Hotel Continentale, Florence

By | Travel | No Comments

About five years ago, we stayed in this boutique hotel in Florence which is owned by the Ferragamos.  It was a time when boutique hotels were just starting to crop up and we were of course so thrilled at the concept.  I wish I had taken more and better photos, but here is a compilation from those who took photos

Luggage Tags

By | Travel, What's New at Rustan's | One Comment

It has been a practice of our family to tie all sorts of ribbons on our luggage to be able to identify them quickly when they are going around the trolley in the airport.  We noticed however that everyone is doing the same thing nowadays.  So we have to try to look for unique colors or designs to tell them apart

p1150717.JPG

I was so happy to see these MIGHTY TAGS in Rustan’s department store!!!  They are similar to the tags the airlines put around your luggage and they are sturdy and now you can definitely identify your luggage…..unless everyone starts buying the same designs 🙂

Hotel Venezia, Legazpi City

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Hotel Venezia is owned by the same owners of Misibis Bay.  This is where some people stay when they go to the Whale Shark Interaction.  It is around an hour away from the hotel. So, I would recommend that if you plan to do the Whale Shark Interaction, you can move from Misibis Bay Resort to Hotel Venezia so you will be closer and half way there already- one hour instead of two hours away 🙂 So we hope to come back one day and stay here and do the Whale Shark adventure!

In between our tour of Legazpi City, we were fortunate to have stopped by to have lunch at the hotel

Trick Shots by the Cagsawa Ruins

By | Photography, Travel, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

By the Cagsawa Ruins, there are young kids there who you can ask to take trick shots of yourselves!!! It’s so much fun!! 🙂  You can just give them any amount.

Here is John.  We told him to take all the kinds of shots 🙂    And they know how to handle the camera. You will be surprised they take nice shots!

Touring Legazpi City

By | Travel | 2 Comments

The resort can arrange tours as well.  We did not do the whale shark interaction which everyone goes here for because we decided to stick closer to the resort.  The Whale Share Interaction is 2 hours away from Misibis Bay.  Normally, people who go there stay in that area already or stay in Legazpi City which is about an hour away.

We enjoyed very much the tour and it was nice to see what the city has to offer!! We were surprised at the development of the city.  Worried though about Mayon Volcano being very near

Activities At Misibis Bay

By | Sports, Travel | No Comments

When in Misibis, you don’t really need to do anything but relax and enjoy the place, but in case you want to do more than to relax, there are many many options 🙂

activitiesmisibis.jpggames-and-sportsmisibis.jpgfacilitiesmisibis.jpgequipmentmisibis.jpgoutdoorwatersportsmisibis.jpgdsc_6692-copy.JPGimg_0504-copy.JPGdsc_1853-copy.JPGdsc_0887.jpgp1180665-copy.JPGdsc_3173.JPGdsc_2981.JPG

You need to go out a few minutes from the resort to go do the other activities- zipline and paintball

dsc_3007.jpgdsc_3008.JPGdsc_3009.JPGdsc_3018.JPGdsc_3020.JPGdsc_3021.JPGdsc_3022.jpgdsc_3030.jpgdsc_3033.jpg

It’s very safe – for smaller kids- they can do it with an adult

dsc_3114.JPGdsc_3115.JPG

then once they have tried it, they will realize they can do it alone 🙂

Villas at Misibis Bay

By | Travel | 4 Comments

Here is a map of the whole resort.  You cannot find this in their website but it will hopefully help you choose what villa/suite you would like to stay in.  Each one has their own preferences and needs so you might want to plan in advance

Villas by the Lagoon Pool

For the villas that do not have their own private pools, there is the Lagoon pool.  It’s so nice because from your living room, you can just go out and go straight to the pool.  And if you are a big family staying in the different villas nearby, you can just meet up in the pool.  For families with kids, it will be easier for the parents to watch and monitor their kids in the pool while staying inside their villa or in the balcony of their villa. So it is very convenient.

There are different room options and kinds of villas, We were not able to go and check out each and every kind, so make sure to check on the configurations and features to be sure they meet your requirements

This was the suite we stayed in which is a 2 bedroom.  Reminds me so much of Discovery Shores in Boracay as the original management was run by the same group as Discovery Shores, The Raintree Group.  Though I heard they are not the ones managing it anymore at the time we were there

dsc_1790.JPG

As you enter the door, it’s the living room but since it can be converted into another room, it was set up this way for the two kids.  There is a door that connects to the bathroom of one of the bedrooms

dsc_1791.JPG

and it has its own TV

One of the bedrooms which can share a bathroom with the people staying in the living room.  The layout is similar to Discovery Shores also

dsc_1793.JPG

even the amenities remind me of Discovery Shores 🙂

The other bedroom which is the Master bedroom

dsc_1797.JPGdsc_1796.JPGdsc_1798.JPG

with a big and beautiful bathroom 🙂

 Beachfront Villas

All villas are facing the beach but you need to go down some stairs to get to the beach

This is suite 18 and 19 which is the farthest and nearest to the mountain

dsc_1829.JPG

Villa 16 and 17 – Big Families like this because it is two suites together and connected like one house – plus it is very private as it is far away from the main area already and second closest to the mountain

dsc_1836.JPG

Villa 15

dsc_1837.JPG

If there is Villa 13 in Shang Boracay ( Villa 13 Shangri-la Boracay April 16, 2009), there is a Villa 11 in Misibis Bay. James and i are having an argument as to which one it should be whether Villa 11 or Villa 12.

dsc_1785.JPGdsc_1756.JPGdsc_1847.JPGdsc_1850.JPGdsc_1772aa.jpgdsc_1773.JPG

Only because Villa 11, though it has its own private pool which faces the beach ,

dsc_1758.JPGdsc_1757.JPGdsc_1769.JPGdsc_1771.JPG

to the right is the main infinity pool which is in the center of the resort and the center of the beach where all the cabanas are, so if there are people there, it might not be so private.

So James, prefers Villa 12 which is a little farther to the main pool but has more privacy and is beachfront

dsc_1766.JPGdsc_1768.JPG

This is Villa 12 🙂

 dsc_1835.JPG

Always make sure to choose the location you like best so you will enjoy your stay.  I am lucky my husband takes care of all the research before we get to our destination.  What’s good for him is good for us 🙂
