Wildfire

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

When you are in the Hong Kong International Airport, stop by Wildfire even to just a get a pizza.  We discovered this through our nieces who always makes sure to get their pizza before leaving Hong Kong.  It’s something different away from the fastfood section of the airport. 471317867503_0_bg.jpghk0005.jpg hk0006.jpg    181317867503_0_bg.jpg222039867503_0_bg.jpg422039867503_0_bg.jpg [email_link]

Delicious Kitchen recommended by ConCon and Sheeba too- crispy pork chop and cabbage rice.  Decent place and price is very reasonable.   ( off the Arcade- but parallel to it )

It is quite difficult to take photos in Hong Kong, so pardon some of the photos.  They are very watchful especially since my camera is bigger than the normal pocket size digital camera. And even with the pocket size digital camera, they prohibit it so I have to hide until I get caught……..[email_link]

Park Lane Hotel  We discovered this hotel from our friends Con Con and Sheeba. This is already our second time to stay here and it is perfect for us.  We like it because  it is conveniently located near the MTR ( subway ) which is a block away.  The rooms are beautiful and cozy….   207186867503_0_bg.jpg578096867503_0_bg.jpgHaagen Dazs, HMV and Ikea’s entrance is right beside the side entrance of the hotel.   996186867503_0_bg.jpg 701986867503_0_bg.jpg Windsor House is right across – where there is Toys R”Us ( not as big and complete as the  main one in Ocean Terminal but sill okay ), KFC, Mc Donald’s Royal Palace ( one of James’ favorite dimsum restos ) and the Computer Mall we always go to.     675686867503_0_bg.jpg311676867503_0_alb.jpg172356867503_0_bg.jpgAt night, it is very lively and shops are open later till around 10 pm. Though shops open later in the morning – around 11 am.    Which is sort of an advantage because the streets are not busy (which is totally the opposite from the rest of the day starting lunch time ) in the morning and you can get to the MTR right away and get to other places around Hong Kong without much chaos. 842346867503_0_bg.jpg

Do try it if you want to stay somewhere different when in Hong Kong.

2008 Travel Trends from TWI

By | Travel | No Comments

With the strengthening of the peso, now would be a good time to TRAVEL outside the Philippines….jan08flyer-jpeg.jpg
Travel Warehouse Inc is pleased to present the 2008 travel trends! For the first quarter of 2008 expect low airfares to Asia such as Hongkong, Shanghai, Singapore and Bangkok, bigger carriers will compete with budget carriers in terms of rates. Single travel ( as many singles can afford to travel), medical tourism, heritage tours, free and easy tours, Asian cruises will be on high demand for this year.  Beijing is the center of tourism now, not only in Asia but the whole world as the summer Olympics is getting near.  If you plan to go on Beijing expect a higher rates and plan ahead of time.

As per Philippine tourism, destinations like Boracay, Bohol and Cebu will offer more choices in terms of hotel and resorts, as new investments are happening there.  Batanes is really promising but again rooms and flights here are not sufficient to accommodate the high demands. Please see the attached flier to get details of our latest promotions.

Feel free to call us for details at (632) 6872490 to 92 or email us back. We will be glad to help you in planning your next trip!

Cebu Foodie

By | Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

When you are in a resort, it’s important that the food is good so that you do not need to keep leaving the place just to eat.  At Shangri-la Mactan, be assured of beautiful restaurants with nice ambience and good food.Breakfast is included with the room and you can have it either at Tides, the coffeeshop or at Acqua, the Italian restaurant.  Since the hotel has 2 wings, they made it more convenient for the guests to go down to whichever restaurant is nearer to their rooms. BREAKFAST AT TIDES

We walked all the way to Acqua even if it is in the farther wing because it is not as full as Tides. Breakfast buffet is almost the same as Tides, but we prefer a more quiet and stress free breakfast Tea of Spring seems to be the family’s favorite.  We had dinner……..429424095503_0_bg.jpg one of the favorite dishes..prawns wrapped in bacon with mayo…461425095503_0_bg.jpgand then lunch for the dimsum ACQUA, Italian Restaurant We were able to eat outside the hotel a few times….Always a must is to pass by Pipo’s at Ayala mall for an After 8 gelato!14.jpg23.jpg  3.jpg Tried out this japanese restaurant for the first time ….and enjoyed it! They had some interesting dishes which we never had in other japanese restaurants. 137830406503_0_bg.jpgAnd of course, SUNBURST!!!  Eversince we were kids and we  first went to Cebu, Sunburst is the chicken place to be.
