Mañana Mexican Cuisine, Boracay

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

This place was ecommended by our brother Quito and Gil and Christine.  After a heavy breakfast at Discovery Shores, we decided to have a late and light lunchmanana1.JPGmanana2.JPGmanana3.JPGp1070859.JPGsorry about the soup pagep1070860.JPGp1070861.JPGp1070862.JPGp1070863.JPGp1070864.JPGp1070865.JPG

We had the Mañana Combination. YUMMY!  I guess when you are only two, you don’t get to try many dishes.  That is when I miss my big family of 18 where we order and order and share and share 🙂p1070874.JPG

Real Coffee and Tea Cafe, Boracay

By | Foodie, Travel | 9 Comments

Benjo told us to go here last November but we did not have time.  But this trip, we made sure we went.  Thanks also to Gil and Christine for telling us about it.  We love it!!

For those who have not been here yet, be careful not to miss it, it is inside the street and not on the beach front strip

dsc_5274.JPGdsc_5276.JPG

The owner, Lee, was there with her two dogs.  Lee is half Italian and half American

dsc_5282.JPG

I love that the place is so native!! So Filipino!

dsc_5299.JPGdsc_5279.JPGdsc_5294.JPGdsc_5293.JPG

I like the kitchen, it is just a simple set up and it looks just like a home kitchen

dsc_5297.JPG

Oh my gosh! oh my gosh!! Freshly baked calamansi muffins just came out of the oven when we arrived!!! WOW!! This is what they are famous for.  You can also take home in boxes of 6, 9 and 12.  We did not get anymore because we were overweight already 🙂  besides, it is best to eat it there and have the whole experience!

dsc_5285.JPG

Love the menu!!

dsc_5291.JPG

We asked for their best seller breakfast and the girl said the Jacks Omelette – but since we found 3 eggs too much even to share, we got the Jack A Lean.  LOVED IT!!!!!! We never had an omelette with pesto.  Make sure to try it with PESTO!  I thought I would not like it since I am not a big fan of tuna, but this omelette was really good!

dsc_5304.JPG

It went so well with that DELICIOUS TOAST on the side spread with mango jam!! YUMMY!!!

dsc_5305.JPG

Look at the filling oozing out of the omelette!!

dsc_5306.JPGdsc_5303.JPG

Real Coffee

dsc_5301.JPG

and of course we had to have the calamansi muffin

dsc_5296.JPG

This is how we ate it- we rip the outer shell of the muffin because it is toasted and crunchy!  🙂

dsc_5300.JPGdsc_5292.JPG

Definitely we will be back to try the others!

Discovery Shores the Second Time Around

By | Travel | 3 Comments

This is our second time to stay at Discovery Shores and it was even better than the first…same place but a unique experience the second time around

As usual, we had a very warm welcome when we arrived

 second-tim110.jpg

It’s those details that count whether big or small……the Welcome Home sign made us feel more at home and that fresh buko lychee drink when we arrived was soooooo….refreshing!!!

second-tim2.jpg

Wow!! All these welcome gifts from the hotel and from the wedding couple…..

second-tim3.jpg

It was not JR this time, but Carlo who brought us to our room

second-tim4.jpg         second-tim5.jpg

We tried the one bedroom suite this time….Wow!! Beautiful!

second-tim6.jpgsecond-tim7.jpgsecond-tim8.jpg

Since the airplane has a weight limit of ten kilos, I am so glad they provide all these amenities 🙂

second-tim101.jpgsecond-tim91.jpg

We have a bath tub!!! I only get to have this luxury when in hotels, so I take advantage.  Just make sure to roll down the roman shades 🙂

second-tim11.jpg

This was a very pleasant surprise!  The first evening when we went to the room, we saw our pillows had our names embroidered on them!  We could not believe it.  What a nice touch!!  They said they would keep those linens for us so that when we come back, they will use those same pillowcases again

And this is new from Discovery Shores…

PAL Express

By | Travel | No Comments

I am terrified to ride small planes!! So, I was so happy to hear that there was this PAL EXPRESS which was a 50+ seater which we used last November to Boracay.   It was a very very pleasant flight, it was on time, it was not scary at all!  So I made sure we took the same flight this trip….. and again the same great experience.  Going back home, we were the ones that were even late – it took off 20 minutes before schedule.  WOW!  I am taking PAL EXPRESS all the time to Boracay!

Packing Cubes

By | Finds, Great Inventions, Household Tips, Travel | 4 Comments

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have been eyeing this for a long time, so for Valentine’s Day i treated myself and bought 3 sets – for me and my two sons.  It is P 690.00 for a set of 4!  We each have our own colors, of course mine is pink 🙂  So just in time for my trip, I used it already and it is the BEST!! All I do when I arrive in the hotel is bring out the 4 bags and just put it in the closet.  And the most benefit I will see in the future is when we travel with the boys.  Atleast now we can segragate their clothes especially since they share one luggage most of the time.  And it will relieve me of the task of fixing the clothes when we arrive.  Now, it is an instant  and quick unpacking!! Inventions like these are BLESSINGS to me!! Less hassle! Less stress!  Hopefully it will teach my kids to be organized too.

Random shots in Tokyo and Osaka

There are just so many things you see when you travel!  Many of which say a lot about the people, their culture and it is so interesting! Like how the Japanese are so disciplined and organized amidst chaos….I wish I took more photos.  Till our next Japan adventure!

Heart2Heart loves Japan!!

Most stores sell a NEW YEAR BAG which is  a surprise bag- you do not know what is inside but all the items are put together and have a sale price- I guess they do this to get rid of their slow moving or sale items- good gimmick! I see many people buying them

Crab Resto in Osaka

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

Wow! If you love crab, this is the place to be!

This restaurant was really jam packed! We were so lucky to get a table.  The others could not make it since they were late and we had to get the available table.  And to think there are several floors.
