polyphony Digital Inc., in collaboration with Nissan Europe, this competition has grown in popularity all over the world, with the launch of a U.S. GT Academy in 2011.
Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) is the newest participant of the virtual-to-pro racing competition, the GT Academy.
GT Academy gained prominence since its inception in 2008. Now on its seventh installment, this globally played competition sees an expansion in the form of the new GT Academy Asia, in which Philippines will be pitting against other Asian countries including Japan in the battle to become the GT Academy Champion.
“With the launch of GT Academy in the Philippines, we at Nissan offer an exciting opportunity for Filipinos to emerge as a breakthrough talent in the racing world,” said Antonio Zara, President and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines, Inc.
With GT Academy, any player who can prove their driving skills in the world of video games can compete in a real racetrack. The GT Academy International Champion 2014 Ricardo Sanchez flew in all the way from UK to attend the launch. After winning last year’s competition, Ricardo’s racing career took off after he joined Nissan’s elite motor sport team, the NISMO, to run the coveted tracks of the prestigious Dubai 24-Hour race in January 2015.
The Shift from Gamer to Racer
GT Academy takes skilled Gran Turismo 6 players and turns them into professional racers in five stages.
First Gear: The Recruitment (April – June)
Thousands of hopefuls will be narrowed down to the top 20 gamers to be determined by time trials taking place behind the wheel of GT pods during live racing events.
Second Gear: National Finals (July)
The National Finals will determine top 6 Filipino players who will go to the next round and go bumper-to-bumper with the best Gran Turismo drivers in Asia.
Third Gear: The Race Camp Week (August)
Players will be tested on their strength, stamina, mental agility and driving skills against Asia’s best at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in UK.
Fourth Gear: Driver Development Program
The emerging GT Academy Champion in Asia will join other GT Academy winners in a rigorous training under the wing of professional coaches and racers at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in UK.
Fifth Gear: Graduation
After passing the Driver Development Program, graduates will receive their International C License, allowing them to compete in a prestigious racing event anywhere in the world.
“We are looking forward to discovering even more new stars in 2015. Anyone in the Philippines who thinks they have what it takes should give GT Academy a go. Not everyone can win, but the experience is hugely rewarding at every stage of the competition.” said GTA Global’s Managing Director Laurence Wiltshire.
The top Gran Turismo gamers can qualify through live recruitment events to be held nationwidetime trials using pre-selected Nissan vehicles. Thousands of hopefuls are narrowed down to a selected few, who will then participate in a National Final Event where they battle in special racing pods during a series of live Gran Turismo elimination rounds.
Ricardo Sanchez ( so handsome!!!! ) from Mexico just joined this same competition when he went to the mall and today he is The GT Academy International Champion for 2014
He is inside a Simulator Pod where the aspiring gamers will compete for a place in the National Finals. The competition is open to any Filipino that dreams to be a race car driver!
The top performers from these National Finals are then invited to take part in the Final Selection Round – an intense Race Camp competition held at the famous Silverstone Racing Circuit in England.
