Abaca Group

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

We went to Cebu only for the day for an important occasion.  So I planned the day in a way that I can visit a few of the places I have been hearing about and one of them was Beqaa which is Lebanese cuisine.

 beqaa-abaca.jpg

We went to Design Center where it was located and it is apparently a building owned by the Focus Global group where all their showrooms are located – Tempur, Wolf, Sub Zero, Miele, Siematic etc etc.  The guard was so strict, he did not allow me to take a photo of the building so I took this only

but they have a photo in their Facebook page so here it is:

On the 2nd floor is the restaurant and it was closed for lunch 🙁  The open only for dinner.  I did not know that many restaurants are closed for lunch in Cebu.  I was feeling so bad 🙁  But never mind, it’s something to look forward to the next time

This Abaca group is amazing.  All their concepts are all popular.

Harrod’s Food Hall

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Always a destination in London and a famous landmark!  It’s truly beautiful inside this store, I love window shopping here!!

Going around London is driving me crazy – all my senses are so alert – and look left rich up down everything is beautiful! Inside and outside of any structure – everything is so orderly, clean, neat, organized and just so amazingly beautiful.  In Harrods, don’t forget to look up!

First stop is usually the Food Hall for me.  I like just walking around and seeing what’s happening here.  I noticed the shopping baskets are Reisenthel ( German ) !

Liberty London

By | Shopping, Travel | No Comments

Super love this store!!  Ii have not been here in more than 20 years but appreciating it more now.  Liberty London – A story that reminds me of my late Grandmother, Gliceria Tantoco, who started Rustan’s.

Since 1875, Liberty has been synonymous with luxury and great design.  Arthur Liberty’s intuitive vision and pioneering spirit led him to travel the world looking for individual pieces to inspire and sxcitehis discerning clientele.  Liberty is not just a name above a door, it’s Arthur Liberty’s legacy whig stands for integrity, value, quality and above all beautifully designed products.  This vision and spirit continues today within the iconic Tudor building

Nando’s

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Apparently the Pinoys in London also like chicken 🙂  particularly Nando’s.  So we went to try it in the Westfield Mall

Grilling the chicken

The chicken was good 🙂  I guess what makes it different from the rest is the sauce.  We can make good grilled chicken in the Philippines 🙂

Fish and Chips in London

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Everyone has their own ” BEST” fish and chips.

Jay Aldeguer – Poppies in Camden Town Market

Rajo Laurel – The Golden Union

We were not able to go to any of those! But we tried 3 kinds this trip and all good.  I can’t say what’s best because each one has their own interpretation and execution.

This trip,  I particularly liked the one in the Duke of York Square market because it was not too big, it was think and crispy and the chips were good and crispy.  Problem here is the seating,

We had the one in the Borough Market.  There are different kinds of fish to choose from unlike when we go to some restaurants, they serve just one kind, in London, there are many kinds to choose from!

fish-and-chips-in-london3.JPGimg_4991.JPG

There are already displayed ones, I personally prefer freshly made ones.  Next time we should specify and hopefully they will accommodate

Big fish and chips 🙂  We tried two kinds, again I am sorry I did not take note 🙁

This is what I mean!  So many kinds of fish 🙂

fish-and-chips-in-london16.JPGfish-and-chips-in-london17.JPGfish-and-chips-in-london18.JPG

You can sit outside, take it out or there is seating inside.  Prices for dine in are higher than take out 🙂  For me dine in is the best because you get to eat it fresh and eat properly

I am sorry but I did not keep track anymore of the kinds of fish but we tried 4 kinds

Fortnum and Mason

By | Shopping, Travel | 2 Comments

I love love this place!  The facade was under renovation hence the design tar outside.  Fortnum and Mason is known as the store where the Queen shops and believe me you really feel like a Queen when shopping here 🙂  Ria and I went window shopping and enjoyed so much

It’s amazing how they take TEA so seriously here!  Everywhere in London 🙂  In Fortnum there is a floor that is all tea!

Love the staircases here – there are several – on the sides and in the middle

Love the picnic hampers which they are known for.  Bespoke hampers.  There are several desks for customers to sit down with a personal shopper for them to order and select their personalised hampers.  This reminds me of the Rustan’s Supermarket Christmas baskets that people buy by the hundreds and thousands during christmas.

More Tea things 🙂

Home accessories

Candles

Sterling silver tea accessories

Perfumery and toiletries department

Children’s

Hats and fascinators

Bags and jewellery

Then we went down to the basement for flowers and food and wine

Shake Shack at Covent Garden

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

So nice to be back at Covent Garden

I told myself before I came to London that I am not going to Shake Shack in London!  I try to save my meals for unique London places but since we were in the area and had to have a quick lunch, we decided to go 🙂  Don’t get me wrong, I love Shake Shack but in London I would rather have Fish and Chips 🙂

There’s a line outside but it moves fast

They have a small indoor seating and plenty outdoor seating and it’s full!

For four 🙂

Shack Stack

Vegetarian Shroom burger for me 🙂  This is a burger I can actually finish
