Maquinit Hot Springs @maquinit_hotspring_official in Coron. It’s one of the rare salt water hot springs in the world. We drove around 45 minutes from Marina del Sol to get here. The best time would be very early in the morning (5am) or at night around 6-8pm so you can see the steam. It’s clean water because “There are 2 sources of the spring water, my mother enclosed it and then she made a bigger enclosure to capture the overflow of the 2 small pools. It’s a continuous flow, non-stop.
The overflow of the big pool flows to the sea.
The resort is protected with 7 species of mangroves and has become a habitat for birds and fishes.” – Lia Sandoval Ramos (owner) #maquinithotspring #h2hcoron #h2hspa #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines #itsmorefuninthephilippines
Close encounter with the mangroves at @maquinit_hotspring_official They do not allow people to take their showers in the resort due to proximity to the sea and also the shampoo/hair conditioner/body soap might have toxic substances that will be harmful to our environment.
They have a misting area where you can rinse and a dressing area. They have toilets too.
Don’t forget to bring beach towels to dry yourselves and dry clothes #h2hcoron #h2hspa #maquinithotspring #itsmorefuninthephilippines #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines
We had the whole place to ourselves because the owner of @maquinit_hotspring_official granted my request to not have anyone there since I was scared of covid! So we cane before it opened at 4pm ! It is not a coincidence that I met this wonderful lady – Lia Sandoval Ramos who is a neighbor and apparently owns a hot spring ( which I love) and how timely that we were going to Palawan. It’s definitely not a coincidence- She is God sent and I am so happy to meet her! not only because she owns a hot spring but because she is such a warm and kind soul!! What a blessing to have experienced a natural wonder from God & to have met such a lady #h2hpeople #h2hspa #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines #h2hcoron
I saw these jellyfishes in the Lio Airport last month and now again in @maquinit_hotspring_official I asked Lia about them & apparently it’s a work of art by a community that the artist, Jojo Orcullo, @orcullojojo helps in Palawan. It’s so nice and it helps these kids!! #h2hart #h2hphilippineart #h2hgivingback #h2hkids #h2hcoron #jojoorcullo
Cozy and good food at @marinadelsol.busuanga resto & bar A lot of comfort food favorites like cheesesticks, garlic french fries ( requested by Rene ) fried chicken. Yummy kilawin since it’s so fresh #marinadelsolph #h2hbusuanga
Dinner by the deck at @marinadelsol.busuanga Paella cooked by Monchu, Tanguige by Margot @gottiegarcia Fresh sea mantis cooked 3 ways – steamed, thermidore & grilled. Yum! #h2hbusuanga #h2hseafood
Our home for the weekend – Marina del Sol @marinadelsol.busuanga in Busuanga. Formerly known as Puerta del Sol which was owned by Mike Batchelor – An American who designed the Manila Peninsula. The Garcia family ( Rayomar) bought it and the eldest son Monchu @mon_tzu is running it and now renamed Marina del Sol (Oct. 2018). It is located in a beautiful & peaceful cove and it’s a home for boats. There are 10 villas and it’s good for 20 adults. It’s a perfect bubble island for a group. Contact

According to Monchu the best villa in @marinadelsol.busuanga is Starfish villa because it’s the nearest to the restaurant and water access. So the first 3 are what is best located. There are 4 villas which have a cabana and there are 4 casitas which are the same rooms as the villas but don’t have cabanas. Then there’s a 2 bedroom villa which is in the highest part of the island. We are very comfortable here at @marinadelsol.busuanga #h2htraveltips #h2hbusuanga #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines #marinadelsolph #itsmorefuninthephilippines
During the day, the deck is even more beautiful. My favorite spot in @marinadelsol.busuanga We have been having our breakfasts & dinners here and it’s just so beautiful. They also use this as an events area and many have their intimate weddings here which can accomodate up to 30 people plus you can use the pool and the main resto & bar #marinadelsol #h2hbusuanga #h2hcelebrations
Can’t get enough of views at the cove of @marinadelsol.busuanga & the neighboring resorts. As Ichay @ichaybulaong says – just looking at water is “healing” #h2hbusuanga #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines #itsmorefuninthephilippines
My first time to ride a seaplane & I love it! There’s only one seaplane to take & it’s a good thing it’s a nice plane @airtrav.ph with a handsome & young French pilot Shaun & pretty co pilot Julie who just disappeared & i saw her outside the plane when we landed!! It was a beautiful flight since we were flying low!! Don’t sleep – look out during the flight. Smooth landing & landed straight in our destination @marinadelsol.busuanga You get a better deal if you are going to Marina del Sol. You can also use the regular plane but you need to take a 40 mins road trip to the resort. Everyone is required to take a PCR test before flying #h2hbusuanga #airtravph #h2htravel #h2hitsmorefuninthephilippines
Travel bubble flight is the best option. @airswift.airlinesph has a 42 seater and a 72 seater. All staff is tested daily. Tip: You don’t pay for the dead leg so it’s more cost effective. You can charter the whole flight – one leg going then the leg coming back. Even if it’s not full, you can now bring more luggage. You can also try @airtaxi.ph #h2htraveltips #h2hariara
Everyone is very careful with their own safety protocols. Plastic between the driver & passengers in the van. Disinfectant booth in the airport. PPE suits for staff #itsmorefuninthephilippines #h2htraveltips #h2hcovid #h2hariara
The usual way to @ariaraisland – From Manila you take a short commercial flight to Busuanga (Coron) regional airport for a private transfer to Ariara by sea. Helicopter transfer from Busuanga to Ariara is also possible. Or you can charter an amphibious aircraft from Manila Bay to Ariara direct. – But because we used @airswift.airlinesph we landed in Lio airport, El Nido. You need to take a 30-45 min car ride to the pier and another 1 and 1/2 hr boat ride ( could be longer if the waves are strong) Their main boat can take 7 or so passengers so the rest of the group took a bangka which took an hour longer #h2hariara
Our cottage for the week. Beach cottage 4 beside beach cottage 3. There are 4 beach cottages in @ariaraisland This is nice for couples and if you have kids it would be nice to get the whole cluster – 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 ( in photo) Ariara is by Architect Jorge Yulo @yulojorge #h2hariara#h2hinteriors
There are 2 jungle villas in @ariaraisland and this ( Jungle 2 ) is the biggest on the island. It’s 2 floors with 2 bedrooms on the top floor. It can be 2 couples or be for a family. The other jungle villa is identical with the second bedroom being a small ( single bed) bedroom. The resort is 10 years old but it’s well maintained #h2hariara The Pier suite which is on top of the clubhouse has a lounge and one of the best views on the island @ariaraisland #h2hariara
The cottage near the spa is a family cottage which has 3 beds inside!! I love the log bridge that goes to it!!
After immigration, you need to go to the hotel registration area before leaving the airport. Of course you need to pre-book in advance – but you need to let the airport know or you won’t be allowed to go out. There are accredited hotels where you have to stay until you get your test results. We chose @discoveryprimea Makati since it’s our second home in our area. You have to use the hotel transportation. Packed meals are included and are left outside your door for breakfast, lunch & dinner since you are not allowed to go out of your room till you get your results #h2htraveltips
Ready to board – baby Katsu – It was a lot of preparation and hard work!! Just like bringing a baby, Javs took care of him so well – so blessed he was well behaved on the plane. Katsu is an English bulldog – he has a brachycephalic nose so he cannot stay in the cargo or he could die. They have a flat nose so it will be hard for him to breath in the cargo #h2htraveltips #h2hanimals
