Mamma’s Table 2014

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

I have a feeling we go to Baguio because we like visiting Chef Vicky in her home 🙂  But definitely this is something we always look forward to when visiting Baguio.  We have been going here almost every year since it opened, we missed only last year.  Previous entries: Mamma’s Table by Vicky Tinio Clemente January 9, 2011

Mamma’s Table the Second Time Around July 10, 2011

Anniversary Celebration at Mamma’s Table 2012

Here is the Mamma behind Mamma’s table 🙂  So happy to see her that day

Posted on the refrigerator in the kitchen

The famous appetizer spread.  I took it with the girls so you can once again see how long it is 🙂

Artichoke and Parmesan spread

Chili Con Carne

Smoked Bangus Mousse

Kani and horseradish spread

Amuse Bouche – Caramelized onion, sauteed mushrooms, gruyere cheese and truffle oil custard baked in the eggshell served with finger toasts with anchovy butter

Interesting soup!!  French pressed gerb infused chicken consomme serve with Chicken mousse line with sage, brunoise of carrots and zucchini.  Another use for a French press!! And the soup was so good – yet light and healthy!

Foie gras with Balsamic vinegar pearls 🙂

Broiled fish on leek, dill, saffron coulis and brown butter lemon parsley sauce

 Intermezzo

Seared tenderloin served with red wine reduction and mushrooms jus, served with rissoni with mascarpone and mushrooms and blanched French beans

Leafy green Lolo rossa, romaine, watercress and arugula with orange supremes, pomelo, pineapple and almond with citrus vinaigrette

Chocolate beignet with chantilly cream and mangoes

The beautiful wishing well that eventually became the inspiration for Tito Stephen and his new magazine publication, Taste and Travel

It’s so nice to eat at home in Baguio because the weather is so nice and so conducive to cooking outdoors and just hanging out in the house.  Tito Stephen and Tita Reggie have such a beautiful home!  A country home 🙂

This is the usual appetizer table and we look forward to it 🙂

Bangus chicharon

Playing in the background was Tito Rj’s CD which is now available in Starbucks!!  I love this CD!!!  Tito RJ is Tita Reggie’s brother in law 🙂

Best Foodie friends 🙂  Mom and Tita Reg

yum yum homemade paella 🙂

Grilling 🙂

Special macaroni dish for Mischka 🙂

This is the salad table 🙂

Seasonings and spices

Dessert table

Inside the Master bedroom dressing room is this Mosler vault.  It is behind a mirrored sliding door so it looks like it’s just a closet.  For 20 years  they have been trying to open this safe wondering what could be inside the vault.  Finally a friend knew someone from Mosler and it took them 24 hours to open it.

There was nothing inside only another Mosler cabinet that was also a safe.  There was nothing inside the cabinet too 🙂  So nice to use this old vault door as a door! 🙂

Oh My Gulay Baguio

By | Arts and Culture, Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | No Comments

My friend, Ginge, told me about this place Oh My Gulay 🙂  We rarely eat out in Baguio and usually stay home so we have little time to really eat out.  So I went to the place just to take a look at it!  It’s this green building across ( La Azotea building 108 Session road ) the Starbucks in Session road.  Good thing the others went to Starbucks so i took advantage and crossed the street to check it out

There’s no elevator in the building so you have to climb up to the penthouse 🙂

You see the entrance from the floor before, 4th floor

Aside from the vegetarian cafe, it is also a venue to house arts and talents from the Cordilleras

Entrance- I thought I was entering a Disneyland ride 🙂

There’s a small side entrance which has a stairway to go up to the cafe seating

There are many areas for seating – up, down, balcony, under 🙂  Very nice place 🙂

The menu 🙂  Vegetarian.  We must come back one day to try

20 Incredible Places on Earth

By | Photography, Travel | No Comments

I googled “20 Incredible places” and there were quite a lot of searches that popped up!  And just imagining how many beautiful places there are in this world and if one person can actually see the whole world in their lifetime 🙂  Whatever it is, there is much to explore and see and God has created a beautiful world.  I always tell my family that we should explore and not always go to the same places because there is so much more out there!!  Posting here two articles out of the many out there.

TPLex and SCTex

By | Nature, Travel | No Comments

Heart2Heart loves these two highways!  From SCTex it will lead you to TPlex ( Tarlac-Pangasinan- La Union Expressway)  which is now a quicker way to get to Baguio.  The  TPLex  is an 88.85 km four lane expressway currently under construction North of Manila.  It connects central to northern Luzon, with its southernmost terminal located in Tarlac City.  Tarlac and  it’s planned northernmost terminus currently slated to be at Rosario, La Union.

I don’t mind driving here, it’s so smooth, so peaceful and so beautiful!!!

The scenery is just amazing!  God in action in this photo 🙂

This was towards the end of the TPLEx ( a moving shot ) It’s a beautiful scene with trees lined up in a row and a beautiful field!!

 Going down from Baguio

Rice fields

Corn

Back at TPLex

The row of trees again but from the other lane

Binulo Restaurant Clark

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We went to Clark and of course I always take a detour to try something in the area we are visiting 🙂  My friend, Timmy recommended this place so I went to check it out

binulo-clark-1.JPGbinulo-clark-2.JPG

SOP for me when ordering is to ask the waiter what is the bestseller and I like ordering the bestseller 🙂  He said kare kare but then I don’t eat kare kare so I asked him what was the second bestseller, he said sisig! Done! 🙂  YUM! I was alone so I could only order one dish in fact I even asked if I could have half an order 🙂 I wish we were more so I could try more dishes.  Hoping to return one day 😉
