We all know Dedet as the famous Pepita’s Lechon.

Previous entries:  Pepita’s Lechon March 3, 2012

New From Pepita’s Kitchen October 22, 2013

Dedet is such a warm and simple person.  She’s always so soft spoken and so humble despite the success she is enjoying with her business.  And if you have had a degustation or have seen some photos from her dinners, you will always see her two little Pepitas helping out.  They are always there with Dedet.  And there’s a third little Pepita, an angel.  Aside from sharing with you her lechon here at Heart2Heart, there’s a heartwarming story I would like to share, about this little angel who continues to watch over the Pepitas.  Dedet wrote the story for all of you and here it is

From Lileya and Liyora – do contact them  ( projectwheelchair3@gmail.com ) if you would like to donate cash, or  wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, whether brand new or second hand.  A brand new wheelchair where Dedet gets wheelchairs costs around P 2,600, walkers P 1,000 and crutches for P 600.00 a pair.  They started this project for kids but now it is for anyone who is in need for wheelchairs

The Camino de Santiago

By | Entertainment, Travel, Tributes | One Comment

A few months before our trip, we watched the movie, THE WAY.  It’s a beautiful movie! Though we did not plan to walk the Camino, I hope to do the pilgrimage one of these days with a group of friends

I heard about the Camino several years ago from my friend, Rina, who did a 150 km pilgrimage with a group of female friends for 7 days

Criselda Lontok 30 Years A Fashionable Life in Full Bloom

By | Celebrations, Fashion, Tributes, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

This was such a sentimental and important event in my life I made sure I attended this.  There are some things in my life that have been consistent since I was a child and one of them was Criselda.  I remember her as an important figure in the company and in our family and she has stayed that way ever since.  She is our family.  And I am so happy that she has stayed with Rustan’s even after many things have changed – brands have come and gone – but she will always remain with us forever.  More power to you Criselda and we love you!

CCF Baguio

By | Tributes | No Comments

Aside from visiting Mark and Neng in their home, I visited them in their church.  Mark and Neng are missionaries and they were assigned in Baguio.  Me and my family are so lucky because Mark and Neng always pray for us 🙂  I really admire Mark and Neng and others who dedicate their lives to the church

Neng is so creative, she is in charge of all the art and graphic requirements

At the time I visited them, they were preparing for a seminar for the youth.  They are actually in charge of the youth.  So Neng told me that many come to her to seek advice.  Sometimes parents go to her to mediate and talk to their kids 🙂

Tuesday Lunch

By | Foodie, Tributes | No Comments

For as long as I can remember, my Dad and one of his bestfriends, Tito Boni, have been seeing each other every week, every tuesday for lunch!  They call it Tuesday lunch 🙂  They are so cute and I admire them for what they have.

They take turns choosing the restaurant to eat it.  After awhile, they were inviting the family to join – so whoever can make it – we join the lunch.  A few weeks ago, I was the only one who could make it 🙂

Dad loves Kuretake and for a time and until now he chooses to come here and he used to have Chicken teriyaki every single time.  It’s a good thing that lately he has changed to having this set meal with grilled jaw

A Heart2Heart favorite, Donnie Tantoco

Previous entry:  Metro Society The Men’s Issue Donnie Tantoco March 19, 2012

He’s all over here in Heart2Heart-in our family gatherings, in Rustan’s events, in the look alike feature 🙂

lookalikes4.jpglook-alikes-part-3-07-custom.jpg

Today is his special day and Heart2Heart wants to pay tribute to a very special guy!

donnie-baby-photo.JPG

A graduate from Northwestern University and when he came back he put up Royal Duty Free Shops in Subic and Clark.  Afterwhich he put up Shopwise with our Lolo.   He now also runs Rustan’s Supermarket and Wellcome.

happy-birthday-dvt-3.jpghappy-birthday-dvt-4.jpg

He is so famous and so successful yet he is so humble and not overbearing and that is what makes him different from many.  He never brags about his accomplishments – and when you congratulate and praise him, he will divert the attention back to you or he will even pass it on and give credit to someone else

See him in one of the latest issues of Rockwell.

 happy-birthday-dvt-1.jpghappy-birthday-dvt-2.jpg

He loves his people and they love him back

dvt-2.jpg

especially the girls! haha!!

Because he treats them like how he treats us – like his family

dvt-1.jpg

I love the latest tribute he made to one of the managers at Shopwise – Bim Generoso – who recently passed away

dvt-4.jpgdvt-on-bim-generoso.jpgbim-generoso-with-dvt.jpg

He is very religious and even if he is so busy, you will see him in Church as a lay minister

img_8985.jpg

In my previous feature of their home, he added this section by their bedroom which I really really love!

He is a loving husband to Crix – Many girls would agree with me and say that Crickette is so lucky to have him! ( and of course vise versa but it’s not Crix bday today haha ).

Father of three wonderful children

donnie-family.JPG

Very fit at 47! He does 1,000 (maybe more ) jump ropes everyday

dvt-3.jpgdonnie-and-twins.JPG

He and Lolo Benny are like bestfriends – like father and son.  They are so alike in many ways.  Aside from having the same name, They are both smart, they are both so generous and kind and they do their best to please everyone….especially the Tantoco women! 🙂

lolo-benny-donnie.JPG

He is known to us as Manong Donnie 🙂 being the eldest grandchild in the family.  Many would think that there is no perfect guy – Intelligent, hardworking, so kind, so generous, so sweet, so handsome, so religious and faithful all rolled into one. But for sure there is one in our family, our Manong Donnie! Happy Birthday to our big brother! We love you!

Emanuel V. Soriano

An interesting story which our friend, JJ Soriano, shared with us.  A story about his father who used art as his therapy when he got a stroke.
