By | Velada 2012 | No Comments

A few weeks ago, I bonded with my Assumption Highschool batch mates. AC Batch ’87 This prayer group is called GDs. ( Gorgeous Donkeys) We come together for many things and one of them is prayer. But first of all we eat! haha!!Prayer Meeting with AC Batch '87 (4)

It was Cherry’s birthday so she treated us with Pepita’s lechon with truffle rice.  Too bad when I got there it was almost gone! 🙂Prayer Meeting with AC Batch '87 (2)

Now back to serious stuff 🙂Prayer Meeting with AC Batch '87 (9)

We have monthly prayer meetings. There is bible reading then sharing.  I am not one to really talk and share that is why I don’t really attend this prayer group haha!!

That evening, Cherry’s niece, Mara, was a special guest and shared with us her experience as a cancer survivorPrayer Meeting with AC Batch '87 (10)

Our batch mate Amy attended the meeting as well since she wanted to thank the batch personally.  She and her family needed some help and it’s amazing how the batch helped her in many ways!! When someone is in need – there is no questions asked, in an instant everyone helps in their own way!!  I am so lucky to be part of this batch

Amy Albert Malig prayer meeting

This is my 2nd time to attend the prayer meeting in all the 7 years they have been doing this but the beauty of it is that I know I will always be welcome to join when I want. I am lucky to be part of a batch that is so supportive of each other. It is amazing how even we are not close to everyone, the batch brings us together some way and makes us feel connected. Prayer Meeting with AC Batch '87 (1)

Thanks to my friend and batch mate, Triccie, for organising this reunion!! Clarissa, Joey and I were in the Bay Area so Triccie gathered the batch mates and chose the venue.  It was a sunny beautiful Sunday and Joey picked up Triccie, then Clarissa then me 🙂

We were early so we got a good parking spot right in front of the restaurant!!  Not to mention that Joey got a parking ticket for not parking within the space!

Sharing with you the video from our Assumption Batch Christmas party.  We tried to get the batch together on this special Christmas season and wanted to include our batchmates abroad.  Some sent their greetings and these ladies prepared a dance number for us!!  What a nice gesture and how fun!!  Watch Joy, Irma and Drizzle all the way from Las Vegas performing Single Ladies! 🙂  They sent me several videos and I edited it from the MAKING to the final video. They are the cutest! ENJOY!

How to Plan for a Batch Christmas Get Together

By | Christmas, Velada 2012 | One Comment

Tomorrow, our highschool batch will be having our Christmas get together.  We had planned this months ago and after deliberation, we decided to push through with it.  We toned it down and made it a simple get together so that we could meet up with the batch.

 1383111_10151723989926872_958270495_n.jpg

I found our last year photo when we conceived the Christmas party committee and we are back again

Previous entry:  AC Batch 87 Christmas Party 2012 December 28, 2012

Hopefully another team can take care of it to give others a chance to organize for the batch

We had our first meeting in Lills house

Previous entry:  From the Kitchen of Lills November 9 , 2013

And then we had a second meeting in my place.

Here is how we planned for the party.

1.) Think Happy Thoughts

We started the meeting with HAPPY THOUGHTS to make my committee be in a HAPPY MOOD because they are always getting mad at me for being strict and bossy! 🙂

Here are their happy thoughts 🙂

2.)  Get into the mood of the theme of the party

This was a prelude to our pink christmas party so everything was pink 🙂 We had a pink tea party to get them in the mood

xmas-party-meeting-set-up.JPG

3.)  Always have an agenda because when you are friends, you tend to stray and talk about other things that are not Christmas Party related 🙂

Each one is a head of a committee or a particular responsibility – so Lills is in charge of the food.  She got quotes and proposals from different caterers and she presented it to the committee

To keep costs low so that everyone in the batch can afford, we get a basic menu and then we ask generous and willing batchmates to donate additional food and drinks 🙂 Though this was scrapped already since we decided to cut down on expenses after typhoon Yolanda

Our host for this year 🙂  I asked her to make a layout 🙂

4.)  Take care of your committee

Feed them so they will be good and just follow !BRIBE! 🙂

initials-on-xmas-party-committee.JPG

Give them giveaways to take home after the meeting 🙂

Pink giveaways to the committee members who works so hard and still give so much more even after all that they do

Bye girls! Till our next meeting! I love you all! 🙂

I am sharing this beautiful video which my batchmates made!  I was asked to go to the shoot and be part of the video – after seeing the finished product, I regret not showing up.  I don’t like to regret not doing things!  Let’s not have regrets and show up for the many beautiful events in our life – one of them is the Velada!  Thank you to Karla Siopongco Campos for putting together all the videos!!
