The CWC is only 5 minutes away from the airport.  It is so nice!  This was where the Ironman was held a week before we visited the place.  Again the place is very organized and clean.  Even if there were a lot of people, the place was clean!  You will see staff always cleaning the place….raking the sand by the lake.

The kids really enjoyed.  Though the villa was very tempting for us to stay in, have a massage, use the jacuzzi and just relax,  we of course hung out in the lake and watched the kids.

This is another accomodation nearest the CWC- it is called the tiki huts.  This is the cheapest among all though bathrooms are common

dsc_6699.JPG

There are tents by the wakeboarding area for eating and for spectators

The launching area

dsc_6717.JPG

You need to line up and wait for your turn

dsc_6733.JPGdsc_6734.JPGdsc_6737.JPGdsc_6746.JPG

It goes around one full circle…if you fall somewhere in between, you have to swim to shore and walk back which could be quite tiring carrying the board

dsc_6727.jpg

dsc_6779.JPG

For beginners like my 9 year old, you can do knee boarding

Villa del Rey, CWC

By | Travel | 3 Comments

We chose to stay at the Villas which is accessible from the main clubhouse where you check in.  Suddenly when we arrived,  I just wanted to stay in the villa 🙂

dsc_6881.JPG

I looked at the sheet of paper they gave me and the words MASSAGE SERVICE, particularly ROOM SERVICE 🙂  was the only thing that appealed to me at that moment 🙂

dsc_6678.JPGdsc_6676.JPGdsc_6748.JPGdsc_6674.JPGdsc_6673.JPGdsc_6764.JPGdsc_6765.JPG

The Villa del Rey has its own private pool..and when we were there – there was hardly anyone in the pool- so you can imagine having the pool all to yourself!

dsc_6852.JPGdsc_6854.JPG

Reminds me a bit of a Shangri-la resort…

dsc_6763.JPGdsc_6752.JPG

You have your own gate/entrance to your villa

dsc_6750.JPGdsc_6754.jpgdsc_6753.jpg

Which leads to a little patio and garden

dsc_6755.JPGdsc_6756.JPG

The room

dsc_6759.JPGdsc_6761.JPGdsc_6760.jpg

There is a side door which leads you to your own jaccuzi…..

dsc_6857.jpgdsc_6856.JPG

They have a room service menu but apparently they get the food all the way from the Mansion Suites, so when it arrives it comes in styro take away bags.

dsc_6879.jpg

We ended up eating out in the patio but did not have the proper dining amenities.  I suggest that you just go out to the waterpark or go to the Mansion Suites to eat.

dsc_6860.JPG

Also, in the room, there is a window high above the room which does not have a curtain – it brings in natural light. For those who like to sleep in the dark, make sure you bring your silk Spa Sister sleep masks ( Spa Sister Silk Sleep Mask June 8, 2009 ) 🙂

Accommodation in CWC

By | Travel | No Comments

We went to CWC ( Camsur Watersports Center ) for the kids since they wanted to wakeboard!  You have lots of choices of accomodation when you go to CWC. When you arrive you go to the main clubhouse which is like arriving in a beautiful resort 🙂

dsc_6915.JPGdsc_6748.JPG

You check in in the desk depending on which accomodation you chose

dsc_6669.JPGdsc_6676.JPG

All are walking distance to CWC but there are some that are nearer.  The farthest would be the Mansion Suites, then the Villas.  There are free shuttles anyway to take you there and take you back.

The others are much nearer depending on which part of the area your trailer/wood cabin/caban is located.

We wanted to look at all kinds so we could see how each one looked but had no time anymore.  Though we were able to see the Mansion Suites since we had breakfast there.  It is the farthest from the Wakeboarding area but I think it would be the second best in the complex.

The place is a bit old, but renovated and made to have that modern look and feel 🙂

dsc_6890.JPG

Presidential Suites- they have 4 and are all in the same floor dsc_6895.JPGdsc_6891.JPGdsc_6892.JPGdsc_6894.JPGdsc_6896.JPG

Daing in Naga Market

By | Finds, Travel | 7 Comments

This is the second thing my bestfriend Eds told me to do. Buy ” Nora Aunor” in the market! She actually said to just send someone to the market and have them buy it…but Mom and I went because we wanted to see for ourselves. Eds told me also to bring a tupperware to put the daing inside so that we could bring it home.  It will avoid having your other things in your luggage/bag smelling like daing.  Next time, I need to bring a really big tupperware so Ic an bring home more !! 🙂

WOW!! They have a section dedicated to dried fish.  How organized can they be?  I told you someone is behind this!

dsc_6570.JPGdsc_6571.JPGdsc_6572.JPGdsc_6573.JPGdsc_6574.JPGdsc_6575.JPGdsc_6576.JPGdsc_6577.JPGdsc_6581.JPGdsc_6582.JPGdsc_6584.jpgdsc_6586.JPGdsc_6588.JPGdsc_6589.jpgdsc_6590.jpgdsc_6591.JPGdsc_6592.JPG

We were trying to figure out which one was Nora Aunor…and the guy heard us talking and he said this one… called “NEW LOOK.”  So we got some.  We tried it and it was really good!

Though Eds told me that Nora Aunor apparently is seasonal……So maybe they were offering something similar called “New look.”

Chef Doy’s and Grissini

By | Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

This is where we did not eat in Naga!  🙁  We wanted to have our first meal here but for some reason they had no electricity.  We tried again for lunch the next day but still no electricity.  Dexter and many others recommended this place since they say it is owned by a former Mandarin Hotel Chef and I think also the chef from Avenue Plaza Hotel.

It is just one block down from Avenue Hotel.  Mom and I were so frustrated we did not eat here.  I heard that the Italian restaurant beside it is also good, Grissini.

Naga Oriental Wok

I think around 3 people, including the hotel driver, mentioned to me to eat in the CHINESE retaurant across the hotel.  No one ever mentioned a name…so I figured this must be the one since it is the only Chinese restaurant across the hotel 🙂

It was very decent and very good 🙂

Church of Nuestra Señora de Peña de Francia, Naga

By | Travel | 3 Comments

My bestfriend Eds is from Naga and I asked her what places I should go to and she gave me only two important places to go to and one of them is this…the Church of the Peñafrancia. So we had our Sunday mass here. I love old churches!

Touring Naga

By | Travel | 12 Comments

We hired a taxi to take us around the city – it was cheaper than renting the hotel car.   And we could not find any rent a car company in Naga.  So we were lucky to use the services of  Eugene to drive us around.  He was proud that his company cars were all brand new 🙂 He was happy I took a photo of him 🙂

The city is not very big.  It is around 20 minutes from the airport to get to the center.

dsc_6599.JPGsc002024d5.jpg

First stop, the new SM City!!  A sure sign of progress and potential in the area!

dsc_6340.JPG

Many Many people – it was a Saturday

dsc_6342.JPG

Heart2Heart is so happy that SM is also embarking on environmental concerns.  I believe that it is important because SM reaches to a very very wide range of the population and if they can educate the majority of the population, then our country will definitely be more conscious and aware of environmental issues

dsc_6343.jpgdsc_6344.JPG

I heard that Biggs is a popular easing place in Naga, I hope to get to try it next timedsc_6338.JPG

This was their branch inside SM

 dsc_6346.JPGdsc_6349.JPG

Wow!! Where can you eat in a nice diner like this with prices like these!  So affordable and I am sure VERY GOOD!

dsc_6350.jpg

We stopped by the Ateneo….. Dad was feeling proud because it was a beautiful campus

dsc_6541.jpgdsc_6520.JPG

with a beautiful church

and their version of the Pieta

dsc_6533.jpgdsc_6534.jpgdsc_6537.JPGdsc_6539.jpgdsc_6540.JPG

More Churches around the city…they must be very religious

dsc_6660.JPGdsc_6542.JPG

Religious statues

dsc_6543.JPG

Cathedral of Naga

dsc_6548.JPGdsc_6551.JPG

Eugene took us to this pasalubong center near the market…here you can buy all the native delicacies…mostly pili nuts

dsc_6567.JPGdsc_6557.JPGdsc_6559.JPGdsc_6560.JPGdsc_6561.jpgdsc_6562.JPGdsc_6563.JPGdsc_6564.JPG

I don’t normally listen to politicians talk but when I see a city or a nation that is improving and developing, someone must be behind all that….. and I can feel it strongly in Naga.  That is the only time I ask, who is the Governor here? Who is is responsible for this? for making a difference?

Across the Avenue Plaza Hotel is Avenue Square with restaurants, shops and other services…..

Most importantly, there is a spa! 🙂 We had no time to try it but I checked it out and I think it will be enough for a quick stay in Naga and it is conveniently located beside the hotel
